RESUMO

The combination of photothermal therapy and chemotherapy are developing as a promising clinical strategy but it urgently needs the high exploration of intelligent multifunctional drug delivery nanovectors. In this paper, we used a versatile method to construct mesoporous polydopamine nanovehicles (MPDA) with the dendritic mesopores loaded with a clinical chemotherapeutic drug, Doxorubicin (MPDA@DOX). The monodisperse nanoagents are spherical with a size of ∼160 nm and pore size of approximately 10 nm. MPDA could efficiently delivery DOX with π-π stacking interaction and acts as the potent photothermal agents. Importantly, MPDA@DOX are preferentially internalized by cancerous cells, then bursting drug release and local hyperthermia generation were observed in conditions representative of the cytoplasm in tumor cells that highly synergistic cell killing effect were found under 808 nm laser irradiation. The fluorescent imaging results of human breast tumor bearing murine model evidenced that MPDA delivery platform have excellent tumor precise targeting effect and in vivo tumor ablation experiment further revealed that MPDA@DOX showed markedly eradicated tumor growth capability under laser exposure. Therefore, this work provided a fascinating strategy based on biocompatible MPDA based drug delivery system for malignant tumors eradication via synergistic therapy.

RESUMO

In this study, the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of Ixora chinensis was sequenced by next-generation sequencing for the first time. The complete cp genome is 154,787 in length and contained 131 genes, consisting of 86 protein-coding genes, eight ribosomal RNA genes, and 37 transfer RNA genes. The phylogenetic position based on chloroplast genomes suggests that I. chinensis was closely related to I. chinensis (MN850660.1) within the Ixora clade, which may provide useful information for further understanding the evolution of I. chinensis.

RESUMO

The first complete chloroplast (cp) genome of Narcissus 'Pink Charm' was sequenced and characterized using Illumina paired-end data. The assembled cp genome was 159,988 in length with a GC content of 37.82%. A total of 137 genes were annotated, consisting of 91 protein-coding genes, eight ribosomal RNA genes, and 38 transfer RNA genes. The phylogenetic position based on the cp genome data revealed that Narcissus 'Pink Charm' is more closely related to Narcissus poeticus than other relative species.

RESUMO

Although limited progress have been made about pathogen system of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis and Hibiscus latent Fort Pierce virus (HLFPV), interaction between plant host and pathogen remain largely unknown, which led to deficiency of effective measures to control disease of hibiscus plants caused by HLFPV. In this study, infection of HLFPV in Hibiscus rosa-sinensis was firstly confirmed for the first time by traditional electron microscopy, modern reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and RNA-seq methods in China (HLFPV-Ch). Sequence properties analyzing suggested that the full-length sequences (6,465 nt) of HLFPV-Ch had a high sequence identity and a similar genomic structure with other tobamoviruses. It includes a 5'-terminal untranslated region (UTR), followed by four open reading frames encoding for a 128.5-kDa replicase, a 186.5-kDa polymerase, a 31-kDa movement protein, 17.6-kDa coat protein, and the last a 3'-terminal UTR. Furthermore, HLFPV-Ch-derived virus-derived siRNAs (vsiRNAs) ant its putative target genes, reported also for the first time, were identified and characterized from disease Hibiscus rosa-sinensis through sRNA-seq and Patmatch server to investigate the interaction in this pathogen systems. HLFPV-Ch-derived vsiRNAs demonstrated several general and specific characteristics. Gene Ontology classification revealed predicted target genes by vsiRNAs are involved in abroad range of cellular component, molecular function and biological processes. Taken together, for first time, our results certified the HLFPV infection in China and provide an insight into interaction between HLFPV and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: There is a large amount of industrial wastewater produced by the mushroom industry during the canning processing each year, which could provide abundant carbon, nitrogen and inorganic salts for microbial growth. The aim of this study was to optimize the culture conditions for Bacillus licheniformis cultured in the Agaricus bisporus industrial wastewater to produce the agricultural microbial fertilizer. RESULTS: In this work, the maximal biomass of B. licheniformis could be obtained under the following culture conditions: 33.7°C, pH 7.0, 221 rpm shaking speed, 0.5% wastewater, 2 (v:v, %) inoculum dose, loading liquid of 60 mL/250 mL and a culture time of 24 h, and the average experimental value obtained was 1.35 ± 0.04 × 109 Obj/mL, which was within the 95% confidence interval of the predicted model (1.291.38 × 109 Obj/mL), and met the national microbial fertilizers' standard in China. Furthermore, the field experiment results showed that the fermentation broth of B. licheniformis could significantly improve the yield of Anoectochilus roxburghii. CONCLUSIONS: Agaricus bisporus industrial wastewater can be used to produce agricultural microbial fertilizer.

RESUMO

By setting up a set of simulated tidal systems with different air- and water temperature and tidal flood conditions, this paper studied the synergistic effects of low temperature in winter and ebb tide at night on the growth and key eco-physiological traits of Sonneratia apetala seedlings. Low air temperature depressed the seedlings growth, but the reduction in the seedling height and basal stem diameter was compensated 41.2% and 44.6%, respectively by a 5 degrees C increase of water temperature. Low air temperature (15 degrees C) reduced the leaf Fv/Fm significantly, indicating a dramatic reduction in the leaf photosynthetic capacity, whereas the flooded tide with higher water temperature could not compensate this damage. The flooded tide with high air temperature increased the proline and soluble sugar contents in mature leaves, which could protect the mature leaves from cold damage. When extreme cold events occurred, the flooded tide at night worked as a heat storage medium, which alleviated the cold damage on the seedlings growth and leaf physiological traits, and promoted the survival rate of S. apetala seedlings.
