RESUMO

PURPOSE: to evaluate the prevalence of various urination disorders in residents of the Republic of Dagestan, and, thus, to improve their diagnosis and treatment. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 584 residents (264 men and 320 women) from different regions of the Republic of Dagestan took part in an anonymous questionnaire survey: 165 residents of Makhachkala, including 92 men and 73 women; 86 residents of Derbent and villages of Southern Dagestan, including 30 men and 56 women; 73 residents of Khasavyurt and Kizilyurt, including 34 men and 39 women; 53 residents of Buynaksk, including 19 men and 34 women; 42 residents of Izberbash, including 19 men and 23 women; 58 residents of the Kaspiysk, 29 men and 29 women; 42 residents of Kayakent, 4 men and 38 women; 65 residents of other regions of the Republic of Dagestan (Karabudakhkent, Gumbet, Gunibsk, Shamil, Khunzakh, Botlikh, Kazbek, Levashin, Tlyaratin, and Tsumadin regions), 37 men and 28 women. RESULTS: According to the survey of the residents of the Republic of Dagestan, a significant prevalence of various urinary disorders (63.5%) was found among both men (61.7%) and women (65.0%). Unfortunately, not all patients seek medical advice with complaints of dysuria (55.5%). The fact that 18.8% of patients do not know that they can get help, and 24.1% believe that they do not have a good doctor in their region can be considered as the most an unfavorable moment in terms of the reasons for the refusal of visiting a doctor.. CONCLUSIONS: All this findings suggest the need for educational programs both for physicians and the population (educative activities).

RESUMO

During prolonged sessions of pulsed heat (PH) carried out according to the earlier designed technique the authors also recorded on a continuous basis the polyelectrogram of sleep and parameters of the temperature topography of the body. The findings have shown a biphasic nature of the reaction, as well as correlation between the dynamics of the level of awakening and the parameters of the body. Impact of PH on the basic (nasolabial) and additional zones has been found to be fairly effective. The results of two series of studies have demonstrated that incorporation into the therapy of additional zones can augment both soporific effects of PH and its beneficial impact on the cerebral circulation. The data obtained, apart from being of practical significance, have a theoretical importance since they contribute to the better understanding of the physiological mechanisms of PH.

RESUMO

The results of treatment of 58 patients with various forms of neurosis by intermittent thermal exposure (thermal pulsation) in the respiratory rhythm to the nosolabial reflexogenic zone are analyzed using clinical and electrophysiological methods. Thermal pulsation was produced with the help of a specially designed apparatus (an electronic thermopulsator with a respiratory adaptor). The use of impulse thermal energy was shown to bring about positive changes on the part of clinical and paraclinical indices in the majority of patients. The most prominent effects were observed in the sphere of non-differential manifestations of neurosis: astheno-depressive disturbances, vegetative dysfunction and nocturnal sleep disorders.

RESUMO

The report concerns a description of a case of hereditary acroosteolysis with peculiar clinical and X-ray symptoms. It is being stressed that the neurological changes in different cases differ by their manifold signs and are sometimes the prevalent syndrome. The authors conducted a genetical analysis of 11 cases of hereditary acroosteolysis, which were seen in Dagestan. The paper contains some considerations of the differencies of hereditary acroosteolysis from other similar disorders.

RESUMO

In most of the normals who were studied with the aid of thermal pulsation there was an expressed shift of bioelectrical brain activity towards a synchronization. In patients with generalized epileptical fits and with mesodiencephalic lesions under the influence of thermal pulsation there was a distinct expression an increase of pathological activity. This effect obviously exceeded the results of a use of photostimulation and hyperventilation. In patients with focal lesions of the hemospheres the effectivity of of the method appeared to less.
