RESUMO

The sensitized photoexcitation of 2-diazocyclopentane-1,3-diones in the presence of THF leads to the insertion of the terminal N-atom of the diazo group into the α-С-Н bond of THF, producing the associated N-alkylhydrazones in yields of up to 63-71%. Further irradiation of hydrazones derived from furan-fused tricyclic diazocyclopentanediones culminates in the cycloelimination of furans to yield 2-N-(alkyl)hydrazone of cyclopentene-1,2,3-trione. By contrast, the direct photolysis of carbocyclic diazodiketones gives only Wolff rearrangement products with up to 90-97% yield.

RESUMO

A new approach towards the synthesis of multisubstituted thiophenes is elaborated based on Rh(II)-catalyzed domino reactions of acyclic diazoesters with α-cyanothioacetamides. It provides a way for the preparation of 5-amino-3-(alkoxycarbonylamino)thiophene-2-carboxylates, 2-(5-amino-2-methoxycarbonylthiophene-3-yl)aminomalonates and (2-cyano-5-aminothiophene-3-yl)carbamates with the preparative yields of up to 67%. It was also shown that α-cyanothioacetamides easily interact with dirhodium carboxylates to give rather stable 2:1 complexes, resulting in an evident decrease in the efficiency of the catalytic process at moderate temperatures (20-30 °C).

RESUMO

The energies and lifetimes of the excited states (S1, S2, S5, T1) of a diazotetrahydrofuranone were determined using experimental and computational methods. It was shown that direction of the diazoketone photochemical transformations without elimination of nitrogen is determined by multiplicity and energy of the excited state, generated by UV irradiation of diazo compound: isomerization to α-ketodiazirine proceeds from the singlet S1 state, whereas the alternative process of C-H insertion with hydrazone formation occurs through the triplet T1 state. The most probable excited state that leads to elimination of nitrogen and Wolff rearrangement is one of the highest singlet excited states of diazotetrahydrofuranone.

RESUMO

Rh(II)-сatalyzed reactions of aroyldiazomethanes, diazoketoesters and diazodiketones with α,ß-unsaturated δ-aminoesters, in contrast to reactions of diazomalonates and other diazoesters, give rise to the Wolff rearrangement and/or oxidative cleavage of the initially formed N-H-insertion products. These oxidation processes are mediated by Rh(II) catalysts possessing perfluorinated ligands. The formation of pyrrolidine structures, characteristic for catalytic reactions of diazoesters, was not observed in these processes at all.

RESUMO

Phosphazenes of vinyldiazocarbonyl compounds having cis stereochemistry of the functional groups on the vinyl bond readily produce pyridazines by a diaza-Wittig process, whereas their counterparts with trans configuration remain intact under similar reaction conditions. Upon UV irradiation trans-phosphazenes furnish pyridazines through a tandem trans-to-cis isomerization followed by intramolecular cyclization. At elevated temperatures trans-(triphenyl)phosphazenes dissociate to give the initial vinyldiazo compounds, which produce pyrazoles in high yields. The first theoretical study on the mechanism of the diaza-Wittig process by DFT calculations at the M06-2X/6-31G(d) level of theory suggest that for the cis-phosphazenes a rapid tandem [2+2] cycloaddition/cycloelimination process with low energy barriers is preferred over trans isomers.

RESUMO

The 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of acyclic 2-diazo-1,3-dicarbonyl compounds (DDC) and thioketones preferably occurs with Z,E-conformers and leads to the formation of transient thiocarbonyl ylides in two stages. The thermodynamically favorable further transformation of C=S ylides bearing at least one acyl group is identified as the 1,5-electrocyclization into 1,3-oxathioles. However, in the case of diazomalonates, the dominating process is 1,3-cyclization into thiiranes followed by their spontaneous desulfurization yielding the corresponding alkenes. Finally, carbocyclic diazodiketones are much less reactive under similar conditions due to the locked cyclic structure and are unfavorable for the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition due to the Z,Z-conformation of the diazo molecule. This structure results in high, positive values of the Gibbs free energy change for the first stage of the cycloaddition process.

RESUMO

Non-fluorinated vinyldiazo compounds with trans-configuration irrespective of the nature of 3-R(1)-substituent (R(1) = H, Me, TBSO) even under ambient conditions easily cyclize to produce pyrazoles, while cis-stereoisomers undergo similar ring closure only at elevated temperatures or decompose to produce vinyloxocarbene reaction products. The 3-CF3-substituted analogues with cis- or trans-configuration do not produce pyrazoles at all, but on heating furnish only vinylcarbene derived products. DFT calculations of theoretical energy barriers adequately explain the different experimental reactivity found for stereoisomeric vinyldiazocarbonyl compounds, and a new model for their interconversion through the corresponding pyrazoles has been suggested.

RESUMO

Acyclic diazodicarbonyl compounds react at room temperature with cycloaliphatic thioketones, e.g. 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-3-thioxocyclobutanе-1-one and adamantanethione, via a cascade process in which the key step is a 1,5-electrocyclization of the intermediate thiocarbonyl ylide leading to tetrasubstituted spirocyclic 1,3-oxathioles. The most reactive diazodicarbonyl compound was diazoacetylacetone. In the case of dimethyl diazomalonate competitive 1,3-electrocyclization yielded the corresponding thiirane at elevated temperature, which after spontaneous desulfurization produced a tetrasubstituted alkene. To explain the observed temperature dependence of the main reaction product type obtained from dimethyl diazomalonate and 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-3-thioxocyclobutanе-1-one as well as to verify reversibility of the thiocarbonyl ylide and 1,3-oxathiole interconversion, the calculations of the energy profile for the transformation of 1,3-oxathiole to alkene were performed at the DFT PBE1PBE/6-31G(d) level.

RESUMO

Incorporation of a trifluoromethyl group into the structure of 4-(alkoxycarbonyl)vinyldiazocarbonyl compounds greatly decreases the tendency of the carbenoid intermediates formed during Rh(II)-catalyzed reactions to undergo intermolecular processes. Instead, they are prone to experience intramolecular [1,5]- and [1,3]-electrocyclizations to produce reactive cyclopropenes and furans, and these are capable of further transformations.
