RESUMO

Now that tissue cores can be obtained using fine-needle biopsy (FNB) needles, the ways tissues are handled for endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) are changing. Direct smear, touch smear of core tissues, and centrifugation have been used for cytological examinations, and liquid-based cytology (LBC), which allows immunostaining and genetic tests that use residual samples, is emerging as an alternative. We emphasize that liquid cytology (Cytospin™ cytology and LBC) is still important, because it enables the diagnosis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) when cancerous cells are scarce in specimens. Cell blocks are being replaced by core tissues obtained via FNB needles. Recent reports indicate that rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) is not necessary when FNB needles are used, and macroscopic on-site evaluation is used to evaluate specimen adequacy. Macroscopic findings of specimens are helpful in the diagnostic workup and for clarifying specimen-handling methods. In addition to the red strings and white cores observed in PDAC, mixed red and white strings, gray tissues, and gelatinous tissues are observed. Gray (necrotic) tissues and gelatinous (mucus) tissues are more suitable than histology for cell block or cytological processing. Tumor cells in neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are numerous in red strings but cannot be observed macroscopically. ROSE might thus be necessary for lesions that may be NETs. Core tissues can be used for genetic tests, such as those used for KRAS mutations and comprehensive genomic profiling. Cytological materials, including slides and LBC specimens, can also be genetic test materials.

This is a report of the results of the epidemiological survey on dermatomycoses conducted in 2021. A total of 9,442 patients with dermatomycosis were reported for one year. They include 8,151 (86.3%) with dermatophytosis, 796 (8.4%) with candidiasis, 484 (5.1%) with Malassezia infection, and 11 (0.1%) with deep cutaneous mycosis. In order, the most common types of dermatophytoses were tinea pedis (4,195 cases, 2,341 males and 1,854 females), tinea unguium (2,711 cases, 1,509 males and 1,202 females), tinea corporis (674 cases, 445 males and 229 females), tinea cruris (399 cases, 305 males and 94 females), tinea manus (125 cases, 78 males and 47 females), and tinea capitis (47 cases, 25 males and 22 females). The number of cases of tinea pedis and tinea unguium increased during the summer. A higher percentage of patients were aged 80 or older than in previous surveys. These findings may reflect the increasing percentage of elderly patients seen and the superannuation of the population. As in previous surveys, Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton interdigitale were the two most frequently isolated species of fungi causing dermatophytoses. Microsporum canis and Trichophyton tonsurans were the two species most often causing tinea capitis.Regarding cutaneous candidiasis, while candidal intertrigo was the most common in previous surveys, diaper candidiasis in the elderly was the most common in this survey. A background check revealed that this was because a facility included a semi-prophylactic approach to address diaper candidiasis occurring within the ward.Malassezia infections by Malassezia folliculitis clearly increased with each survey. The tendency of certain facilities with many reports of Malassezia folliculitis suggests that it is greatly affected by the presence of physicians familiar with the disease.

OBJECTIVES: To pathologically clarify the macroscopic features of endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration/biopsy (EUS-FNA/B) specimens in representative pancreatic diseases and establish tissue-handling standards based on the macroscopic findings. METHODS: We gathered EUS-FNA/B specimens of cases at our institution with the final diagnoses of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC, n = 172), neuroendocrine tumor (NET, n = 19), and chronic inflammatory lesion (CIL, n = 24) including autoimmune pancreatitis. We classified the specimens' macroscopic features in five categories (red strings, mixed-red-and-white strings, white cores, gray tissues, gelatinous tissues) and compared the specimens' features on cytological and histological slides. RESULTS: All five macroscopic categories were observed in variable combinations in the PDACs; red strings and white cores predominated in the NETs and CILs. White cores represented neoplastic (PDAC, NET) or lesion (CIL) tissues. Mixed-red-and-white strings were unique to PDACs and contained cancerous cells. Neoplastic cells were numerous in red strings in NETs but not the other groups. Gray and gelatinous tissues represented necrosis and mucin, respectively, and the former were almost exclusively observed in PDACs. Red strings, mixed-red-and-white strings, and white cores were suitable for histological examination, whereas gray and gelatinous tissues were suitable for cytological examination. The white cores, mixed-red-and-white strings, and gelatinous tissues may be composed of non-neoplastic tissues such as contaminated gastrointestinal epithelium. In seven PDACs, although white cores were obtained, a histological diagnosis was not established. CONCLUSIONS: Macroscopic evaluations of EUS-FNA/B can enable the identification of specimen components and a possible diagnosis. They also contribute to the selection of the optimal tissue-handling methods.

