RESUMO

Thirty children with dysbinocular and anisometric amblyopia were treated making use of a method based on the use of a physiologically based functional bioregulation. It is known that in this condition EEG changes recorded in the occipital sectors of the brain are indicative of a weakened specific activation reaction. To improve vision acuity, the patients were trained to enhance activation reaction by EEG monitoring that was used to create an external feedback (EEG status-dependent brightness of the screen when watching an animated cartoon). The results show that functional bioregulation method may be used both alone and in complex with other methods, reducing the treatment duration and helping attain a desirable effect in cases previously treated without success.

RESUMO

EEG was analyzed in 64 stammering children attending the logopedic groups of general kindergartens. In 85% of the cases EEG was considered pathologic with baseline paroxysmal activity and epileptiform activity in functional testing. The comparison of these data with EEG recorded in age-matched healthy group (102 children) and in a group of 20 children with other central nervous system disorders leaving speech intact showed that a focus of polymorphic activity was recorded in the parietotemporal region in stammering children. This could be a major factor disordering the interhemispheric relations in the stammering etiopathogenesis.

RESUMO

The authors consider the results of a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the bioelectrical brain activity in 175 children aged 5 to 14 years with motor disturbances due to various causes who received a rehabilitative treatment in a specialized child sanatorium. In addition to the traditional methods the authors employed some functional bioregulation techniques. A clinico-physiological analysis was conducted with the help of original evaluation scales. The use of the proposed method for the assessment of clinical efficacy and the employment of mathematical processing of EEG showed a high efficiency of techniques of the purposeful correction of motor disorders and contributed to a better understanding of the mechanisms of readjustments occurring in the CNS in the process of the formation of new motor skills. It was found that alpha-rhythm played the main role in the development of new motor skills.

RESUMO

The authors describe a method of restorative therapy including functional bioregulation combined with the administration of galanthamine in children with spastic forms of infantile cerebral paralysis. A course of 15 biotraining sessions combined with galanthamine administration brings about a considerable improvement in both clinical and electrophysiological parameters. The initial values of the bioelectrical activity of the studied muscles have been found to be of a prognostic value with regard to the possible therapeutic effect.
