RESUMO

An analysis of treatment results was made in 83 patients with traumatic parenchymatous injuries of frontal lobes of the brain. Surgical interventions were performed in 31 patients and the conservative therapy was carried out in 52 patients. Regular neurological examinations were completed for all the patients. The data of neurovisual methods were estimated. A strategy of treatment of frontal lobes injury depends on not only from the traumatic substratum volume, but at the same time, it is formed by clinical neurologic constellations and instrumental data in traumatic injury of frontal lobes of the brain. Risk factors of unfavorable effect of traumatic parenchymatous injury of frontal lobes of the brain were reflected in the initially low GCS score, a neurologic deficit progression with contusion haemorrhagic foci in the frontal lobe (volume greater than 25 cm3), a midline shift on 6 mm or more and signs of base cistern compression and presence of mass-effect, according to CT scan data. The developed algorithm could improve the results of treatment and makes better the quality of life of the patients with traumatic parenchymatous injuries of frontal lobes of the brain.

RESUMO

The role of the intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) in the remodeling of a fetal parotid gland at late pregnancy has been presented in the paper. Thirty fetal parotid glands at 20-22 weeks gestation, including, 20--with IUGR and 10--at physiological pregnancy (control) were studied morphologically and morphometrically. Results have shown violations of gland's growth and differentiation, increased volume fraction of pathologic changes. Above mentioned processes may cause salivary glands' dysfunction, which eventually could result in child's dental caries.

RESUMO

A case is reported of management of massive intraoperative blood loss in a male patient with severe hemophilia. Extirpation of hip pseudotumor with one-stage osteosynthesis with an intramedullary joint-pin in a 43 year old male patient was accompanied with 7.5 l blood loss. The infusion-transfusion therapy (ITT) contained transfusion media about 1/3 of the total volume, fresh-frozen plasma and erythrocyte-containing media were used 1:1. Infusion solutions consisted of balanced polyelectrolytic solutions, hydroxyethylated starches 130/0.4, hyperchaes. Intraoperative normovolemic hemodilution and reinfusion of wound blood were made (CellSaver). ITT target markers were standard hemodynamics control tests. Hemostasis monitoring was conducted with thromboelastography. Complex ITT based on modern principles of clinical transfusiology provided a complete and safe compensation of massive intraoperative blood loss in a patient with severe hemophilia.

RESUMO

Muscle fibers composition was investigated in vastus lateralis muscles of 103 skaters. In the total population of skaters muscle fibers composition was as follows: muscle fibers, type I--in 54 +/- 2%, muscle fibers, type II A--in 35 +/- 1% and muscle fibers, type II B--in 11 +/- 1%. 13 +/- 8% muscle fibers, type I; 1.56 +/- 6% muscle fibers, type II A and 31 +/- 7% muscle fibers, type II B were observed in the muscles of sprinters, while the muscles of long-distance skaters contained 60 +/- 4%, 33 +/- 4% and 7 +/- 2% muscle fibers, respectively.

RESUMO

Clinical, morphological, biochemical and bacteriological examinations have shown the immobilized proteolytic enzyme "profezym" to shorten the phase of cleaning the wound and in combination with antiseptic drugs to lessen the bacterial dissemination of the tissues as well as to strengthen and accelerate regeneration processes both in acute pyo-necrotic diseases and in continuous non-healing wounds.
