[Hemorrhagic cystitis in the course of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation].

Sixty patients consisting of 56 cases with leukemia, 3 with lymphoma and 1 with neuroblastoma were treated with various kinds of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The conditioning regimen consisted of mainly cyclophosphamide (CTX) and total body irradiation (TBI) with the addition of 1-3 doses of other antitumor drugs e.g. cytarabine, daunomycin, etoposide, 6-MP etc. The overall incidence of hemorrhagic cystitis in the course of transplantation was 23.3% (14 out of 60 patients). The time of onset of hematuria in 6 of 14 patients was within 1-4 days following high-dose CTX during conditioning and in the remaining 8 cases occurred 10-30 days after transplantation. The duration of hematuria lasted 2-31 days (mean, 4 days). Thirteen patients recovered and one patient died from the complication.

[A regimen of DATV in the treatment of acute nonlymphocytic leukemia with high complete remission rate].

UNLABELLED: Thirty-eight adults including 24 males and 14 females with acute nonlymphocytic leukemia were treated with DATV (Daunorubicin, Cytarabine, 6-thioguaninum, Vincristine) regimen from December 1987 to May 1991. The median age was 31 years old (range 13-54). The DATV regimen consisted of DNR 60 mg/day IV for 3 days; Ara-C 100 mg by continuous infusion every 12 hours for 7 days; 6-TG 150 mg PO for 7 days and VCR 2mg IV on day 1. RESULTS: Complete remission (CR) was achieved in thirty-three of 38 patients after 1-2 courses (mean 1.3) with CR rates 86.8%. Five patients had no response to the regimen. Twenty-four of 33 patients who achieved CR are still in CR for 1-41 months with a median follow-up of 10 months.
