[The effect of medical gymnastics on the external respiratory function of patients with infectious-allergic bronchial asthma under ambulatory treatment]. / Vliianie lechebnoi gimnastiki na funktsiiu vneshnego dykhaniia u bol'nykh infektsionno-allergicheskoi bronkhial'noi astmoi pri ambulatornom lechenii.

A new treatment of bacterial asthma involving therapeutic exercise, massage and using a special respiration regulator improving bronchial permeability is proposed. The treatment was conducted in 118 patients aged 22-68 with 1-17-year history of asthma. The set of exercises proposed, especially in application of the regulator, improves external respiration, bronchial permeability, helps to reduce hyperventilation and arterial hypoxemia.

[The use of a respiratory regulator in the combined therapy of obstructive lung diseases]. / Ispol'zovanie reguliatora dykhaniia v kompleksnoi terapii obstruktivnykh zabolevanii legkikh.

The authors review a method for the treatment of patients suffering from nonspecific pulmonary diseases associated with the obstructive syndrome by means of a respiratory regulator which permits the building of positive pressure of 2-4 cm H2O throughout expiration. External respiration, gas exchange and hemodynamics were explored in 30 patients with chronic obstructive bronchitis and in 30 patients with bronchial asthma treated by the respiratory regulator. There were clinical and functional data indicating the lowering of bronchial obstruction: an increase of the lung capacities, improvement of the velocity indicators, and improvement of the ventilation-perfusion correlations in the lungs.

[Outpatient clinic treatment of broncho-obstructive syndrome using an artificial regulator of respiration]. / O lechenii bronkhoobstruktivnogo sindroma v usloviiakh polikliniki s ispol'zovaniem iskusstvennogo reguliatora dykhaniia.

The artificial respiration regulator (ARR) employed by the authors belongs to the series of analogous apparatuses rendering resistance to expiration and preventing hyperventilation in broncho-obstructive syndromes. The device used is more compact and simple in management. It promotes improvement in the condition of patients with severe forms of bronchial asthma and chronic bronchitis complicated by expiration, stenosis, permits discontinuation of drugs and hormones in the majority of patients. ARR is believed efficient in the outpatient treatment of broncho-obstructive syndrome.
