RESUMO
This study included 45 children at the age from 5 to 17 years with type I diabetes mellitus complicated by diabetic retinopathy. All the patients showed retinal thickening at the macula and reduced amplitude of local electroretinogram suggesting compromised capillary circulation. The capillary blood flow was corrected by transcranial magnetotherapy with the use of an AMO-ATOS Ogolovie unit. The results of the treatment were evaluated from characteristics of laser Doppler flometry. A course of transcranial magnetotherapy comprising 10 daily seances resulted in a significant increase of microcirculation index, respiratory rhythm, and myogenic tone (by 1.64, 1.35, and 1.16 times respectively). In addition, morphometric and electrophysiological properties of the retina underwent positive changes. Transcranial exposure to the traveling magnetic field is recommended for the correction of intraocular microcirculation and prevention of diabetic macular oedema.

Twenty-five boys and 20 girls, aged 5-17 years, with diabetes mellitus type I and illness duration from 2 to 10 years have been studied. All of them suffered from diabetic neuropathy. Laser-Doppler flowmetry has been used. The treatment has been conducted using running impulse magnetic field. The efficacy of the influence of running field along the extremity with the velocity of run (frequency of field modulation) divisible by the impulse conduction velocity along the nerve fiber in diabetic polyneuropathy has been shown.

Alterations in the patterns of hemoglycolysis (ATP, 2,3-diphosphoglycerate, glucose, lactate, pyruvate) were studied after incubation of erythrocytes from 98 patients with chronic ischemic heart disease and 27 practically healthy persons. The incubation of erythrocytes within 2 hrs enabled to detect the typical impairments in regulation of glycolysis occurring in erythrocytes of the patients as well as to find two main types of its alteration, corresponding to clinical manifestations in the circulation insufficiency.
