Preclinical Study of Therapeutic Efficacy of a New Russian Radiopharmaceutical 177Lu-DOTA-PSMA.

The therapeutic efficacy of a Russian radiopharmaceutical 177Lu-DOTA-PSMA was studied in vivo using male BALB/c nu/nu (nude) mice with prostate carcinoma 22Rv1 xenografts by tumor growth inhibition criterion. The mean tumor volumes in mice treated with 177Lu-DOTA-PSMA were significantly lower than in animals of the control group. There were no significant differences in the values of tumor growth inhibition between the groups of animals receiving 3.7 or 7.4 MBq of 177Lu-DOTA-PSMA.

[Antitumor immunotherapy with the use of synthetic fragments of survivin].

The endogenous protein survivin is present in tumor cells and inhibits apoptosis. The influence of vaccination of mice by survivin fragments on growth of various types of tumors was studied to examine the possibility of creation of an antitumor vaccinating agent on its basis. Two peptides corresponding to the (118-144) and (80-88)-(153-165) sequences of survivin 2B were chosen and synthesized on the basis of literature data and theoretical calculations. Their ability to stimulate antibody production in mice of the C57BL/6J line (b haplotype) and in BDF1 hybrids (b x d haplotype) was investigated. Both peptides were shown to stimulate production of antibodies that bound the recombinant survivin in the BDF1 mice. Immunization of the BDF1 and C57BL/6J mice with the recombinant survivin resulted in the formation of antibodies that reacted with the (118-144) peptide. The effect of preventive vaccination with the peptides and the recombinant protein on the dynamics of growth of several species of tumors was studied. Vaccination with the (80-88)-(153-165) peptide was found to cause an antitumor effect in BDF1 mice suffering from sarcoma S-37. Thus, the creation of an antitumor agent on the basis of this peptide is a promising area of further studies.

[The forensic psychiatric expertise of victims who received craniocerebral trauma in a criminal situation]. / Sudebno-psikhiatricheskaia ékspertiza poterpevshikh, poluchivshikh cherepno-mozgovuiu travmu v kriminal'noi situatsii.

Thirty victims of criminal situations with craniocerebral injuries were examined. Clinical picture and time course of changes in the mental disorders, that are the most important for practical forensic medical expert evaluation, were analyzed, and approaches to the choice of the correct expert conclusion in assessment of the severity of injuries and of the victims' abilities discussed.

Two groups of adolescent victims of sexual assault were studied, conformities of psychogenic state occurrence were analysed, age characteristics of their clinical course and dynamics were studied. Problems of forensic psychiatric evaluation of mental state of adolescent victims at different stages of judicially significant situation were developed.

[Effects of serotonin on antigen-nonspecific suppressors of the thymus]. / Vliianie serotonina na antigennespetsificheskie supressory timusa.

Study of nonspecific suppressors of the thymus in inhibition of immune response by serotonin is carried out in CBA mice. We have tested a selective effect of 2-deoxyguanosine on antigen nonspecific T suppressors of the thymus. In syngeneic adoptive transfer on the 3rd day after immunization it is established that antigen nonspecific immune response (rosette-forming cells) after serotonin treatment amounts to 71%, in intact animals--37%. When estimating the plague forming cells the antigen nonspecific suppressive thymocytes make up 21.9% in immune mice, 62.5% in immune mice after serotonin treatment, 29.7% in intact animals.

[Acute affective reactions in chronic psychogenia in adolescents]. / Ostrye affektivnye reaktsii v usloviiakh khronicheskoi psikhogenii u podrostkov.

The article deals with acute affective reactions developing in adolescents with chronic psychogenias. Three variants of this pathology (acute depressive, depressive-paranoid, and paranoid reactions) are defined. Clinical characteristics and the mechanisms of the formation of personality psychogenias are described. Criteria of the differential diagnosis of acute affective reactions are presented.

Liquid chromatography of palladium and non-ferrous metal chelates with 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol.

1-(2-Pyridylazo)-2-naphthol has been used for extraction concentration of palladium, copper, cobalt and nickel from aqueous solutions and subsequent separation of the chelates obtained, by means of high-pressure liquid chromatography. A technique for determining microamounts of palladium in aqueous solutions in the presence of 100-fold ratio of copper and 80-fold ratio of cobalt has been developed.

[Changes in the level of serotonin in the brain and immunocompetent organs during the formation of the immune response]. / Izmenenie urovnia serotonina v mozge i immunokompetentnykh organakh pri formirovanii immunnogo otveta.

The serotonin content increased in adrenals within 20 min after immunization of rats with sheep red blood cells, and diminished in ventral part of the anterior hypothalamus, hippocampus and in thymus. The number of antigen--responsive cells was increased twofold in bone marrow after the 1000-fold increase of the antigen dose. On the 4-5th days, the dependence of antibody-forming cells and rosette-forming cells number on the antigen dose was still observed in the spleen. The correlation between the serotonin level in the above brain structures and immunocompetent organs and the intensity of immune responses is discussed.

The transfer of 20 x 10(6) T and B cells of lymphoid organs from the donors immunized with sheep erythrocytes and having elevated serotonin level to the recipients immunized with SRBC decreased the intensity of immune response (rosette formation and direct plaque formation). The elevation of serotonin level in the donors induced the appearance of T and B suppressors in the thymus and the bone marrow respectively and increased the population of T and B suppressors in the spleen and, to a lesser extent, in lymph nodes.
