RESUMO

For practical application of lithium-sulfur batteries (LSBs), designing devices with an overall optimal structure instead of modifying electrode materials is significant. Herein, we report a chip-inspired design of a vertically integrated structure as an LSB cathode by implanting Mo2C nanoparticles and nanosulfur into the reduced graphene oxide (rGO) matrix. This configuration enabled the synthesis of isolated sulfur nanoreactors (S-NRs) integrated in a tandem array on the rGO, generating chip-like integrated LSBs. The spatial confinement/protection and concentration gradient of the S-NRs effectively avoided the dissolution, diffusion, and loss of polysulfides, thereby enhancing the sulfur utilization and redox reaction kinetics. Additionally, the adaptive storage energy can be improved by utilizing the tandem, isolation, and synergistic multiplicative effect among the nanoreactor units. As a result, the integrated LSB cathode obtained excellent electrochemical performances with an initial capacity of 1392 mAh g-1 at 0.1C, a low capacity decay rate of 0.017% per cycle during 1500 cycles of operation at 0.5C, and a superior rate performance. This work provides a rational design idea and method of further advancing the precise preparation of high-performance energy storage devices.

RESUMO

Apart from electrode material modification, architecture design and optimization are important approaches for improving lithium-sulfur battery performance. Herein, an integrated structure with tandem connection is constructed by confining nanosulfur (NS) in conductive poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) reaction chambers, forming an interface of discrete independent nanoreactor units bonded onto carbon nanotubes (noted as CNT/NS@PEDOT). The unique spatial confinement and concentration gradients of sulfur@PEDOT nanoreactors (SP-NRs) can promote reaction kinetics while facilitating rapid polysulfide transformation and minimizing dissolution and diffusion losses. Meanwhile, overall ultrahigh energy input and output are achieved through tandem connection with carbon nanotubes, isolation with PEDOT coating, and synergistic multiplicative effects among SP-NRs. As a result, it delivers a high initial discharge capacity of 1246 mAh g-1 at 0.1 C and 918 mAh g-1 at 1 C, the low capacity decay rate per lap of 0.011 % is achieved at a current density of 1 C after 1000 cycles. This research emphasizes the innovative structural design to provide a fresh trajectory for the further advancement of high-performance energy storage devices.

RESUMO

ABSTRACT: Preoperative screening of potential risk of lymph node metastasis is necessary for thyroidectomy plus lymph node dissection. The 2015 American thyroid association management guidelines do not recommend prophylactic cervical lymph node resection without clinical evidence of metastasis. Ultrasound is recommended imaging method and routine computed tomography is not recommended by the 2015 American thyroid association management guidelines for screening of lymph node metastasis. The objective of the study was to compare the diagnostic performance of ultrasound against that of computed tomography for screening cervical lymph node metastasis of patients with papillary thyroid cancer before thyroidectomy plus lymph node dissection.Data regarding preoperative neck ultrasound, neck computed tomography, and physical examination of the head and neck and postoperative pathological results of a total of 185 patients (age > 18 years) with a diagnosis of papillary thyroid cancer who had suspicious lymph nodes on preoperative imaging and treated by thyroidectomy plus lymph node dissection for the therapeutic purpose were collected and analyzed.Sensitivity (78.09% vs 75.28%, P < .0001) and accuracy (77.29% vs 75.13%, P = .0004) of neck computed tomography scanning to detect cervical lymph node metastasis were higher than those of neck ultrasound scanning. Sensitivity, accuracy, positive clinical utility, and negative clinical utility for neck ultrasound scanning plus neck computed tomography scanning to detect cervical lymph node metastasis were higher among all index tests (P < .05 for all) and were statistically the same as those of surgical pathology (P > .05 for all). The working areas for decision-making of thyroidectomy plus lymph node dissection of the physical examination, neck ultrasound, the neck computed tomography, and the neck ultrasound scanning plus the neck computed tomography scanning were 0 to 0.691 diagnostic confidence/lesion, 0 to 0.961 diagnostic confidence/lesion, 0 to 0.944 diagnostic confidence/lesion, and 0 to 0.981 diagnostic confidence/lesion, respectively.Besides the neck ultrasound, the neck computed tomography scanning can be used as a complementary imaging method to detect cervical lymph node metastasis of patients with papillary thyroid cancer before thyroidectomy plus lymph node dissection.Level of evidence: III.Technical efficacy stage: 2.

RESUMO

We wished to assess the role of chlamydia micro virus capsid protein Vp3 in recombinant molecules, chart its molecular evolution, screen the wild-type strain, and reveal its value in clinical research. Using a protein BLAST multiple-alignment program, we compared various strains of Chlamydia micro virus capsid protein Vp3 sequences. Using a "distance tree" of those results, we created a phylogenetic tree. We applied the Karplus-Schulz method of flexible-region analyses for highly conserved alignments of amino-acid sequences. Gamier-Robson and Chou-Fasman methods were employed to analyze two-level structures of sequences. The Emini method was used for analyses of the accessibility of surface epitopes. Studies of hydrophilic proteins were undertaken using Kyte-Doolittle and Hopp-Woods methods. Analyses of antigen epitopes helped to reveal the antigen index using the Jameson-Wolf method. All sequences in the six strains of chlamydia micro virus capsid protein Vp3 were highly conserved, with the main differences being between Vp3 protein in Chp1 and the other five strains of the micro virus. The viral strain of Vp3 protein was based mainly on micro-alpha helix structures, and multiple epitopes were noted in highly conserved regions. Vp3 protein was highly conserved structurally, and was an important protein of the chlamydiaphage capsid. Vp3 protein has a complicated molecular structure, highly conserved regions with strong immunogenicity, and has considerable research value.
