RESUMO

The author presents many accidental but important details that helped Finderl to construct his "Extractor 1949". Up to October 25. 1959 he used it successfully in the Ward of Obstetrics in Rijeka. "Extractor 1949" was widely used in West Europe, Asia and America. However, the technically improved Malmstroem's vacuum extractor substituted the Finderl's model and similar vacuum extractors. A modified version of Findler's extractor is still in use in China, and Malmstroem's vacuum extractor is used all over the world (also in Yugoslavia).

RESUMO

In order to avoid any risk in labour of the second twin-baby, the author had developed a special new method. By this method the second baby is always born by head. If the head of the second twin-baby is not coming first, then gyneacologist should push, with his hand, the back of the foetus to the fundus in the vagina while, at the same time, he should push with his other hand the foetal head toward the pelvis entry. In this way the amnion is not torn off until the turn has not been completed, and the head brought to the entry of the pelvis. The further labour is then performed as any other normal labour.

RESUMO

The author describes amnitom of personal construction. Thanks to curving of amnitom in the direction of the passing line, amnitomy is always practicable.

RESUMO

The article deals with 140 cardiotocographic curves during opening and 147 curves during expulsion in puerpera in whom delivery was performed under cardiotocography and pH-metry. During different changes of foetal heart frequency pH values of foetal blood were determined. On the basis of cardiotocographic changes the examined group was divided into several subgroups. In each group the mean values of current pH were compared with the mean values of the control group. The control group consisted of 41 cardiotocographic curves during opening and 41 during expulsion in patients with normal delivery and clear foetal liquid. The pH of foetal blood was determined during opening and expulsion. Mean pH values of foetal blood were significantly lower during opening with expressed variable DIP-I and DIP-II as well as with slight and strong bradicardy. During expulsion a significant fall of mean pH values was observed only in the group with expressed variable DIP-I and DIP-II. Consequently the Apgar score of newborn infants was reduced. The mean pH values in other cardiotocographic changes were decreased but statistically insignificant. The same was observed in Apgar score.

RESUMO

The musculature of the isthmic and ampullar segment of the human oviduct reacts to Prostaglandin F-2 alpha by the increased tonus. The tonus increased was more pronounced in the musculature of the gravid oviduct. Prostaglandin F-2 alpha in the presence of Indomethacin products a significantly lower tonus increase of the musculature of the isthmic and ampullar segment of the non-gravid human oviduct than is the case when applied alone.

RESUMO

In the isolated strips of the individual parts of the human uterus (body, corns, cervix) histamine, promethazine, and cimethidine, proportionally to the dose applied, have proved to increase the muscular tonus. The blocking agents of histamine H-1 receptors (promethazine) and H-2 receptors (cimetidine), separately or jointly administered in the dose of 10 micrograms/ml, significantly diminish the tonicizing effect of histamine. The effect of histamine on the uterine muscular tonus is brought about through histamine H-1 and histamine H-2 receptors.

RESUMO

In the uterus body of nongravid and gravid women, proportionally to the dose used, histamine, promethazine, and cimetidine produce an increased muscular tonus, which is more pronounced in gravid uteri. The blocking agent of histamine H-1 receptors, promethazine, and the blocking agent of histamine H-2 receptors, cimetidine, separately or jointly applied in a dose of 10 micrograms/ml, significantly decrease the tonicizing effect of histamine. Histamine exerts its influence on the muscular tonus of the body of nongravid and gravid human uteri through histamine H-1 and histamine H-2 receptors.

RESUMO

The results of the use of Prostin E2 in the induction of labour in 46 pregnant women were compared with the results obtained by Sandopart in 40 pregnant women. To avoid the effect of amnyotomy, both groups were examined without carrying out routine amnyotomy. The results have shown that a significantly better efficacy in the induction of labour was obtained with Prostin E2. This efficacy was very good regardless of the cervix assessed by the Bishop score, while the reaction of the uterus to Sandopart proved the poorer the lower the Bishop score. The mother's condition, established by clinical and laboratory examinations, did not change significantly in the course or after the administration of Prostin E2. Nor did the condition of infants, assessed by the Apgar score, differ from the condition of children from the group of labour induced by Sandopart. This shows that the induction by Prostin E2 is just as efficacious as the induction by Sandopart if the cervix is mature; if the cervix is not mature, the induction by Prostin E2 is even more efficacious.
