[Effect of transportation noise on the status of the cardiovascular system of the population]. / Vliianie transportnykh shumov na sostoianie serdechno-sosudistoi sistemy naseleniia.

The results of a multipronged study of noise effect on the state of the cardiovascular system of the urban population are presented. The study of regular noise effect on various population groups has been conducted under natural and laboratory conditions. A complex of appropriate investigation techniques has been used. The population of noise-exposed regions has higher rates and more distinct forms of disorders in myocardium, vessel elasticity, hemodynamics, extracardial regulation and higher risk of cardiovascular disease than those living under more quiet conditions.

[Impairments of lipid metabolism in liver, kidney and heart tissues of mice infected with Proteus vulgaris]. / Nekotorye pokazateli lipisnogo obmena v tkaniakh pecheni, pochek i serdtsa pri proteinoi infektsil

Intraperitoneal administration of Proteus vulgaris living culture of various age (12 hrs and one day) caused impairments in lipid metabolism in mice liver, kidney and heart tissues. The one day-old culture was more toxic. The impairment in lipid metabolism was manifested as distinct increase in cholesterol content in liver tissue and kidney and a decrease in phospholipid content in liver, kidney and heart tissues. These changes were accompanied by an increase in content of sialic acids in liver tissue.
