Estudo comparativo entre ultrassonografia transabdominal e transretal, para diagnóstico de gestação em caprinos mestiços de Anglo-Nubiano / Comparative study between transabdominal ultrasonography and transrectal, for diagnosis of pregnancy in mestizo goats of Caucasian Anglo-Nubiano

The present research has as objective to compare the effectiveness and practicality of technical ultrasound transabdominal and transrectal for pregnancy diagnosis in crossbred goats from Anglo-Nubian. The experiment was conducted in the goat sector of the Technical College of Bom Jesus - CTBJ, the Federal University of Piauí, Bom Jesus, Piaui. Were used 10 crossbred goats of Anglo-Nubiano that were submitted to natural coverage, with major station started on 15 March 2016 and 45 days duration. The first pregnancy diagnosis was made 30 days after the end of the breeding season (June 4, 2016), the second diagnosis accomplished 15 days after the first (June 19,2016), when it was not possible to visualize the fetus transrectal that maked not necessary to conduct a third evaluation.(AU)

Anestesia em paciente oncológico submetido à mastectomia - relato de caso / Anesthesia in cancer patient undergoing to mastectomy - case report

The choice of the ideal anesthetic protocol must consider a number of factors, providing minimum anesthetic time, little cardiopulmonary depression and management of anesthesia must keep vital signs and physiological parameters monitored. Patients with neoplasia are even more important, because, normally, middle-aged or elderly animals show changes who qualified him as patients with risk category III or IV. The present study reports the case of a female dog SRD 10-year-old carrier of breast cancer submitted to unilateral mastectomy, highlighting the importance of the anesthetic protocol used.(AU)
