A study investigating the validity of Mobley's (1977) model of the intermediate linkages in the turnover decision process among employees working in two diverse settings yielded a pattern of results generally consistent with the model. However, except for commitment to the organization, regression analyses failed to double cross-validate either within or between samples.

In a double blind trial with 20 patients ibuprofen 1600 mg daily and indomethacin 100 mg daily were shown to be of comparable efficacy in the short-term treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Reported side effects were similar, but a slightly greater incidence of gastric irritation was noted with indomethacin necessitating withdrawal of one patient from the trial. The serum concentrations for indomethacin and ibuprofen were determined for four hours after the last dose. Peak concentrations of both drugs occurred within two hours. Five of the seven patients considered to have comparable serum concentrations of both drugs demonstrated a preference for indomethacin.

Current medication for Huntingtons chorea is based on compounds which affect the activity of acetylcholine and dopamine in the basal ganglia and is unsatisfactory. This report describes a small clinical trial of dopamine antagonists, tetrabenazine (Nitoman) and pimozide (Orap). Improvement was early and striking but was not maintained over the trial period of 83 weeks.

An extract of the New Zealand green mussel did not show any greater effect than a placebo when given to five patients with rheumatoid arthritis in a double-blind crossover trial.
