RESUMO
The knowledge which nurses should have regarding the cicatrisation processes for neoplastic ulcers is important, as are the techniques and products designed for treatment of this type of lesions. On the other hand, we should be capable to provide positive reinforcement to increase the self-esteem of patients who undergo this type of wounds. This article was submitted at the VII National Symposium on Bed Sores and Chronic Wounds and at the First Latin American Congress on Ulcers and Wounds.

Es importante el conocimiento que Enfermería debe tener sobre los procesos de cicatrización de las úlceras neoplásicas, así como de las técnicas y productos destinados para el cuidado de este tipo de lesiones. Por otro lado, debemos ser capaces de proporcionar refuerzos positivos para potenciar el autoconcepto y la autoestima de los pacientes que presentan este tipo de heridas.