Background: Emotion regulation (ER) refers to the process of modulating an affective experience or response. Objectives: This is a systematic review of the research on therapist methods to facilitate patient ER, including affect-focused, experiential methods that aim to enhance immediate patient emotion regulation, and structured psychoeducation, skills training in ER. Method: A total of 10 studies of immediate and intermediate outcomes of emotion regulation methods were examined. A total of 38 studies were included in the meta-analysis of distal treatment effects on emotion regulation. Results: In eight studies with 84 clients and 33 therapists, we found evidence of positive intermediate outcomes for affect-focused therapist methods and interpretations. A meta-analysis of 26 studies showed that the average effect size of ER methods from pre- to post-treatment was large (g = 0.82). Conclusions: Both affect-focused and structured skill training are associated with distal improvements in emotion regulation. When working with ER in psychotherapy, therapists must consider how patients' cultural backgrounds inform display rules, as well as what might be considered adaptive or maladaptive. The article concludes with training implications and therapeutic practices based on the research evidence.

Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy (AEDP; Fosha, 2000, 2021b) is an integrative, healing-oriented, mind-body, affect-focused therapy. A posttreatment outcome study demonstrated AEDP's effectiveness (Iwakabe et al., 2020) on a variety of measures of psychological functioning. This study sought to address AEDP's long-term effectiveness. As previously reported, 63 adult patients completed a 16-session AEDP treatment with qualified therapists in private practice in the United States, Canada, Israel, Japan, and Sweden. Forty patients responded to 6-month follow-up and 52 responded to 12-month follow-up. Results indicate that patients maintained their posttreatment therapeutic gains, both 6 and 12 months later. Large effect sizes (d = 0.74 to d = 1.60) both for reductions on measures of psychopathology (e.g., depression, negative automatic thoughts, experiential avoidance) and improvements on measures of positive mental health (e.g., well-being, self-compassion) were obtained. Patients with more pervasive and severe problems tended to have larger effect sizes (all ds > 1.0) and a larger proportion of them achieved clinically significant change over 6 and 12 months than patients with subclinical symptomatology. Piecewise growth modeling was used to confirm these results, with attrition over the follow-up period taken into account. Consistent with the above findings, piecewise growth modeling similarly showed that patients significantly improved from pre- to posttreatment and maintained gains from posttreatment through the 6- and 12-month follow-up. These results provide empirical support for the long-term effectiveness of AEDP for alleviating a variety of psychological problems and enhancing positive functioning. PURPOSE: To report second-look arthroscopic assessment after all-arthroscopic autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI) for articular cartilage defects at the patella. METHODS: A second-look arthroscopy after all-arthroscopic ACI using chondrospheres® (ACT3D) was performed in 30 patients with 30 full-thickness retropatellar cartilage defects. The mean time from ACI to second-look arthroscopy was 14.9 ± 16.3 (6-71) months. The quality of cartilage regeneration was evaluated by the International Cartilage-Repair Score (ICRS)-Cartilage Repair Assessment (CRA). RESULTS: Eleven lesions (36.7%) were classified as CRA grade I (normal) and 19 lesions (63.3%) as grade II (nearly normal). Concerning the degree of defect repair, 25 lesions (83.3%) were repaired up to the height of the surrounding articular retropatellar cartilage. Five lesions (16.7%) showed 75% repair of defect depth. The border zone was completely integrated into the surrounding articular cartilage shoulder in 28 lesions (93.3%) and demarcated within 1 mm in 2 lesions (6.7%). Macroscopically and by probing, 12 lesions (40%) had intact smooth surface, 17 lesions (56.7%) had fibrillated surface and 1 lesion (3.3%) had small, scattered fissures. A negative correlation was found between the overall repair assessment score and the defect size (r2 = - 0.430, p = 0.046) and between integration into border zone and defect size (r2 = - 0.340, p = 0.045). A positive correlation was found between macroscopic appearance and age (r2 = + 0.384, p = 0.036). CONCLUSIONS: All-arthroscopic ACI using chondrospheres® (ACT3D) for full-thickness retropatellar articular cartilage defects proved to be reproducible and reliable. The advantage of the procedure is that it is minimal invasive. Arthroscopic second-look demonstrated a high grade of normal or nearly normal cartilage regeneration. Although statistically significant differences were not observed, larger defect size and younger age may compromise the result of overall repair. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: III.

