RESUMO

Unexpected traffic accidents cause traffic congestion and aggravate the unsafe situation on the roadways. Reducing the impact of such congestion by introducing Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) into the traditional traffic flow is possible. It requires estimating the incident's duration and analyzing the incident's impact area to determine the appropriate strategy. To guide the driver in making efficient and accurate judgments and avoiding secondary traffic congestion, the Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control (CACC) model with dynamic safety distance and the Intelligent Driver Model (IDM) based on the safety potential field theory are introduced to build the evolution model of accidental traffic congestion under diversion interference and non-interference. The Huatao Interchange section of the Inner Ring Highway in the Banan District of Chongqing, China, was selected as the test section for simulating mixed traffic flow under different CAVs permeability (Pc). The relationship between the evacuation time, evacuation traffic volume, and the accident impact degree index (including the farthest queue length and accident duration) under the diversion intervention scenario was analyzed, respectively. The results of the study indicate that the higher the penetration of CAVs, the more significant the improvement in traffic flow occupancy, flow, and speed. Diversion interventions reduce congestion, about 50 % of the duration without interventions, when Pc ≤ 80 %. The traffic volume of diversion interference is non-linearly positively correlated with the maximum queue length, and the earlier the interference time, the stronger the positive correlation. The negative correlation between the interference time and queue length is weak at low evacuation traffic volume. With the increase in evacuation traffic volume, the influence of evacuation time on queue length becomes stronger. The maximum queue length value interval under different conditions is [348 m, 3140 m], and the shortest evacuation time is [1649 s, 2834 s]. The traffic flow data obtained from the simulation are imported into the episodic traffic congestion evolution model. The congestion evaluation indexes are calculated under non-interference and interference measures and compared with the simulation results. The maximum relative error is within 5.38 %. The results can be of great significance in relieving congestion caused by traffic accidents and promptly restoring road capacity.

RESUMO

Estrogen signaling exerts a decisive role in female sex determination and differentiation in chicken and fish. Aromatase encoded by Cyp19a1 is the key enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of androgen to estrogen. Correlative analyses implicate the potential involvement of aromatase in reptilian sexual development, however, the direct genetic evidence is lacking. Herein, we found that Cyp19a1 exhibited temperature-dependent sexually dimorphic expression, and located in the medullary somatic cells in early female embryos of the red-eared slider turtle (Trachemys scripta elegans), before the gonad is distinct. To determine the functional role of Cyp19a1 in turtle ovarian determination, we established loss- and gain-of-function models through in ovo lentivirus-mediated genetic manipulation. At female-producing temperature, inhibition of aromatase or knockdown of Cyp19a1 in turtle embryos resulted in female-to-male sex reversal, with the formation of a testis-like structure and a male distribution pattern of germ cells, as well as ectopic expression of male-specific markers (SOX9 and AMH) and disappearance of ovarian regulator FOXL2. On the contrary, overexpression of Cyp19a1 at male-producing temperature led to male-to-female sex reversal. In conclusion, our results suggest that Cyp19a1 is both necessary and sufficient for ovarian determination in the red-eared slider turtle, establishing causality and a direct genetic link between aromatase and reptilian sex determination and differentiation.

RESUMO

Effective noise reduction and abnormal feature extraction are important for abnormal sound detection occurring in urban traffic operations. However, to improve the detection accuracy of continuous traffic flow and even overlapping vehicle bodies, effective methods capable to achieve accurate signal-to-noise ratio and appropriate characteristic parameters should be explored. In view of the disadvantages of traditional traffic detection methods, such as Short-Time Energy (STE) and Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC), this study adopts an improved spectral subtraction method to analyze traffic noise. Through the feature fusion of STE and MFCC coefficients, an innovative feature parameter, E-MFCC, is obtained, assisting to propose a traffic noise detection solution based on Triangular Wave Analysis (TWA). APP Designer in MATLAB was used to establish a traffic detection simulation platform. The experimental results showed that compared with the accuracies of traffic detection using the traditional STE and MFCC methods as 67.77% and 76.01%, respectively, the detection accuracy of the proposed TWA is significantly improved, attaining 91%. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the traffic detection method proposed in solving the overlapping problem, thus achieving accurate detection of road traffic volume and improving the efficiency of road operation.

RESUMO

An effective traffic control strategy will improve travel reliability in urban transportation networks. Lack of coordination between vehicles, however, exacerbates congestion due mainly to frequent stops at unsignalized intersections. It is beneficial to develop a conflict-free cooperation method that collects basic safety message from multiple approaching Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (for short, CAVs) and guarantees efficient unsignalized intersection operations with safe and incident free vehicle maneuvers. This paper proposes an interspersed traffic organization method under controlled constraints. Firstly, relied on shared location technology and considered the operating characteristics of CAVs at unsignalized intersections to detect and analyze traffic conflicts to establish a right-of-way judgment model for CAVs. In order to further ensure the safety and operating efficiency of the vehicle, based on the judgment results of right-of-way judgment model, a vehicle speed guidance model is established for different traffic conditions. Taking the real city standard intersection as the experimental analysis object, through data collection and simulation experiment, the signal control method and the organization method proposed in this paper are compared and analyzed. The results showed that the traffic organization method proposed in this paper improves the operational efficiency of 46%, the average travel time is reduced by 6.54s, which is not only better than the signal control method, but also supports the development of car networking technology.
