RESUMO

Neurotransmitter biogenic amines (BA) are known to be important tissue differentiation inducers and promoters of mutual influence of the epithelial and mesenchymal structures during the process of tooth development in the antenatal period. The aim of this investigation was the study of BA-containing dental pulp structures in the adult humans under normal conditions, and in patients with dental caries and its complications in combination with periodontitis. Using luminescent-histochemical methods, the contents of neurotransmitters (cateholamines, serotonin, histamine) was determined in the dental pulp under normal conditions and in pathology. Qualitative and quantitative changes of BA-containing dental pulp structures are described in patients with dental caries and its complications in combination with periodontitis. It was demonstrated that mast and granular luminescent cells, together with the nerve fibers, were involved in the neurotransmitter control of homeostasis in the dental pulp, both under normal conditions and in pathology, by providing the dental pulp structures with BA. The changes in the content of the neurotransmitter BA were noted already at the stage of initial dental hard tissue lesions and were found to precede the development of an acute pulpitis in combination with intermediate degree periodontitis.

RESUMO

Results of complex clinical and immunological study of patients with caries and pulpitis in combination with periodontitis were presented. It was revealed that high intensity of caries and parodontitis combines with significant disturbances in cellular and humoral parts of immune system.

RESUMO

This work presents the results of a immunohistochemical study, performed in order to identify the cells in human dental pulp which express neural markers. Population of cells expressing neuron-specific enolase, synaptophysin, and chromogranin A, which were stained by paraldehyde-fuchsin, was demonstrated in subodontoblastic layer of the dental pulp. Changes the number, morphological and functional characteristics during development of caries and pulpitis in combination with periodontitis are described.

RESUMO

Results of the comparative immunohistochemical study of dental pulp by means of monoclonal antibodies to CD3, CD20, capital ES, CD68 are described. Pulp from the patients with caries, acute and chronic pulpitis in combination with periodontitis on different stages was studied, the qualitative and quantitative feature of dental pulp immune cells--T- and B-lymphocytes and macrophages was determined.

RESUMO

Neuroendocrine cells were identified in human dental pulp by immunohistochemical method using monoclonal antibodies. A population of neuroendocrine cells positively reacting to neuron-specific enolase, synaptophysin, chromogranin A, and stained with paraldehyde-fuchsin, was detected in the subodontoblastic layer of the pulp. Changes in their count, morphology, and function in caries and pulpitis concomitant with periodontitis were proven.

RESUMO

Participation of biogenic amines, in cells of dental pulp, in processes of tooth development regulation was studied. The connection was found between contents and inactivation of biogenic amines in developing tooth, as well as in bioamine producing cells and nervous fibres, which had natural differences depending on periods of germ development.

RESUMO

The aim of this study was to examine the distribution and the role of biogenic amines during the differentiation and maturation of the cells of the developing tooth. The study was performed on 185 human embryos and fetuses. The material was subdivided into two groups. Group 1 included the embryos and fetuses at developmental weeks 8-18 (period of induction and differentiation of dental primordia), group 2 consisted of fetuses at developmental weeks 20-28 (period of dental hard tissues formation). Cryostat sections of the lower jaw were studied using the luminescent-histochemical methods: Falck's method for selective demonstration of catecholamines (CA) and serotonin (S), and Cross's method for identification of histamine (H). The concentrations of biogenic amines were assessed quantitatively using cytospectrofluorometry. Unna's polychromatic toluidine blue staining was also used. Serotonin index was calculated. It was found that during the period of dental hard tissues histogenesis the mast cells (MC) along with H, contain S and CA. Maximal S content in peridental MC coincided with the appearance of enameloblasts, while that one of H in peridental MC, granular luminescent cells, dental pulp MC, blood vessels and nerve fibers was concomitant with the beginning of enamel deposition. Maximal content of S in peridental MC and of H in dental pulp blood vessels coincided with the beginning of dentin deposition. The demonstrated connection between the biogenic amine content in enamel organ and in mesenchymal structures of developing tooth, as well as between biogenic amine-containing cells and nerve fibers may underlie the mechanisms of their mutual inductive influence during the process of odontogenesis.

RESUMO

Qualitative and quantitative characteristics of neuromediator distribution in developing dental tissues are presented. Mechanisms of involvement of bioactive substances present in granular fluorescent cells and mast cells of the dental pulp in the regulation of tooth development are discussed. Relationship between the content of bioactive substances in the enamel organ and mesenchymal structures of a developing tooth and in bio-amine containing cells and nerve fibers is revealed, which can underlie one of the important mechanisms of their mutual inductive effects during the ontogenesis.

RESUMO

Using luminescent-histochemical methods the contents of neurotransmitters (catecholamines, serotonin, histamine) was determined during the development of dental hard tissues in man. In the dental papilla the luminescent blood vessels were initially demonstrated, while single nerve fibers branching around the odontoblasts appeared later. It was found that enamel organ differentiation at the early stages took place without the participation of granular luminescent cells and mast cells. These cells appeared starting at week 22 of fetal development. Their appearance coincided with the process of enameloblast and odontoblast differentiation. The contents of neurotransmitters in the dental structures studied was found to increase with the fetal age.
