RESUMO
The FEMA program for the seismic rehabilitation of building in the both the private and public sectors consists of a coherent, comprehensive set of documents for the use of a rather broad audience consisting principally of practitioners, building regulatory personnel and researchers. The major FEMA - sponsored publications completed to date for the Private Sector cover the subjects of (1) methods for rapid identification of buildings that are potentially earthquake hazardous (2) methods for detailed seismic evaluation of potentially hazardous building, (3) seismic rehabilitation techniques, (4) coast of rehabilitation, (5) a benefit-coast model, with the necessary software to rum it, and (6) engineering and societal issues that should be considered in the development of nationally applicable building seismic rehabilitation guidelines (AU)