This systematic case study investigated the nature of corrective emotional experiences (CEEs) that occurred over the course of psychotherapy in a single case and how those in-session CEEs were related to changes in the client's life. Client's e-mails on her experience of therapy sessions and postsession changes sent to the therapist, as well as outcome and postsession measures, were analyzed. The client was a Japanese woman who sought help for a variety of psychological symptoms including depression, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation. A long-term therapy of 67 sessions was conducted by a Japanese male psychotherapist who followed an integrative affect-focused approach. The quantitative analysis showed that the client achieved clinically significant change in depression, anxiety, self-compassion, interpersonal functioning, and self-esteem over the course of therapy. A grounded-theory analysis of client e-mails to the therapist showed that she experienced a deep connection with the therapist, gained a sense of relief through experiencing her disavowed feelings, and developed a positive sense of self in the course of her sessions. The client felt she had gained strength, had deepened her understanding of her feelings and behaviors, and that she was beginning to develop new relationships with others. The understanding of the theory of CEEs through this case, cultural issues, and the limitations and future directions of this study are discussed. A 56-year-old man was referred to our hospital with an awareness of anal tumor. The tumor extended from the anal verge to the back of left testicle. Colonoscopy showed no tumor in the rectum and the anal canal. Biopsy showed mucus- producing adenocarcinoma(sig), and we diagnosed anal canal adenocarcinoma with immunostaining. Laparoscopic abdominoperineal rectal resection and perineal reconstruction with the V-Y fasciocutaneous flap closure technique. The patient had no major postoperative complications, and was discharged on 23rd postoperative day. Pathological examination revealed that the tumor was pT3N0M0, pStage ⅡB. The patient received adjuvant chemotherapy with CAPOX and has survived 12 months without recurrence. Immunostaining may be used to diagnose the signet-ring cell carcinoma without tumor of anal canal. In addition, reconstruction of the perineum for large anal tumors is useful.

Coherence imaging spectroscopy (CIS) measures the two-dimensional profiles of both ion temperature and ion velocity in plasmas. The interferometric technique is realized by a certain relation between the phase and the wavelength of light emerging from a birefringent crystal. The calibration for the CIS system requires monochromatic and tunable light sources near the He II line (468.6 nm) or C III line (465 nm) where the CIS measures. In this research, the CIS system has been upgraded by implementing an electron multiplier CCD and a CIS cell. A monochromator validates the linearity of the phase relation on the wavelength near the He II line. As an in situ calibration at the Ring Trap 1 plasma device, two spectral lines of Ti and Zn lamps obtain the accurate dispersion function of phase. It is found that a simple method with two spectral lines is reliable and sufficient for the calibration.

BACKGROUND: Biological processes after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) is crucial for recovery. However, alterations in the of synovial fluid cell population during the acute phase following ACLR and the relationship between these cells and postoperative pain is unclear. The goal of this study was to reveal alterations in synovial fluid cell population during the acute phase following ACLR and relationship between postoperative pain and proportion of synovial fluid cells. METHODS: Synovial fluids were obtained from all patients (n = 50) before surgery and from patients who showed hydrarthrosis at days 4 (n = 25), and 21 (n = 42) post-surgery. The cell population was analyzed by flow cytometry. IL1ß, IL8, and met-enkephalin in synovial fluid were quantitated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Patients answered numerical rating scale (NRS) questionnaire at 4 days and approximately 4 weeks postoperatively. RESULTS: The granulocyte population was significantly higher at 4 days after surgery than at any other time points. The population of macrophages was 3.2 times and 7.7 times as high as at surgery on days 4 and 21, respectively. T cell population was significantly higher 21 days after surgery compared to 4 days after surgery. All NRS 4 weeks after surgery showed a significant negative correlation with the granulocyte population in synovial fluid 4 days after surgery. Granulocyte population in synovial fluid significantly correlated with the levels of IL1ß and IL8. Postoperative pain at rest tended to decrease with an increase in met-enkephalin concentration 4 days after ACLR. CONCLUSIONS: Synovial fluid after ACLR had an inflammatory environment at early time points and a healing environment in the subsequent phase about concerning to the cellular composition. A proportion of synovial fluid cells and endogenous opioids affected postoperative pain.

