RESUMO

AIM: Study the effect of single nucleotide polymorphism genes TP53 (rs1042522, rs1800371), CDKN2A (rs3731217, rs3088440) and MDM2 (rs2279744) on the risk of development of color- ectal cancer (CRC) in population of Perm Region. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Case group con- sisted of 198 patients with histologically verified CRC, control group - 205 individuals with CRC excluded by results of colonoscopy. DNA genotyping, obtained from leukocytes of venous blood ofthe studied individuals; was carried out by PCRwith electrophoretic detection of results. RESULTS: Significant inter-population differences of frequency of occurrence of alleles rs 1042522; rs3088440, rs2279744 in Russian population compared with East-Asian and European were detected (p<0.0001). Association of heterozygote (G/T) genotype rs2279744 with a lower risk of development of CRC regardless of sex and age (OR=0.51, 95% CI=0.26 - 0.97) was established. Statistically significant relations between development of CRC and other polymorphisms were not determined. CONCLUSION: Relations of gene polymorphism of apoptosis system with risk of development of CRC in Russian population was studied for the first time. The data obtained give evidence on the probable reduction of risk of development of CRC with carriage of hetero- zygote genotype of polymorphism rs2279744.

RESUMO

The authors demonstrate that work conditions for main occupations of sylvinite ore-dressing production (drying machine operator, granulation operator, drying and granulation dosage department operator, centrifuge operator, filtration operator, transporting machine operator in drying and granulation department, mill operator) are characterized by combined exposure to chemical and physical occupational hazards: formaldehyde, highly dispersed dust (PM,0), industrial noise, increased microclimate parameters. The work conditions are considered as hazardous (class 3.1, 3.2, 3.3). Findings are reliable increase of MDA level with lower general antioxidant defence in serum, when compared to the reference group. Increased homocysteine, lipoprotein with significant decreased nitrogen oxide production are seen. These processes can result in disordered structure and endothelial function of vessels, with higher prevalence of arterial hypertension. Values of MDA, antioxidant activity, homocysteine, lipoprotein (a), nitrogen oxide are justified as markers for early diagnosis of occupationally related arterial hypertension.

RESUMO

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality among all malignant tumors both in the world and in Russia. The purpose of the research was to study the association between diet and the probability of CRC in Perm Krai. The epidemiological analytical case-control study was performed. The questionnaire survey included 191 histologically proved colorectal cancer cases and 200 healthy individuals with excluded CRC by the results of colonoscopy. The surveyed groups were spread evenly by sex, age, ethnicity, place of residence and smoking (p>0.05). The odds to determine the following factors were higher in case group: diet including fried foods (OR=2.45, 95% CI: 1.58-3.80, p<0.0001), bread more 100 g per day (OR=1.72, 95% CI: 1.72-2.60, р=0.005), over-salted food (OR=1.97, 95% CI: 1.27-3.04, p=0.001), consumption of spicy foods (OR=2.82, 95% CI: 1.59-5.13, p<0.0001) and dairy products less than 500 g per week (OR=3.94, 95% CI: 2.60-5.97, p<0.0001). The odds to determine the following factors were higher in control group: an exclusion of processed (OR=0.45, 95% CI: 0.28-0.70, p<0.0001) and red meat (OR=0.19, 95% CI: 0.05-0.51, p<0.0001). Consequently, at the present study the diet factors that have a higher rate in group of CRC patient's compared to healthy individuals have been determined. This requires to study interaction between diet, another environmental and genetic factors.

RESUMO

The results of immunological control of infections with different mechanisms of the transmission of their causative agents (diphtheria, measles, viral hepatitis, salmonellosis) for many years are summarized. About 25,000 serum samples taken from humans and more than 10,000 probes from agricultural animals have been studied in the passive hemagglutination test and more than 3,600 serum samples have been studied in the enzyme immunoassay for the presence viral hepatitis markers. Planned immunological control has ensured greater possibilities of the epidemiological diagnosis and prognostication of complications in the epidemic and epizootic situations. Urgent immunological control has made it possible to establish the proportion of non-manifest forms of diseases, to differentiate the foci of infection by transmission routes, to determine the degree of protection from infection and to substantiate the tactics of individual immunization.

RESUMO

The dependence of immune response on commonly observed immunity characteristics prior to immunization has been established on the basis of the study of the kinetics of immune response in adults receiving injections of adsorbed diphtheria-tetanus (DT) toxoid with reduced antigen content, both for routine immunization and on epidemiological indications. The necessity of the practical use of immunological screening for the differentiated approach to the choice of a suitable preparation (adsorbed diphtheria toxoid, adsorbed DT toxoid or adsorbed DT toxoid with reduced antigen content) and immunization schedule for adults, especially in epidemic foci, has been substantiated.
