RESUMO

Due to bimetallic MOFs (metal-organic frameworks) possessing diverse structure topologies and superior properties, herein, we used bimetallic ZIFs (zeolitic imidazole frameworks) of MOFs as precursors via the wet chemical and calcination method to fabricate zinc-embellished Co-Zn@NPC@MWCNT nanocomposites with porous conductive carbon-based networks The abundant carbon defects, zinc evaporation, and N-atom doping resulted in the emergence of dipolar/interface polarization, which is good for dielectric loss. The high porosity and large specific surface area were instrumental in the attenuation of multiple scattering and endowed the absorber with an excellent absorption performance. With merely 15 wt% filled loading and 3.187 mm thickness, the obtained composites under the optimized carbonization temperature (800 °C) exhibited double absorption peaks: the RLmin (minimum reflection loss) reached -76.18 dB@12.88 GHz and -33.09 dB@7.76 GHz, respectively. Moreover, a wide absorption bandwidth can be up to 6.56 GHz (7.2-13.76 GHz) with 3.0 mm thickness, distributed in three frequency bands: 20% of the C band, 100% of the X band, and 29.3% of the Ku band. In addition, the conductive network structure of composites was also beneficial for electromagnetic (EM)-wave absorption. An easy preparation process and low cost can further promote the commercial potential of our obtained bimetallic MOF-based material as an EM-wave absorber.

In order to identify the source of Citrus grandis and evaluate its quality originate from two areas comprehensively,DNA barcode was used to identify 26 samples of C. grandis. The content of naringin,rhoifolin,naringenin and apigenin was determined by UPLC method,and the color difference was numerically studied by color difference analyzer,which was related to the effective components of C. grandis. The results showed that samples was the source of C. grandis in both regions. The ITS2 sequence length was about400-500 bp,and the sequence similarity reached 99. 82%. There was only one base deletion in the two groups. There was one base A in some medicinal materials of Guangdong at 330 bp,but no base in Chongqing. The contents of naringin and rhoifolin in Chongqing samples were higher than those in Guangdong samples,and there were statistical differences between naringenin and apigenin. The chroma value showed that L*value of Guangdong was larger,a*value was smaller,L*value of Chongqing was smaller,and a*value was larger,while the b*value of both was not significantly different; The results of correlation analysis showed that naringin,rhoifolin,naringenin were positively correlated with L*,b*value,negatively correlated with a*value,and apigenin had no correlation with L*,a*,b*value. In this study,the scientific identification and evaluation of C. grandis was carried out to provide a new idea for the further study of the rapid identification and evaluation of C. grandis.

Biomass is the most abundant renewable resource on earth and developing high-performance nonprecious selective hydrogenation (SH) catalysts will enable the use of biomass to replace rapidly diminishing fossil resources. This work utilizes ZIF-67-derived nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes to confine Co nanoparticles (NPs) with Co-Nx active sites as a high-performance SH catalyst. The confined Co NPs with Co-Nx exhibit excellent catalytic activity, selectivity, and stability toward a wide range of biomass-derived compounds. Such active sites can selectively hydrogenate aldehyde, ketone, carboxyl, and nitro groups of biomass-derived compounds into value-added fine chemicals with 100% selectivity. The reported approach could be adopted to create other forms of catalytically active sites from other nonprecious metals.

ABSTRACT The carapace of the tortoise Chinemys reevesii is an ingredient of "Guijia", a traditional Chinese medicine. However, C. reevesii is difficult to raise in aquaculture and is rare in the wild. Counterfeit tablets are made from carapaces of other species. In addition to C. reevesii, other species including Mauremys sinensis, Indotestudo elongate and Trachemys scripta have been used in Plastrum Testudinis as well. After processing, these carapaces are difficult to identify on the basis of morphological characteristics, which impedes law enforcement. Our study used DNA barcoding technology to identify C. reevesii and its substitutes. We extracted concentrated genomic DNA for PCR amplification. Based on the analysis of 61 full-length COI sequences, we designed four pairs of mini-barcode primers: Tu-A, Tu-B, Tu-C and Tu-D. The Tu-B primers sequenced genomic DNA with a success rate of 76.47%, and the Tu-D primers sequenced genomic DNA with a success rate of 88.24%. The identification efficiency of these two mini-barcodes was 70.59% and 64.71%, and the overall identification efficiency was approximately 76.47%. Similarly, a set of mini barcode systems was generated, which may provide an effective and low-cost method for the identification of authentic tortoise shells.

