RESUMO

A new approach is proposed for the choice of low-frequency magnetic therapy on an individual basis using the results of analysis of heart rhythm variability. The clinical efficiency of low-frequency magnetic therapy incorporated in the combined treatment of 65 patients aged between 25 and 45 years with essential arterial hypertension was estimated. The statistically significant positive effects of the treatment included normalization of blood pressure and characteristics of heart rhythm variability as well as resolution of clinical symptoms of vegetative dysregulation.

RESUMO

A study was made of effects of transcardiac galvanization (TCG) on activities of a panel of oxidation-reduction enzymes as well as on the cardiac muscle content of high energy substrates, and size of the lesion area, in experimental myocardial infarction (EMI) in 50 albino male rats. After two TCG procedures, and at 24-h EMI, augmentation was found of activities of succinic dehydrogenase, lactate dehydrogenase, NADH-dehydrogenase, beta-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase, both in the area of profound ischemia and peri-infarction myocardium, this being accompanied with an increase in myocardial content of adenosine triphosphate, creatine phosphate, and glycogen, and reduction of the developing mass of necrosis. Stimulation of enzyme activity in the course on the enzyme complex and membrane-stabilizing action of this preformed physical factor.

RESUMO

The authors examined 110 males and females admitted to hospital within 6 hours since the onset of new macrofocal anterior myocardial infarction running without complications. All the patients underwent transcardiac galvanization (TG) in the initial disease hours. Precardiac mapping, tetrapolar rheography and clinical observation provided evidence on TG course action on the necrosis mass, central hemodynamics and clinical appearance of the disease in the acute and postinfarction periods. TG promoted faster and more marked improvement of cardiac muscle contractility, attaining higher functional level of inotropic myocardial activity up to the disease month 6. This was associated with alleviation of circulatory disorders both at the hospital and postinfarction stage. The response to course TG results from cardioprotective action of constant electric current on ischemic myocardium which limits the zone of the lesion thus reducing early fatal cases number and preventing cardiogenic shock.

RESUMO

It is established, using Langendorff's perfusion method, that the constant current improves the energetic metabolism of the isolated heart during its reoxygenation. The constant current increases the intensity of the succinate oxidation, exerts a membrane stabilizing effect on the cardiomyocytes, stimulates intracellular reparative processes in the damaged myocardium.

RESUMO

The impact of transcardiac galvanization on the pattern and incidence of complications occurring in the hospital period was studied by using the data of examination of 110 patients with primary uncomplicated large anterior myocardial infarction who had been admitted to the hospital no later than 6 hours of the onset. ECG monitoring, echocardiography, X-ray graphy, echocardiography, and clinical study were used. It was found that a course of transthoracic galvanization in the multimodality therapy for acute myocardial infarction contributed to a more rapid relief of the pain syndrome, to a decrease in the incidence of cardiac rhythm and conduction disturbances, in relapses of myocardial infarction, left ventricular aneurysm, early postinfarction angina pectoris in the hospital period.

RESUMO

Transcardiac galvanization effect was assessed in 76 patients with primary noncomplicated macrofocal anterior myocardial infarction admitted to hospital within initial 6 hours of the disease. As shown by the evidence obtained at bicycle ergometry, tetrapolar rheography and clinical examination, transcardiac galvanization within 3 days of the infarction enhances hospital physical rehabilitation course, increases exercise tolerance by the disease month 6, promotes an increase in myocardial maximal oxygen consumption, increases coronary reserve and improves cardiac contractility.

RESUMO

The effect of direct electric current (DEC), 0.4 mA, on the ultrastructure of normal perfusing isolated heart and in the course of its postischemic reperfusion was studied on the model of isolated rat heart using Langedorf method. DEC was shown to exert a normalizing, membrane-stabilizing effect on the subcellular organization of isolated heart CMC in the course of its normothermic perfusion. The observed changes are considered to attest to the adaptive aspect of the current effect on the ultrastructure of the myocardium under these conditions. In ischemia-reperfusion, DEC also facilitated marked stabilization of cardiomyocytes membranes and stimulation of intracellular reparative processes of the affected cardiac muscle.

RESUMO

The model of experimental myocardial infarction in rats was used to study the effect of procedures of transcardiac galvanization (the current power 4 mA, duration 60 min) on the condition of the peri-infarction zone microcirculatory bed. The morphometric studies of the microcirculatory bed were performed using PAS reaction with amylase using a net with equidistant points. Two runs of transcardiac galvanization by the end of the first 24 hours of myocardial infarction was shown to improve the condition of the capillary network, to increase the relative and absolute area of the capillaries, the number of opened reserve capillaries, to reduce the distance of oxygen and metabolites diffusion from capillaries to cardiomyocytes in the peri-infarction zone thereby creating favourable conditions for the remaining viable myocardium and for stabilization of the affected zone.
