RESUMO
RESUMEN El enfrentamiento a la COVID-19 constituye un desafío para los profesionales de la salud en Cuba esencialmente con los cuidados a la población. El trabajo tiene como objetivo describir el desempeño social del especialista en Medicina General Integral en el enfrentamiento a la COVID-19. Se realizó un estudio que evidenció el desempeño social de este especialista en el enfrentamiento epidemiológico a la COVID-19.
ABSTRACT The confrontation with COVID-19 constitutes a challenge for health professionals in Cuba, essentially with care for the population. The objective of the work is to describe the social performance of the specialist in Comprehensive General Medicine in the confrontation with COVID-19. A study was carried out that showed the social performance of this specialist in the epidemiological confrontation with COVID-19.

La oftalmología cubana tiene el alto honor de ocupar una posición solidaria de apoyo, compromiso y trabajo con tan hermosa tarea para bien de los pueblos entre ellos Venezuela. Por el elevado diagnóstico de catarata nos motivamos a describir este problema de salud en las comunidades asistidas, con el objetivo de describir algunas variables en pacientes con diagnóstico de catarata atendidos en el primer trimestre del año 2015. Se utilizaron técnicas de estadística descriptiva para cuantificar y analizar los datos obtenidos. Como principales resultados sobresale el sexo femenino con 59.83 por ciento y las edades de 61 a 70 años (27.7 por ciento) así como de 71 a 80 años (30.19 por ciento), fue notorio que el diagnóstico aumentó con la edad, la atención de pacientes con diagnóstico de catarata fue semejante en las tres regiones asistidas, del total de pacientes con diagnóstico de catarata (361) recibieron intervención quirúrgica 43 pacientes y la mayoría no presentó complicaciones 61.53 por ciento, un grupo de los pacientes con cataratas también tuvo enfermedades asociadas como diabetes 20.49 por ciento e hipertensión 18.83 por ciento, se destacaron los pacientes con catarata de opacificación total 42.30 por ciento. Fue posible describir las variables principales relacionadas con el diagnóstico de catarata en los pacientes de las tres comunidades asistidas, lo que sirve de base para posteriores estudios de tipo analítico(AU)
The Cuban ophthalmology has the high honor of occupying a supportive position of support, commitment and work with such a beautiful task for the good of the peoples including Venezuela. Due to the high diagnosis of cataract, we were motivated to describe this health problem in the assisted communities, with the aim of describing some variables in patients with cataract diagnosed in the first quarter of 2015. Descriptive statistics techniques were used to quantify and analyze the data obtained. As the main results the female sex with 59.83 percent and the ages of 61 to 70 years (27.7 percent) as well as 71 to 80 years (30.19 percent) stands out, it was notorious that the diagnosis increased with age, the care of patients with diagnosis of cataract was similar in the three assisted regions of the total of patients with cataract diagnosis (361) received surgical intervention 43 patients and the majority did not present complications 61.53 percent, a group of patients with cataracts also had associated diseases such as diabetes 20.49 percent. And hypertension 18.83 percent, the patients with total opacification cataract 42.30 percent were outstanding. It was possible to describe the main variables related to the diagnosis of cataract in the patients of the three assisted communities, which serves as a basis for subsequent analytical studies(EU)
