RESUMO

One of the most appealing quantum communication protocols is quantum teleportation, which involves sharing entanglement between the sender and receiver of the quantum state. We address the two-qubit quantum teleportation based on the Heisenberg XYZ chain with a magnetic-field gradient affected by intrinsic decoherence. An atomic spin chain is primarily coupled to the linear gradient of the magnetic field in the x-direction, with the assumption that the magnetic field varies linearly with the position of the atom. By using the concepts of fidelity and average fidelity in the presence of the magnetic field gradient and under the effect of intrinsic decoherence in the current model, and considering the variables of the system, an improved quantum teleportation can be achieved. In addition, using the concept of remote quantum estimation, we examine remote quantum sensing in this article, which is very useful in quantum communication.

Josephson parametric amplifier (JPA) engineering is a significant component in the quantum two-mode squeezed radar (QTMS) to enhance, for instance, radar performance and the detection range or bandwidth. We simulated a proposal of using engineered JPA (EJPA) to enhance the performance of a QTMS radar. We defined the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and detection range equations of the QTMS radar. The engineered JPA led to a remarkable improvement in the quantum radar performance, i.e., a large enhancement in SNR of about 6 dB more than the conventional QTMS radar (with respect to the latest version of the QTMS radar and not to the classical radar), a substantial improvement in the probability of detection through far fewer channels. The important point in this work was that we expressed the importance of choosing suitable detectors for the QTMS radars. Finally, we simulated the transmission of the signal to the target in the QTMS radar and obtained a huge increase in the QTMS radar range, up to 482 m in the current study.

Our daily diet not only provides essential nutrients needed for survival and growth but also supplies bioactive ingredients to promote health and prevent disease. Recent studies have shown that exogenous microRNAs (miRNAs), xenomiRs, may enter the consumer's body through dietary intake and regulate gene expression. This fascinating phenomenon suggests that xenomiRs can act as a new class of bioactive substances associated with mammalian systems. In contrast, several studies have failed to detect xenomiRs in consumers and reported that the observed diet-derived miRNAs in the previous studies can be related to the false positive effects of experiments. This discrepancy can be attributed to the potential artifacts related to the process of experiments, small sample size, and inefficient bioinformatics pipeline. Since this hypothesis is not generally accepted yet, more studies are required. Here, a stringent and reliable bioinformatics pipeline was used to analyze 133 miRNA sequencing data from seven different studies to investigate this phenomenon. Generally, our results do not support the transfer of diet-derived miRNAs into the animal/human tissues in every situation. Briefly, xenomiRs were absent from most samples, and also, their expressions were very low in the samples where they were present, which is unlikely to be sufficient to regulate cell transcripts. Furthermore, this study showed that the possibility of miRNAs being absorbed through animals' diets and thus influencing gene expression during specific periods of biological development is not inconceivable. In this context, our results were in agreement with the theory of the transfer of small RNAs under certain conditions and periods as xenomiRs were found in colostrum which may modulate infants' immune systems via post-transcriptional regulation. These findings provide evidence for the selective absorption of diet-derived small RNAs, which need to be investigated in future studies to shed light on the mechanisms underlying the transference of diet-derived miRNAs.

