[A system for assessing the stability of the osteosynthesis in femoral neck fractures]. / Sistema otsenki stabil'nosti osteosinteza perelomov sheiki bedra.

Results of experimental investigation of different biomechanical parameters of the system "bone-fixative" and bony fixatives are analyzed in relation to different types of fractures of the femur neck. The data obtained are compared with clinical results of osteosynthesis. On this basis an index system is recommended for choosing the method of treatment of fractures and the particular type of the fixative.

Operative treatment of fractures of the femur neck is the method of choice. The authors prefer the A. Seppo construction out of great number of fixtures but it is difficult to introduce and remove this fixture due to its complexity. To make the procedure of such interventions easier the authors propose a marking device, a screwdriver and a device allowing the fixture's curvature to be regulated. The modification of the technique and using a specially developed extractor is explained by difficulties in removing the fixture by common methods. The variant of the improved instrumental tooling proposed by the authors makes the operation more handy and practicable.

Osteosynthesis designed by A. I. Seppo is the method of choice in the treatment of fracture of the neck of the femur. Extracting the fixative elements with a standard extractor requires an additional trepanation of the bone. The authors have proposed an instrument to remove crivilinear fixatives that assume the proper direction of the extracting force, thus reducing the traumatism of the intervention.
