[Calpain inhibitors regulate the conversion of thyroid gland follicles in rats and humans]. / Ingibitory kal'painov reguliruiut konversiiu follikulov shchitovidnoi zhelezy krys i cheloveka.

Effects of calpain inhibitors on thyroid follicle conversion into monolayer was investigated. Human and rat primary thyroid cultures require the follicular structure after enzyme disaggregation of native tissue fragments. Removal of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) from the culture medium causes migration of thyrocytes from follicles into monolayer, some differences were noted in conversion of rat and human thyroid follicles. The locomotion of rat thyrocytes is observed after preliminary incubation with TSH, but migration of thyrocytes from human thyroid follicles does not require such a preincubation. Phorbol esters induce migration of rat and human thyroid cells. Calpain inhibitors exert a significant influence on locomotion of the thyroid gland cells induced by the removal of TSH from the culture medium. Human thyrocyte migration is markedly inhibited by calpain inhibitor I or II. Likewise, addition of calpain inhibitor I into primary culture of rat thyrocytes decreased the number of migrating cells by 52%, and shortened average migration distance by 34%. Also, calpain inhibitors reduced the speed of phorbol ether-induced conversion of rat and human thyroid follicles into monolayer.

The results of a systemic approach to training the students of the Faculty of Preventive Medicine, I. P. Pavlov Ryazan State Medical University during the reorganization of higher medical education in the country, which covered pre-higher higher, and post-higher education are presented. Prehigher education on the basis of school and the university assumes that students will obtain extended theoretical and practical skills in chemistry, anatomy, and biology. Higher education at the stage of propedeutic hygiene forms in students ideas of the significance of environmental factors for human health, the threshold of their action, and sanitary standardization.

Effect of disaggregation on calpain activity in explants from rat thyroid glands.

We studied the regulation of calpains in explants from rat thyroid glands. Collagenase disaggregation decreased proteinase activity in thyrocytes. It was hypothesized that this effect is mediated by heterotrimeric G proteins, protein kinase C, and tyrosine kinase, but not via Ca(2+) and cAMP-dependent signal pathway.

[The treatment of diabetic angiopathies by endovascular low-intensity laser irradiation]. / Lechenie diabeticheskikh angiopatii éndovaskuliarnym nizkointensivnym lazernym oblucheniem.

A study was made of the effect of endovascular laser irradiation of the blood with a He-Ne laser on blood rheological properties, tissue microcirculation and leukocyte function in 28 patients suffering from diabetes mellitus with diabetic angiopathies. A course of endovascular laser irradiation of the blood resulted in the improvement of a clinical course of angiopathies, indices of biomicroscopy of the eye conjunctiva as well as capillaroscopy and thermogenic activity of the limbs. Blood viscosity was significantly decreased; noticeable stimulation of leukocyte beta-galactosidase from 16.4 +/- 3.4 up to 26.8 +/- 4.4 nmol/h was observed. A conclusion has been made that laser therapy leads to significantly improved tissue microcirculation and prevents the development of pathological vascular changes.

Experiments on white male rats with novodrine-induced heart necrosis have shown that carnitine chloride increases the conjugation of respiration and phosphorylation in heart mitochondria of intact rats. The prophylactic and therapeutic application of the drug has a beneficial effect on energy formation in the myocardium. It is advisable to use carnitine for energodynamic heart insufficiency.

[Effect of heparin on enzyme processes in the myocardium and liver of animals of different ages]. / Vliianie geparina na fermentativnye protsessy miokarda i pecheni zhivotnykh raznogo vozrasta

Experiments conducted with albino mice and male-rats of different age have brought evidence that heparin is capable of raising the resistance of the organism to hypoxic hypoxia, stimulating the activity of NAD-dependent and inhibiting that of flavine-dependent dehydrogenases in the liver and myocardium of rats. It also inhibits peroxidation of lipids and the activity of lyzosomal enzymes in the liver, particularly in old animals. The expediency of a course-wise application of heparin, especially in old age, is suggested.
