[Pure primary carcinoid tumor of the testis. Apropos of a case]. / Tumeur carcinoïde pure primitive du testicule. A propos d'un cas.

The authors report a case of pure primary carcinoid tumour of the testis. This is a rare tumour which can only be diagnosed by histological examination of the resection specimen. They may be primary or metastatic, with radically different prognoses. The diagnosis of such lesions requires the search for the primary carcinoid tumour.

The development of ultrasonography has allowed the antenatal diagnosis of various forms of obstructive uropathy. The diagnosis of urinary tract dilatation is now possible by the 15th week of pregnancy. More recently, the study of foetal urine biochemistry has defined the prognostic factors of the course of postnatal renal function. The authors define and limit the current indications for the various antenatal interventions on the basis of the combination of antenatal ultrasonography and foetal urine biochemistry.

[A silica urinary calculus secondary to the absorption of gelopectose in a child]. / Calcul urinaire de silice secondaire à l'absorption de gélopectose chez l'enfant.

The authors report a case of silica-containing urinary stones in a child. This drug-induced urinary stone was secondary to absorption of Gelopectose and its composition was confirmed by infrared spectrophotometry. Other cases have been diagnosed but have not yet been published. Patients with such urinary stones should be investigated for possible hypercalciuria or a disorder of H+ metabolism in the context of distal tubular acidosis, which may be incomplete and/or transient.