In this study, to get a better understanding in characterizing groundwater and ensure its effective management, the radon concentrations in water samples were measured through Ryukyu limestone in southern Okinawa Island, Japan. Water samples were collected from a limestone cave (Gyokusendo cave, dropping water) and two springs (Ukinju and Komesu, spring water), and the radon concentrations were measured by liquid scintillation counters. The radon concentrations in the samples from the Gyokusendo cave, and Ukinju and Komesu springs were 10 ± 1.3 Bq L-1, 3.2 ± 1.0 Bq L-1, and 3.1 ± 1.1 Bq L-1, respectively. The radon concentrations showed a gradually increasing trend from summer to autumn and decreased during winter. The variation of radon concentrations in the dripping water sample from the Gyokusendo cave showed a lagged response to precipitation changes by approximately 2-3 months. The estimated radon concentrations in the dripping water sample were calculated with the measured radon concentrations from the dripping water obtained during the study period. Based on our results, groundwater in the Gyokusendo cave system was estimated to percolate through the Ryukyu limestone in 7-10 days, and the residence time of groundwater in the soil above Gyokusendo cave was estimated to be approximately 50-80 days. This work makes a valuable contribution to the understanding of groundwater processes in limestone aquifers, which is essential for ensuring groundwater sustainability.

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to determine the factors that affect the extracellular fluid (ECF) content in the legs of patients with chronic venous disease (CVD). METHODS: Bioimpedance analysis and air plethysmography (APG) were performed in 79 patients with CVD who visited our clinic between September 2016 and March 2019. The normal right legs (N) of 14 healthy volunteers were also reviewed for comparison. The ratio of ECF resistance (Re) of the leg to that of the arm (ReL/ReA) was used to express the ECF content in the tested leg. The severity of CVD was expressed using the clinical, etiological, anatomical, and pathophysiological (CEAP) classification. RESULTS: The ReL/ReA decreased as the CEAP class increased (N: median; 0.81 [range 0.66-0.95], C0-1: 0.79 [0.60-0.98], C2: 0.77 [0.56-1.08], C3: 0.67 [0.57-0.85], C4: 0.64 [0.44-0.89]). Older age, female sex, and CEAP class affected the ReL/ReA, but body mass index did not. The ReL/ReA did not correlate with the parameters that were derived from APG, including the venous filling index. CONCLUSIONS: We found that the ECF content in legs of patients with CVD might be primarily affected by patient-related factors and CEAP class, as opposed to venous hemodynamics.

Peroxisome is an intracellular organelle that functions in essential metabolic pathways including ß-oxidation of very-long-chain fatty acids and biosynthesis of plasmalogens. Peroxisome biogenesis disorders (PBDs) manifest severe dysfunction in multiple organs including central nervous system (CNS), whilst the pathogenic mechanisms are largely unknown. We recently reported that peroxisome-deficient neural cells secrete an increased level of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), resulting in the cerebellar malformation. Peroxisomal functions in adulthood brain have been little investigated. To induce the peroxisome deficiency in adulthood brain, we here established tamoxifen-inducible conditional Pex2-knockout mouse. Peroxisome deficiency in the conditional Pex2-knockout adult mouse brain induces the upregulated expression of BDNF and its inactive receptor TrkB-T1 in hippocampus, which notably results in memory disturbance. Our results suggest that peroxisome deficiency gives rise to the dysfunction of hippocampal circuit via the impaired BDNF signaling.

Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy (AEDP) is an integrative model of psychotherapy that brings together relational and experiential work, with the aim of not only alleviating suffering but also bringing about flourishing. The present study took place within a developing AEDP practice research network and examined outcomes for 62 self-referred adults treated using a 16-session format of AEDP treatment. Participants completed self-report measures before and following treatment. Measures assessed a variety of psychological problems, subjective distress, as well as aspects of positive psychological functioning. Treatment occurred in naturalistic independent practice outpatient settings in the United States, Canada, Israel, Japan, and Sweden. Large effect sizes (d > 0.80) were obtained for clinical problems and subjective distress. The majority of patients evidenced clinically reliable change according to Jacobson, Roberts, Berns, and McGlinchey's (1999) criteria. Effectiveness was further examined by dividing the sample into a clinical group with pervasive and severe problems and a subclinical group with fewer problems and mild severity. Within the clinical group, total and global scores on all measures improved significantly following treatment. Effect sizes were d > 1.00 for all scales. The subclinical group also demonstrated significant improvements, with effect sizes ranging from d = 0.46 to d = 2.07. These results provide initial empirical support for the effectiveness of AEDP as a model of therapy that can effect meaningful and significant improvements across a range of psychological symptoms. PURPOSE: To compare the position and direction of femoral and tibial tunnels for both the anteromedial bundle (AMB) and posterolateral bundle (PLB) among three different femoral tunnel drilling techniques, transtibial (TT), transportal (TP), and outside-in (OI) techniques, in anatomic double-bundle ACL reconstruction to clarify advantages and disadvantages of each technique. METHODS: One-hundred and thirty-nine patients underwent primary ACL reconstruction with an autologous semitendinosus tendon in our institution between 2014 and 2016. Thirteen patients were excluded according to the exclusion criteria. Of the 126 patients, 98 patients agreed to be included in this study. Patients were then randomized into three groups according to the femoral tunnel drilling technique; the TT, TP, and OI groups. Femoral and tibial tunnel angles and positions were measured using three-dimensional computed tomography. RESULTS: Of patients who agreed to be included in this study, eight patients (seven in TT and one in OI) were excluded since the femoral tunnel could not be created at the intended position. Eighty-six patients (29 in TT, 29 in TP, and 28 in OI) were included for the analyses. Tunnel angles, as well as tunnel lengths, had significant differences among different techniques depending on each technique's characteristics. In terms of tunnel position, femoral tunnel positions of both the AMB and PLB in the TT group were significantly higher than those in the TP group (AMB: p = 0.003, PLB: p = 0.001), and the PLB tunnel position in the TP group had significantly smaller vaciance than that in the TT group (p = 0.004) and OI group (0.002). CONCLUSIONS: The femoral tunnel positions created by the TT technique were significantly higher, with larger variance, than the TP technique in double-bundle ACL reconstruction, although the positions seemed to be within anatomical footprint. In addition, there were several cases in which femoral tunnels could not be created at the intended position by the TT technique. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: I.

BACKGROUND: Exact knowledge of risk factors for residual anterolateral rotatinoal instability (ALRI) after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is limited. The purpose of this study was to analyse possible risk factors for ALRI after ACL reconstruction. METHODS: Quantitative assessment of the pivot shift phenomenon by measuring tibial acceleration was performed in 46 patients during primary double-bundle ACL reconstructions. The absolute value of the acceleration of the injured knee after provisional fixation of the ACL grafts ('absolute residual acceleration') and the subtraction of the acceleration of the uninjured knee from absolute residual acceleration ('relative residual acceleration') were defined as indicators for residual ALRI. The associations between these indicators and nine candidate risk factors were analysed using univariate and multiple regression analyses. RESULTS: Multiple regression analysis revealed that absolute residual acceleration was positively associated with both preoperative acceleration difference between injured and uninjured knees (ß = 0.469, P < 0.001) and tibial acceleration of the uninjured knee (ß = 0.597, P < 0.001). Relative residual acceleration was also positively associated with preoperative acceleration difference between injured and uninjured knees (ß = 0.446, P< 0.001), but was negatively associated with tibial acceleration of the uninjured knee (ß = -0.763, P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Patients with larger preoperative side-to-side difference of the pivot shift phenomenon have higher risk for both absolute and relative residual ALRIs after ACL reconstruction, whereas patients with larger pivot shift phenomenon in their uninjured knees are at higher risk for absolute residual ALRI but not for relative residual ALRI.

