RESUMO
The case of a ruptured, multilobular, plantar epidermal inclusion cyst is presented. The case is notable because the lesion involved the fourth common digital nerve. Magnetic resonance images of the foot are demonstrated. Treatment consisted of surgical excision without recurrence.

Vertical talus is an unusual pediatric deformity that often is unrecognized at birth. Its treatment is necessarily surgical and not typically addressed by the podiatric medical profession. In this case report, the enigmatic deformity is reviewed, along with a detailed photographic assay of useful techniques for its surgical reduction.

A method is described for recording from spinal alpha-motoneurons, which are identified according to muscle innervated, with an intracellular microelectrode during treadmill walking in awake, normally respiring, intact, adult cats. The procedure involves the implantation of an orthopedic-style spinal unit, the training of the subject to locomote on the treadmill with the lumbar region restrained, and the micropipette recording of motoneurons through a small laminotomy.
