[Giant uterine leiomyoma and pregnancy. Clinical, radiologic, unusual histopathologic aspects]. / Léiomyome utérin géant et grossesse. Aspects cliniques, radiologiques, histopathologiques inhabituels.

The authors report a case of uterine leiomyomas diagnosed during the first trimester of pregnancy. The most unusual presentation of this observation did not allow any diagnosis through clinical exam, either by sonographic and X ray technics (magnetic resonance imaging, computer tomography) or by the classical histological study. The intra abdominal tumors compatible with imagery are argued: ovarian cyst, gelatinous disease of the peritoneum, desmoid tumor, lymphoma, lymphangiomyoma. The right diagnosis has been established as a last resort to immunocytochemistry.

The authors report a case of multiple leiomyosarcomas of the small intestine, which is a very exceptional entity. After reviewing the pathological features and the distribution of leiomyosarcomas, they present the radiological and especially the computed tomographic findings of this type of tumour. They stress the difficulty of the differential diagnosis both in the solitary forms and in the exceptional multiple forms.

[Calcified thrombus of the inferior vena cava. Apropos of a case]. / Thrombus calcifié de la veine cave inférieure. A propos d'un cas.

A case of calcified thrombus in the inferior vena cava discovered in child during the screening of a scoliosis is presented. Standard X-rays demonstrate the calcification and allow the diagnosis of calcified thrombus. Ultrasound, if necessary, can be performed. Pathogenesis remains at the present time unknown but congenital or hemodynamic factor are probable. Children are asymptomatic and no specific treatment is advised.

Computed arthrography: its role in the screening of joint diseases in pediatric radiology.

The purpose of this study was to analyse the accuracy of combined arthrography and computed tomography in pediatric radiology. 23 patients were selected and the joints studied (n = 25) were: elbow (1), shoulder (2), knee (8) and hip (14). The contribution of computed arthrography varies according to the joint and the disease concerned. Osteochondritis dissecans of the knee appears to be the best indication.

17 cases of subacute or at once chronic osteomyelitis are shown. At this occasion, an analysis of epidemiological, topographical, clinical and bacteriological data is given. An immunological study has been made in 5 cases: diagnosis is difficult at all stages. A reflexion is proposed concerning the treatment to be performed.
