RESUMO

The article presents data concerning assessment of content of such components of carbohydrate metabolism as lactate and pyruvate and their ration in patients with diabetes mellitus type I, representatives of Mongoloids and Caucasians. The decreased concentration of the given metabolites in mongoloids is established. The intensive cumulation of lactate and ration lactate/pyruvate in Caucasians can promote development of hypoxemic occurrences and as a result decrease course and prognosis of disease. The given differences require differentiated approach to tactics of treatment of the mentioned category of patients.

RESUMO

UNLABELLED: Among the metabolic processes involved in the formation of physical and sexual development of adolescents recently the system of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant protection (LPO-AOP) supporting the redox state of organism and its adaptive response under the influence of different factors is highlighted. BACKGROUND: The aim of this work is an analysis LPO-AOP-parameters in adolescent girls of different groups of health depending on where they live. PATIENTS AND METHODS: We examined 143 girls aged 15-17 years who had the second and the third groups of health and lived in the village and the city. For assessment of LPO-AOP parameters spectrophotometric, spectrofluorometric and statistical methods were used. RESULTS: The combination of high concentration of unsaturated lipids with primary accumulation of lipid peroxidation products and the stable level of the end products of lipid peroxidation were found in girls rural both groups of health. State of the antioxidant defense system in girls of the village was characterized by a high content of its components, except for alpha-tocopherol. It concentration was reduced in girls of the third group of health. The levels of lipid peroxidation secondary intermediats were elevated and oxidized glutathione level was reduced in city girls of the third groups of health. CONCLUSION: The usage of oxidized glutathione for the prevention of exacerbations of chronic diseases in city girls of the third group of health is recommended.

RESUMO

The parameters of lipid peroxidation (blood plasma content of primary products of lipid peroxidation and the end of TBA-active products) and indexes of antioxidant protection (total antioxidant activity, the content of fat-soluble vitamins A and E in blood plasma and riboflavin in blood) has been evaluated in 75 healthy children living in Irkutsk. All respondents were divided into three age periods: preschool age (3-6 years old, mean 4.7 +/- 1.0 - 21 children), primary school age (7-8 years, 7.6 +/- 0.4, - 28 children) and middle-school age (9-11 years, 9.9 +/- 0.7, 26 children). We used spectrophotometric and fluorometric methods. Identified the distinctive features of the metabolic reactions in children at different ages. The increase of the content of the primary products of lipid peroxidation in the early school years and of the end of TBA-active products for children of secondary school age in comparison with the preschool children has been determined. At the same time an increase in the level of total antioxidant activity and fat-soluble vitamins and riboflavin content in young and middle-school aged children in comparison with the pre-school children has been observed. The measurement of vitamins status demonstrated the insufficiency of alpha-tocopherol in half of pre-school children, in 36% of primary school children and 38% of children of secondary school age. Retinol and riboflavin deficiency has been detected in a small proportion of children of all ages. In this regard, the additional supply with vitamins of children in pre-school and middle-school period is essential.

RESUMO

The sample of 69 male adolescents aged of 14-17 years (46 of them with essential arterial hypertension) is examined. The control group included 23 adolescents. The intensity of oxidizing stress assessed according to the oxidizing stress coefficient. The calculation of coeffcient was based on testing in blood serum the content of products of peroxidation of lipids (substrates with double bonds, diene conjugate, malonic dialdehyde). The indices of antioxidant system (content of alpha-tocopherol, retinol, reduced glutathione and activity of superoxid dismutase) were used too. It is established that the oxidizing stress coefficient characterizes the degree of intensity of oxidizing process.

RESUMO

Lipid metabolic parameters were studied in 45 adolescents aged 14-17 years with labile or persistent hypertension. The concentration of atherogenic lipid fractions, such as very low-density lipoproteins and triglycerides was found to be significantly higher in the study group than that in the control groups. In the hypertension groups, the atherogeneity index was statistically more significant that in the controls. At the early stage of the pathological process, increased atherogenic fractions are a risk factor of hypertension in adolescents.
