RESUMO

We studied morphological changes in rat abdominal aorta and vena cava inferior induced by endovascular microwave destruction. This treatment induced thrombosis and necrosis of the vascular walls, but fibrous framework was not completely destroyed. Then we observed irreversible changes in vessels: obliteration, atrophy of the aorta walls, and sclerosis of venous walls. The preserved fibrous framework of the vessel walls probably plays a role of a framework for the formation of fibrous tissue.

RESUMO

The morphology of aneurysmal bone cysts (ABC) in 10 children was studied by light and scanning electron microscopy. Angiodysplasia signs and disorder of bone remodeling occur in ABC areas leading to secondary hemodynamic disorders and abnormal bone remodeling with predominance of resorption in dynamics of remodeling.

RESUMO

We studied morphological changes in the liver after local MW-destruction. Microwave radiation damaged vascular walls with the formation of extensive necrotic focus; demarcation zone appeared 24 h after exposure, encapsulation occurred after 7 days, and replacement with a fine cicatrix formed by mature connective tissue after 4 months.

RESUMO

Biochemical studies of elastin from human large arteries wall were carried out using both native and treated with formaldehyde protein. No differences were observed in sensitivity of native and formaldehyde treated elastin to the effect of various proteases and to alkaline-alcohol hydrolysis. Fractions obtained after enzymatic and alkaline hydrolysis were similar in their composition.

RESUMO

The results of morphological studies on the structure of mineral deposits in the walls of major arteries in atherosclerosis are presented. Calcium deposits looking like petrificates and microgranular deposits were found. The petrificates consisted of microgranular, microcrystalline and macrocrystalline deposits of calcium salts. In the arterial wall, the crystals consisted of calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate. The relationship between the destruction of elastic fibers and elastic membranes and calcification of the vascular wall was confirmed.

RESUMO

By the method of raster electron microscopy, the structure of the elastic carcass in the human aortic arc walls and the common carotid arteries were investigated at the age of 30--40 years. Preliminary preparation of vessel samples helped to reveal elastic structures with the preserved interconnections. Peculiar features of the elastic carcass components in the sheaths of the vessel wall were demonstrated. The fenestrated membranes and elastic plexus were found to be interconnected and form a single structural complex of the elastic formations in the middle sheath of the vessels studied.

RESUMO

The work presents data on the relief of the endothelial surface of initial portions of the common carotid artery and the common iliac artery of adult man obtained by the method of scanning electron microscopy. In middle-aged humans this relief has all the characteristic features which were noted in studying the aorta. Considerable changes of the endothelial surface relief were shown in elderly and old people in connection with the development of atherosclerosis. Postmortem alterations can result in sharp distortion of the endothelial surface relief.

RESUMO

Scanning electron microscopy was used to study the architectonics of the connective tissue fiber framework in the walls of large arteries. Preliminary treatment of the vascular samples with proteolytic enzymes (protorysin, trypsin) offered a possibility of determining peculiarities attending distribution and interrelations of collagen and elastic fibers in different strata of the vascular wall.

RESUMO

Changes in the relief of the endothelial surface of the common carotid artery common iliac artery in man in the postmortem period were studied by the method of scanning electron microscopy. It is established that the normal relief of the inner surface of the vessels could be studied only during the first few hours after death. Rapidly developing postmortem changes lead to drastic distortion of the stratified endothelial surface and to desquamation of the endothelial lining. On the 2nd and 3rd day of the postmortem period the relief of the inner surface of the vessel is determined by the elements which are incorporated into the composition of the subendothelial layer of the intima.

RESUMO

The work presents data on the structure of intramural blood vessels of the aorta arc and initial portions of common carotid arteries of men. It was shown that in elderly and old people there were clear manifestations of transformation of the microcirculatory bed and larger intramural arteries and veins, which might be due to altered conditions of metabolism.
