The Beverton-Hold model on isolated time scales.

In this work, we formulate the Beverton-Holt model on isolated time scales and extend existing results known in the discrete and quantum calculus cases. Applying a recently introduced definition of periodicity for arbitrary isolated time scales, we discuss the effects of periodicity onto a population modeled by a dynamic version of the Beverton-Holt equation. The first main theorem provides conditions for the existence of a unique ω -periodic solution that is globally asymptotically stable, which addresses the first Cushing-Henson conjecture on isolated time scales. The second main theorem concerns the generalization of the second Cushing-Henson conjecture. It investigates the effects of periodicity by deriving an upper bound for the average of the unique periodic solution. The obtained upper bound reveals a dependence on the underlying time structure, not apparent in the classical case. This work also extends existing results for the Beverton-Holt model in the discrete and quantum cases, and it complements existing conclusions on periodic time scales. This work can furthermore guide other applications of the recently introduced periodicity on isolated time scales.

Global attractors, extremal stability and periodicity for a delayed population model with survival rate on time scales.

In this paper, we investigate the existence of global attractors, extreme stability, periodicity and asymptotically periodicity of solutions of the delayed population model with survival rate on isolated time scales given by $ x^{\Delta} (t) = \gamma(t) x(t) + \dfrac{x(d(t))}{\mu(t)}e^{r(t)\mu(t)\left(1 - \frac{x(d(t))}{\mu(t)}\right)}, \ \ t \in \mathbb T. $ We present many examples to illustrate our results, considering different time scales.

Reabilitação pulmonar na doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica: [revisão] / Pulmonary rehabilitation in the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: [review]

A reabilitação pulmonar é uma estratégia de tratamento interdisciplinar, que é individualizada para as necessidades dos pacientes. Está bem documentado que a reabilitação pulmonar leva a uma melhoria e a resultados em muitas áreas, incluindo sintomas, capacidade nos exercícios, status funcional e de saúde. A doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica é a principal doença pulmonar envolvida com a reabilitação. Neste artigo de revisão, enfatizamos os benefícios, a melhora na qualidade de vida, influência nas hospitalizações, técnicas de exercícios, educação, suporte psicológico, nos pacientes portadores de doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica que se submetem à reabilitação pulmonar.

Pulmonary rehabilitation is an interdisciplinary treatment strategy, which is individualized according to the patients' needs. It is well documented that pulmonary rehabilitation leads to an improvement and results in several areas, including symptoms, capability to exercise, functional status, and in health. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a major pulmonary disease related to rehabilitation. In this reviewing article, we emphasized the benefits, the improvement in quality of life, influence on hospitalization, exercise techniques, instruction, and psychological support in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease -bearer patients submitted to pulmonary rehabilitation.