In this report, three new metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), [Co3(µ3-OH)(HBTC)(BTC)2Co(HBTC)]·(HTEA)3·H2O (NTU-Z30), [Co(BTC)]·HTEA·H2O (NTU-Z31), [Co3(BTC)4]·(HTEA)4 (NTU-Z32), where H3BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid, TEA = triethylamine, and NTU = Nanyang Technological University, have been successfully synthesized under surfactant media and have been carefully characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, and IR spectromtry. NTU-Z30 has an unusual trimeric [Co3(µ3-OH)(COO)7] secondary building unit (SBU), which is different from the well-known trimeric [Co3O(COO)6] SBU. The topology studies indicate that NTU-Z30 and NTU-Z32 possess two new topologies, 3,3,6,7-c net and 2,8-c net, respectively, while NTU-Z31 has a known topology rtl type (3,6-c net). Magnetic analyses show that all three materials have weak antiferromagnetic behavior. Furthermore, NTU-Z30 has been selected as the heterogeneous catalyst for the aerobic epoxidation of alkene, and our results show that this material exhibits excellent catalytic activity as well as good stability. Our success in growing new crystalline cobalt 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate MOFs under surfactant media could pave a new road to preparing new diverse crystalline inorganic materials through a surfactant-thermal method.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a hypervascular tumor and accumulating evidence suggests that angiogenesis plays an important role in HCC development. Cordycepin, also known as 3'-deoxyadenosine, is a derivative of adenosine, and numerous cellular enzymes cannot differentiate the two. The aim of the present study was to determine whether cordycepin regulates proliferation, migration and angiogenesis in a human umbilical vein endothelial cell line (EA.hy926) and in a hepatocellular carcinoma cell line (HepG2). MTT was used to assess cell proliferation. Apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry (propidium iodide staining). Transwell and wound healing assays were used to analyze the migration and invasion of HepG2 and EA.hy926 cells. Angiogenesis in EA.hy926 cells was assessed using a tube formation assay. Cordycepin strongly suppressed HepG2 and EA.hy926 cell proliferation in a dose- and time-dependent manner. Cordycepin induced EA.hy926 cell apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner (2,000 µg/ml: 50.20±1.55% vs. 0 µg/ml: 2.62±0.19%; P<0.01). Cordycepin inhibited EA.hy926 cell migration (percentage of wound healing area, 2,000 µg/ml: 3.45±0.29% vs. 0 µg/ml: 85.48±0.84%; P<0.05), as well as tube formation (total length of tubular structure, 1,000 µg/ml: 107±39 µm vs. 0 µg/ml: 936±56 µm; P<0.05). Cordycepin also efficiently inhibited HepG2 cell invasion and migration. High-performance liquid chromatography analysis of the cytosol from EA.hy926 cells showed that cordycepin was stable for 3 h. In conclusion, cordycepin not only inhibited human HepG2 cell proliferation and invasion, but also induced apoptosis and inhibited migration and angiogenesis in vascular endothelial cells, suggesting that cordycepin may be used as a novel anti-angiogenic therapy in HCC.

OBJECTIVES: Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a major cause of pain and functional limitation. Short-term Baduanjin () exercise had been testified to be beneficial to the disease. This study conducted an initial assessment of the one-year Baduanjin exercise on knee OA. METHODS: The recruited patients practiced Baduanjin at the community recreational center. Sessions were held for 30 min five times a week for one year. Knee pain, stiffness, physical disability, general health, knee extensors and flexors strength, and aerobic ability were measured using the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), the Medical Outcomes Study Short Form-36 (SF-36), the 6-Minute Walk Test (6-MWT), and the Isokinetic Strength of the Knee Extensors and Flexors (ISKEF). Body mass index (BMI) was also calculated before and after the study period for comparison. RESULTS: Twenty-eight patients signed the informed consent. Six patients withdrew from the trial. Twenty-two patients (29 knees) completed the one-year study. After one-year Baduanjin exercise, WOMAC pain (132.0±69.6 vs. 56.2±67.6, P=0.000), stiffness (64.7±54.8 vs. 22.3±34.6, P=0.000), and physical function subscales (386.1±275.8 vs. 182.0±235.7, P=0.003); SF-36 body pain (45.7±20.0 vs. 57.4±17.9, P=0.005), general health (50.5±20.0 vs. 62.1±16.1, P=0.004), role emotional (64.4±26.1 vs. 73.5±21.3, P=0.047), and health transition (3.3±1.0 vs. 2.6±1.0, P=0.008); BMI (25.0±2.9 vs. 24.4±2.9, P=0.032); 6-MWT (565.7±94.6 vs. 610.5±66.7, P=0.036); and ISKEF Peak Torque (the Knee Extensors: 60.5±25.5 vs. 76.8±31, P=0.000; the Knee Flexors: 29.3±15.9 vs. 37.1±15.8, P=0.001) were significantly improved. No adverse effects resulted from the exercise. CONCLUSIONS: It suggested that the long-term Baduanjin could be a feasible and safe exercise option for knee OA.
