RESUMO

A substantial decrease in the sympathoadrenal system catecholamines was found to be the case in muscular fatigue (the animals were running on a treadmill to refusal), as evidenced by experimental studies on white rats. Sympatholytics bring about marked reduction in the catecholamine content in hypothalamus, cerebral hemispheres and the heart, which fact contributes to the development of muscular fatigue. That this is really the case is indicated by a substantial shortening of time during which the animals were running until they came to be at the end of their tether subsequent upon administration of raucedil (2.5 mg/kg), (from 2 h 58 min. to 12 min). Fatigue was found out to be manifest as a result of the sympathoadrenal system reserves depletion.

RESUMO

In the last 10 years, no decrease in noise and vibration conditions has been registered at a geological survey enterprise. On the contrary, the introduction of new, more productive equipment caused increase in the indices. The unfavourable labour conditions have resulted in higher occupational morbidity levels caused by the otic nerve neurites. The article sets forth a package of measures towards minimizing the hazardous influence of noise and vibration on the workers' health status.

RESUMO

The study was designed to explore occupational morbidity levels, dynamics and structure in workers of the Krivbas ore works during 1961-1985. Workers' profession, age and length of service were taken into account. It was shown that further decrease of occupational morbidity could be achieved due to carrying out of the proposed recommendations.
