RESUMO
Las anomalías congénitas del riñón y del tracto urinario representan un porciento importante de todas las anomalías identificadas en el periodo neonatal, dando lugar a una amplia variedad de desórdenes; por este motivo se implementó la presente investigación, con el objetivo de describir el comportamiento de las malformaciones congénitas renales en la edad pediátrica, ocurridas en la provincia de Mayabeque durante el segundo semestre del año 2013. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo prospectivo de corte transversal, con el universo de los niños atendidos en la consulta de nefrología pediátrica provincial del Hospital General Docente Aleida Fernández Chardiet, del municipio de Güines, en la referida provincia. La muestra quedó conformada por los 18 niños con malformaciones renales, que fueron atendidos de julio a diciembre de 2013. En el 50 por ciento de ellos se les realizó el diagnosticó durante el primer año de vida y predominó en el sexo masculino (66,6 por ciento). El 50 por ciento asistió a consulta por infección del tracto urinario y todos los pacientes presentaron alteraciones en el ultrasonido y la gammagrafía. Estos resultados permiten conocer el comportamiento de las malformaciones renales y tomar una conducta adecuada para mejorar la calidad de vida en estos pacientes (AU)
Kidney and urinary tract congenital anomalies represent an important percentage of all the anomalies identified in the neonatal period, leading to a wide variety of disorders. In order to solve this problem, the present investigation aims at describing the behavior of renal congenital malformations in pediatric patients in the province of Mayabeque during the second semester of 2013. A descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional study was carried out with the universe of the children treated at the provincial pediatric nephrology consultation of Aleida Fernández Chardiet General Teaching Hospital from Güines, in the above- mentioned province. The sample was formed by 18 children with renal malformations who were treated from July to December 2013. Fifty percent of them were diagnosed during the 1srt year of life, with a predominance of the masculine sex (66, 6 percent). Nine children attended the consultation due to urinary tract infections and all of them experienced modifications at both, the ultrasound and scintigraph exams. These results allow knowing the behavior of renal malformations and following a proper conduct to improve the quality of life in these patients (AU)
