RESUMO

So far, several preliminary studies have been conducted on the effect of religious-spiritual education and care on the quality of life of women in different parts of Iran. Therefore, the current study aims to explore the effect of religious-spiritual education and care on the quality of life of Iranian women through systematic review and meta-analysis. Databases searched for studies related to the research objective include SID, MagIran, Embase, PubMed, Scopus, WoS, and Google Scholar. The search was performed using keywords linked to and validated with MeSH/Emtree with no time limit until April 2022. The I2 index was used to calculate the heterogeneity of the studies and the random effects model was used to combine the data and perform the meta-analysis. Finally, 14 articles with a sample size of 295 intervention group and 288 control group were included in the meta-analysis. The mean score of the quality of life after the intervention showed a significant increase of 1.87 ± 0.29 (95% confidence interval) per unit (P < 0.001). Meta-regression results showed that with the increasing year of study and age, the standardized mean difference decreased and with increasing the number of intervention sessions, this difference increased (P < 0.05). The results of this study show that religious-spiritual education and care significantly increase the quality of life of Iranian women. Therefore, it seems that the use of religious-spiritual education and care can be part of the program to increase the quality of life of women.

BACKGROUND: Cardiovascular disease accounts for 40% of the world's fatality and after accidents and traumas, is the second leading cause of death in Iran. Given the role of psychological characteristics such as hostility and anger in the development of certain behaviors and habits affecting heart problems, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between hostility and anger with coronary artery disease. METHODOLOGY: In this cross-sectional study, 320 patients referring to the hospital with coronary artery stenosis enrolled in the study and were available for angiography. Data collection tools included demographic and disease status questionnaires and aggression questionnaire. The data were analyzed by SPSS software version 16, and Spearman's correlation coefficient, Student's t-, and one-way analysis of variance tests was used for the statistical analysis. RESULTS: In this case, we have the following. Out of 302 cases, 183 were males and 119 were females. One hundred and ninety-seven patients with coronary artery disease and 105 patients with angiography had no coronary artery disease. CONCLUSION: People with coronary artery disease and healthy controls had no significant differences in demographic characteristics, history of illness, and education. Furthermore, there was no statistically significant relationship between hostility and anger with vasoconstriction. Since there is no relationship between hostility and anger with coronary artery disease, further studies are needed to investigate the presence of mediating variables to design appropriate and preventive interventions.

Introduction: Interpersonal communication in critical care units is one of the most important factors due to complicated and critical conditions of patients. Nurses' confrontation with ethical distresses and conflict resolution techniques are often influenced by the culture governing these units. This study aimed to explore interpersonal communication culture among critical care nurses. Methods: A focused ethnographic approach was used to conduct study in Iran. The research method was based on the research evolutionary cycle model recommended by Spradley (1980). Data were collected over six months through purposeful sampling and semi structured interviews (n=18) and participation observation (n=43). The data were obtained over six months of observation and interview with participants. Data analysis was done by Spradley method and was interpreted to discover the meaning units from the obtained themes. MAXQDA10 was used to manage data. Results: Five major domains of observations and high-level consensus were extracted in this study, including grouping, work-life interaction, professionalism, organizational atmosphere and experience. Conclusion: Development of interpersonal communication culture is influenced by various factors. Besides, the working models and nurses' use of workspace are indispensable components of effective communication at workplace. The findings of this study can be helpful in determining appropriate strategies and practices to resolve communication problems among nurses by specifying challenges, thereby leading to proper communication among nurses, promoting this communication and finally providing high quality and more effective care.

INTRODUCTION: Classroom management is leading the class by setting the class schedule, organizing the procedures, supervising the learners' progress, and predicting and solving their problems. Students' disruptive behaviors and classroom management are the most important challenges and concerns of the teachers. The current review aimed to analyze the classroom management techniques and strategies used to cope with the students' disruptive behaviors. METHODS: The present study was systematic review. The articles in Science Direct, PubMed and Scopus databases and Google Scholar search engine were searched using the keywords of classroom management, students' disruptive behaviors, difficult students, and confrontation strategies during 2000-2017. A total of 31 articles were included in the study for analysis. RESULTS: The results showed all the techniques and strategies used and teachers' challenges in dealing with students' disruptive behaviors were included in conflict management strategies, which were classified into three categories, i.e. cooperative and problem solving strategies, avoidance strategies and punishment strategies. Moreover, the studies mostly emphasized the use of cooperative and problem solving strategies, and the most highlighted methods were making effective mutual communication with students to correct their negative behavior, training and preparing the teachers for dealing with the students' disruptive behaviors and using various teaching methods and approaches based on the classroom situation. CONCLUSION: To cope with the challenges of students' disruptive behaviors, the teachers can use different strategies. Also, sufficient knowledge and skills about teaching, familiarity with the relevant and influential disciplines in dealing with students and making effective communication in the class can be helpful in developing and enjoying more effective skills in classroom management.

INTRODUCTION: Nausea and vomiting after ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery is one of the most common and notable problems facing anesthesiologists in this area. This study was conducted to determine the effect of a pharyngeal pack on the severity of nausea, vomiting, and sore throat among patients after ear, pharynx, and throat surgeries. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This randomized clinical study was performed in 140 patients (61 men and 79 women; age range, 20-40 years) who had undergone nasal surgery in 2010. Patients were divided into two groups: the first group were treated using a pharyngeal pack (case group) and the second group were managed without a pharyngeal pack (control group). Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-square test and the Mann-Whitney U test. SPSS software was used for data analysis. RESULTS: The mean severity of nausea and vomiting in the two groups was 2.057, 1.371 and 1.100, respectively, with no significant differences between groups. However, the mean severity of sore throat was 1.714 in the group with the pharyngeal pack and 1.385 in the group without pharyngeal pack (P=0.010). CONCLUSION: Not only does a pharyngeal pack in ENT surgery not reduce the extent and severity of nausea and vomiting, but it also increases the severity of sore throat in patients when leaving the recovery room and discharging hospital.
