RESUMO

Using rat model of experimental sarcoma M-1 we studied the efficacy of photodynamic therapy with boronated chlorine as a photosensitizer in doses of 1.25, 2.5, 5.0, and 10.0 mg/ kg body weight. Laser irradiation was performed at energy densities of 150, 300 J/cm(2) and power density of 0.25 and 0.42 W/cm(2). Treatment efficacy was evaluated by the percentage of animals with complete tumor regression, percentage of tumor recurrence and, in cases of its growth, by tumor growth coefficient. The efficacy of photodynamic therapy depended on the dose of boronated chlorine and parameters of the laser irradiation. Optimal conditions were the dose of 2.5 mg/kg at laser energy density of 300 J/cm(2) and power density of 0.42 W/cm(2) and a dose of 5.0 mg/kg at 150 J/cm(2) and 0.25 W/cm(2).

RESUMO

We carried out the first investigation to establish rat tumor M-1 by laser irradiation of the large blood vessel zone in the inguinal triangle in conjunction with photosensitinogen growth inhibition. Relatively small-size metastases to the lymph nodes and liver (stage III-IV) were identified after the blood was exposed to laser radiation in combination with intravenous injection of photosensitinogen under clinical conditions.

RESUMO

A method for photodynamic therapy was developed in experiments on the model of melanoma B16. The photosensitizer is injected by two doses, while laser exposure is carried out during coincidence of its maximum accumulation phases in tumor vessels and cells. This method increased the percentage of animals with complete regression of the tumor, decreased the coefficient of absolute tumor increase in animals with progressive tumor growth, increased survival of mice, and significantly decreased melanoma metastasizing to the lungs in comparison with untreated animals and even with the standard photodynamic therapy.

RESUMO

The role of different laser energy densities used in photodynamic therapy in the reparation of radiation ulcers caused by X-ray exposure in a dose of 80 Gy was studied. Tissue reparation manifested differently at different laser energy densities. After photodynamic therapy at energy density of 0.1 J/cm2 the rate of healing was notably higher during early periods. After exposure at 5 and 40 J/cm2 acceleration of ulcer healing was observed 14 and more days after the treatment, indicating the emergence of another mechanism of photodynamic therapy effect. Laser energy density of 5 J/cm2 was the most effective for maximally complete healing of radiation ulcers.

RESUMO

After rats with sarcoma M-1 inoculated in the femur area were exposed to low-energy (0.54 mT1) infra-red laser irradiation, 100Hz, for 10 min, the number of contrast-enhanced vessels of tumor fell sharply as compared with controls. That effect lasted for almost 24 hrs. At 1kHz, the total-sum of diameters of such vessels still increased 24 hrs after the exposure. When at 10kHz, that index decreased, and by day 3 vascular pattern and diameter came back to normal in all experiments.

RESUMO

Analysis of the problems involving the design and application of Soviet-made radiocontrast agents showed that the synthesis of such drugs as Iodamid, Triombrast, Etiotrast, Bilimin, and Bilignost in this country made it possible to eliminate the arrears in this field. Together with the elaboration of topics concerning the pharmacokinetics and adverse effects of the above contrast agents, this helped to create a sound scientific base for further work on the unsolved problems, primarily, (1) to synthesize Soviet non-ionogenic radiocontrast agents; (2) to prepare and introduce Soviet ultrasonographic contrast agents into practice; (3) to prepare and introduce magnetic resonance contrast ones into practice; and (4) to introduce unique radiocontrast agents such as triombrast as oil emulsion, oleoferrotrast, fine-dispersion barium sulphate, and chromoetiotrast into clinical practice and to set up their production.

RESUMO

The initial and end parts of the ventricular complex of the ECG and the roentgenopneumopolygraphy data were assayed in 22 patients with rheumatoid arthritis before and after inhalation of the gaseous hypoxic mixture (GGS-10) consisting of 90% of nitrogen and 10% of oxygen. After the inhalation of the mixture the area of the ST-T segment significantly increased as compared with the initial data, mainly in the AVR, V2 and V5 leads of the ECG. In addition, individual features of the changes in respiratory pulmonary function were discovered, which directly correlated with the disease stage.

RESUMO

Triombrast (60%) iodamide-380, free verografin and verografin incorporated in liposomes in commonly used amounts produce no significant cytogenetic effect on peripheral blood lymphocytes. An increase in the concentration of these drugs results in a decrease in the lymphocytic mitotic index and structural chromosomal disorders which are marked at the most in a 10- and 20-fold increase in a clinical dose.
