RESUMO

The results of the first global grafting of the thymus and a thymus-sternum block are given. The grafting of immunocompetent organs in children with the Louis-Bar syndrome is shown to cause to a partial and in some cases significant recovery of immunological parameters. Thus, blast-cell transformation showed 10-40% increases, the titers of antibodies to Staphylococcus and Escherichia coli rose, and immunoglobulin A that was generally absent in these children before surgery appeared. The clinical effect of grafting was noticeably observed 20-30 days after surgery. The most significant parameters were as follows: cessation of sinusitis, rhinitis, bronchitis, and purulent skin lesions. Neurological syndromes improved: tremor and staggering gait diminished, ocular convergence normalized. Thereafter such operations were made in 27 patients with Bruton's disease and in 3 patients with lymphogranulomatosis. The grafting of immunocompetent organs led to the design of agents derived from the thyroid gland (Tactivin) and bone marrow (myelopid). The immunobiological and clinical effects of Tactivin in the past 15-20 years are given in detail. The basic principles in immunomodulating therapy with thymic agents are presented.

RESUMO

In 88 patients with purulent wounds in diabetes mellitus the course of wound healing was studied depending on the type of the disease. Clinical and morphological distinctions of the wound process in type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus were revealed.

RESUMO

Before pancreatic islet cell transplantation, the share of diabetes mellitus type 1 patients with immunodeficient conditions amounted to 70.1%. After the surgery it was equal to 22.5%. In diabetes mellitus type 2 these values were 79 and 18%, respectively. The xenotransplantation leads to elevation of T-lymphocytes level in diabetic patients with T-dependent and B-dependent immunodeficiency, but does not correct T-helpers/T-suppressors ratio, which was abnormal in diabetics with autoimmune disorders.

RESUMO

Immune status was studied in 57 diabetes mellitus patients with wound healing. T- and B-lymphocyte systems exhibited features specific for type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus. The authors conclude on the usefulness of individual approach to immune correction in diabetics.

RESUMO

The necessity to consider the effect of psychotropic agents on the human organism as on the integral system interrelated with the environment is grounded. The need of applying the pattern recognition theory techniques which allow to analyze the integral state of the organism is substantiated. An illustration of the analysis of a psychotropic agent cathinone by using these techniques is presented.

RESUMO

The effect of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-9-THC) on the goal-directed behavior was studied by the pattern recognition theory methods on cats trained for a differentiated response, to structured visual stimuli. Administration of delta-9-THC was shown to cause noncoordination of certain neocortex regions as well as disagreement of temporal characteristics of the processes involved in the goal-directed behavior organization.

RESUMO

Evoked visual potentials in associated, parietal and second somatosensory zones of the neocortex were analysed in trained cats using implanted electrodes. The influence of bemethyl on the structure of behavioral reactions was analysed using theoretical methods of perceptual images, particularly the method of cluster analysis. Bemethyl was shown to increase the level of interaction between the functional elements of the system, leading to a more stable resolution of problems facing the system, as compared to the initial state.