Synovial mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) appear to be an attractive cell source in cartilage and meniscus regeneration because of their high proliferative and chondrogenic potentials. Two methods are used to culture synovial nucleated cells in the preparation of primary synovial MSCs. In one method, the cells are plated at low density to make cell colonies. In the other method, the cells are plated at high density. We investigated the effects of initial cell density on proliferation, surface markers, and multipotentiality, including chondrogenesis in primary synovial MSCs. Human synovium was obtained from the knee joints of patients with osteoarthritis after total knee arthroplasty. Immediately after enzyme digestion, the synovial nucleated cells were plated in densities of 103 , 104 , or 105 cells/60-cm2 dish and cultured for 14 days. Proliferation, surface markers, chondrogenesis, adipogenesis, and calcification were examined in three populations. The cell colonies were distinct in the 103 cells/dish group, faint in the 104 cells/dish group, and obscure in the 105 cells/dish group. The total number of cells/dish was positively related to plating density, whereas the fold increase was negatively related to plating density (n = 13). Among 12 surface markers, a negative relation to plating density was distinct in CD105. The cartilage pellet weight was negatively related to the initial plating density. The oil red-o positive area and alizarin red positive area were positively related to the initial plating density. The initial cell plating density affected the properties of primary synovial MSCs. Synovial nucleated cells proliferated better when plated at low density, and the synovial MSCs obtained by this method contained a high chondrogenic potential. © 2018 The Authors. BACKGROUND: Some types of meniscus tear, especially lateral meniscus tear, have been reported to be associated with rotatory knee laxity. However, precise information regarding the effect of meniscus repair on rotatory laxity is limited. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of lateral and medial meniscus repair on rotatory laxity in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injured knees. METHODS: Forty-one patients who underwent ACL reconstruction were included in the study. The tibial acceleration during the pivot shift test was measured using a triaxial accelerometer preoperatively under anesthesia and intraoperatively before and after medial and lateral meniscus repair and ACL reconstruction during surgery. Effects of meniscus tear and its repair on rotatory laxity were analyzed. RESULTS: Preoperative measurements revealed that patients with lateral meniscus tear showed significantly higher tibial acceleration compared to the patients without meniscus tear (P = 0.006). Intraoperative measurements revealed that medial and lateral meniscus repair significantly reduced tibial acceleration by 1.46 m/s2 (P = 0.002) and 1.91 m/s2 (P < 0.001), respectively. CONCLUSION: In ACL injured knees, knees with lateral meniscus tear showed greater rotatory laxity compared to the knees without meniscus tear. In addition, lateral meniscus repair, and to a lesser degree medial meniscus repair, reduced rotatory laxity during ACL reconstruction surgery. Therefore, the meniscus should be repaired as much as possible for its role as a secondary stabilizer of rotatory laxity. Besides, the effect of meniscus repair on rotatory laxity should be considered when the indication of anterolateral augmentation is determined.

Although microorganisms will preferentially allocate resources to synthesis of nitrogen (N)-acquiring enzymes when soil N availability is low according to the resource allocation model for extracellular enzyme synthesis, a robust link between microbial N-acquiring enzyme activity and soil N concentration has not been reported. To verify this link, we measured several indices of soil N availability and enzyme activity of four N-acquiring enzymes [N-acetyl-ß-glucosaminidase (NAG), protease (PR), urease (UR), and L-asparaginase (LA)] and a carbon (C)-acquiring enzyme [ß-D-glucosidase (BG)] in arable and forest soils. Although the ratios of NAG/BG and PR/BG were not significantly related with indices of soil N availability, ratios of LA/BG and UR/BG were strongly and negatively related with potentially mineralizable N estimated by aerobic incubation but not with pools of labile inorganic N and organic N. These results suggest that microorganisms might allocate their resources to LA and UR synthesis in response to N supply rate rather than the size of the easily available N pools. It was also suggested that the underlying mechanism for synthesis was different between these N-acquiring enzymes in soil microorganisms: microbial LA and UR were primarily synthesized to acquire N, whereas NAG and PR syntheses were regulated not only by N availability but also by other factors.