The efficiency of the CRISPR-Cas system is highly dependent on well-designed CRISPR RNA (crRNA). To facilitate the use of various types of CRISPR-Cas systems, there is a need for the development of computational tools to design crRNAs which cover different CRISPR-Cas systems with off-target analysis capability. Numerous crRNA design tools have been developed, but nearly all of them are dedicated to design crRNA for genome editing. Hence, we developed a tool matching the needs of both beginners and experts, named CaSilico, which was inspired by the limitations of the current crRNA design tools for designing crRNAs for Cas12, Cas13, and Cas14 CRISPR-Cas systems. This tool considers a comprehensive list of the principal rules that are not yet well described to design crRNA for these types. Using a list of important features such as mismatch tolerance rules, self-complementarity, GC content, frequency of cleaving base around the target site, target accessibility, and PFS (protospacer flanking site) or PAM (protospacer adjacent motif) requirement, CaSilico searches all potential crRNAs in a user-input sequence. Considering these features help users to rank all crRNAs for a sequence and make an informed decision about whether a crRNA is suited for an experiment or not. Our tool is sufficiently flexible to tune some key parameters governing the design of crRNA and identification of off-targets, which can lead to an increase in the chances of successful CRISPR-Cas experiments. CaSilico outperforms previous crRNA design tools in the following aspects: 1) supporting any reference genome/gene/transcriptome for which an FASTA file is available; 2) designing crRNAs that simultaneously target multiple sequences through conserved region detection among a set of sequences; 3) considering new CRISPR-Cas subtypes; and 4) reporting a list of different features for each candidate crRNA, which can help the user to select the best one. Given these capabilities, CaSilico addresses end-user concerns arising from the use of sophisticated bioinformatics algorithms and has a wide range of potential research applications in different areas, especially in the design of crRNA for pathogen diagnosis. CaSilico was successfully applied to design crRNAs for different genes in the SARS-CoV-2 genome, as some of the crRNAs have been experimentally tested in the previous studies.

OBJECTIVE: Mastitis is defined as the inflammation of the mammary gland, which impact directly on the production performance and welfare of dairy cattle. Since, mastitis is a multifactorial complex disease and the molecular pathways underlying this disorder have not been clearly understood yet, a system biology approach was used in this study to a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms behind mastitis. METHODS: Publicly available RNA-Seq data containing samples from milk of five infected and five healthy Holstein cows at five time points were retrieved. Gene Co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) approach and functional enrichment analysis were then applied with the aim to find the non-preserved module of genes that their connectivity were altered under infected condition. Hub genes were identified in the non-preserved modules and were subjected to protein-protein interactions (PPI) network construction. RESULTS: Among the 25 modules identified, eight modules were non-preserved and were also biologically associated with inflammation, immune response and mastitis development. Interestingly most of the hub genes in the eight modules were also densely connected in the PPI network. Of the hub genes, 250 genes were hubs in both co-expression and PPI networks and most of them were reported to play important roles in immune response or inflammatory pathways. The blue module was highly enriched in inflammatory responses and STAT1 was suggested to play an important role in mastitis development by regulating the immune related genes in this module. Moreover, a set of highly connected genes were identified such as BIRC3, PSMA6, FYN, F11R, NFKBIZ, NFKBIA, GRO1, PHB, CD3E, IL16, GSN, SOCS2, HCK, VAV1 and TLR6, which have been established to be critical for mastitis pathogenesis. CONCLUSION: This study improved the understanding of the mechanisms underlying bovine mastitis and suggested eight non-preserved modules along with several most important genes with promising potential in etiology of mastitis.

Bluetongue (BT) is a viral disease of ruminants transmitted by Culicoides biting midges and has the ability to spread rapidly over large distances. The disease occurs almost worldwide between latitudes approximately 35˚ S and 50˚ N. Among the numerous diseases of ruminants, BT has gained considerable importance in recent years as one of the best examples of the effects of climate change on disease spread. Sheep are major livestock species in Iran, but studies of BT have not gained the priority compared to other diseases. Thus, the objective of this study was to describe the distribution and seroprevalence of bluetongue virus (BTV) infections in sheep in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province of Iran, and to identify factors associated with the exposure of these sheep to BTV infection. Sera from 262 apparently healthy sheep were collected during the year 2011. The collected sera of the animals were screened with competitive enzyme like immunosorbent assay (c-ELISA). Two hundred and three (77.48%) out of 262 sera tested were positive to BTV antibodies. Statistically significant differences were found in the seroprevalence BT, between sex and age of sheep (p < 0.001). No statistically significant differences were observed in BTV seroprevalence among different seasons, nor among recently aborted and normally delivered.
