A Novel Platform to Define Chemotherapy Templates and Their Prescriptions.

Medication errors have been identified as a major type of medical errors. Chemotherapy medication errors that occur in the prescription phase appear to be related to more significant adverse outcomes. The use of pre-printed templates increases patient safety. The functionalities required for the prescription of chemotherapy are not usually part of Clinical Physician Order Entry. The implementation of electronic chemotherapy templates will reduce the prescription errors.

Procedure for Reconstruction of a Predictive Score of Severe Deterioration in Inpatients.

Adequate recording of patients' physiological parameters provides vital information for health teams. Up to 80% of general admission patients have physiological parameters outside the normal range within 24 hours prior to transfer to the intensive care unit. Early warning systems analyze these data with the aim of detecting early deterioration in patients, which support medical decision making for reducing morbimortality. There are more than 100 systems for detecting patients at risk. Particularly NEWS has a greater ability to discriminate patients at risk of cardiac arrest, unplanned admission to ICU, and death. Sanatorio Finochietto has a commercial Health Information System. In order to exploit the available information, an algorithm capable of constituting a score value associated with NEWS has been developed from the combination of measurements made at different times. The reconstruction procedure allowed a greater number of full records. We had a 75% coincidence with real-time comparison.

A Patient Centric Nursing Mobile App Redesign.

In Argentina, consumption of psychoactive substances is quantified through the National Survey on Prevalence of Psychoactive Substance of the National Institute of Statistics and Census. This paper presents the use of Information Mining Engineering as an alternative approach to identifying novel patterns.

Creation and evaluation of a terminology server for the interactive coding of discharge summaries.

Free text entry versus structured data has been proposed as models in data entry in health information systems. A new user interface was developed with the objective of improving data capture. It also implemented a modification of the discharge summary data entry user interface that allowed the selection of already coded terms from a local terminology in the context of an inpatient electronic medical record. This software interacts online with a terminology server to provide feedback on data entry to clinical users in order to automatically code data. To evaluate the impact of this new software, we measured user satisfaction and the impact on autocodification rate. The new system had good acceptance from the users who ranked it high using QUIS (Questionnaire for User Interaction Satisfaction) and the auto codification rate improved from 61.5% to 88.39%.

Volatile components of some Rutaceae species.

The volatile components of the aerial parts of Ruta graveolens and Haplophyllum suaveolens, as well as of leaves of Zanthoxylum limoncello, Z. panamense and Z. setulosum have been studied by GC/MS analysis.

Complement inhibiting properties of dragon's blood from Croton draco.

The latex of Croton draco, its extracts and several latex components have been investigated for their influence on both classical (CP) and alternative (AP) activation pathways of the complement system using a hemolytic assay. The best inhibition was found for the classical pathway. The latex, ethyl acetate and ethyl ether extracts exhibited extremely high inhibition on the CP (94, 90 and 77%, respectively) at a concentration of 1 mg/ml. The flavonoid myricitrin, the alkaloid taspine and the cyclopeptides P1 and P2 showed high inhibition on CP (83, 91, 78 and 63%, respectively) at a concentration of 0.9 mM.
