[Cyclic nucleotides in patients with cancer and non-tumoral diseases of the gastrointestinal tract]. / Tsiklicheskie nukleotidy u bol'nykh rakom i neopukholevymi zabolevaniiami zheludochno-kishechnogo trakta.

The intracellular levels of adenosine-3,5-monophosphate and guanosine-3,5-monophosphate were compared in 76 patients with different patterns of stomach pathology and 98 cases of colonic diseases. A significant decrease in concentration of cyclic nucleotides in malignant tumors of the digestive tract was observed. The results point to essential functional changes taking place at cellular level in the grossly intact mucosa of the stomach and colon in tumor pathology.
