RESUMO

Background: Humanistic care pertains to the abilities, attitudes, and behaviors central to patient-centered care, contributing to patients' sense of safety and wellbeing. This study aimed to assess the satisfaction of patients with humanistic nursing care in Chinese secondary and tertiary public hospitals. Methods: A national cross-sectional survey was conducted across 30 provinces and 83 hospitals in China. Patient satisfaction with humanistic care was assessed using the Methodist Health Care System Nurse Caring Instrument (NCI), which encompasses 20 items across 12 dimensions. Each item was rated on a 7-point Likert scale, yielding a total score of 140. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed to identify factors associated with patients' satisfaction. Results: Moderate satisfaction (mean score 91.26 ± 13.14) with humanistic nursing care was observed among the 17,593 participants. Factors significantly associated with patient satisfaction included age, hospital type, presence of children, educational attainment, place of residence, family monthly income, and medical insurance type. Conclusion: The study findings highlight the importance of tailored interventions, evidence-based practice guidelines, and patient-centered care in improving patients' satisfaction with humanistic nursing care. Continuous emphasis on nursing education and professional development is crucial for enhancing humanistic care and patient satisfaction.

RESUMO

Near-infrared (NIR) photothermal therapy (PTT) is attractive for cancer treatment but is currently restricted by limited availability and insufficient NIR-II photoactivity of photothermal agents, for which artificial nanomaterials are usually used. Here, we report the first use of biogenic nanomaterials for PTT application. A fine-controlled extracellular biosynthesis of copper selenide nanoparticles (bio-Cu2-xSe) by Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 was realized. The resulting bio-Cu2-xSe, with fine sizes (∼35.5 nm) and high product purity, exhibited 76.9% photothermal conversion efficiency under 1064 nm laser irradiation, outperforming almost all the existing counterparts. The protein capping also imparted good biocompatibility to bio-Cu2-xSe to favor a safe PTT application. The in vivo PTT with injected bio-Cu2-xSe in mice (without extraction nor further modification) showed 87% tumor ablation without impairing the normal organisms. Our work not only opens a green route to synthesize the NIR-II photothermal nanomaterial but may also lay a basis for the development of bacteria-nanomaterial hybrid therapy technologies.

RESUMO

Stretchable configuration occupies priority in devising flexible conductors used in intelligent electronics and implantable sensors. While most conductive configurations cannot suppress electrical variations against extreme deformation and ignore inherent material characteristics. Herein, a spiral hybrid conductive fiber (SHCF) composed of aramid polymeric matrix and silver nanowires (AgNWs) coating is fabricated through shaping and dipping processes. The homochiral coiled configuration mimicked by plant tendrils not only enables its high elongation (958%), but also generates a superior deformation-insensitive effect to existing stretchable conductors. The resistance of SHCF maintains remarkable stability against extreme strain (500%), impact damage, air exposure (90 days), and cyclic bending (150 000 times). Moreover, the thermal-induced densification of AgNWs on SHCF achieves precise and linear temperature response toward a broad range (-20 to 100 °C). Its sensitivity further manifests high independence to tensile strain (0%-500%), allowing for flexible temperature monitoring of curved objects. Such unique strain-tolerant electrical stability and thermosensation hold broad prospects for SHCF in lossless power transferring and expeditious thermal analysis.

RESUMO

Hydrogel-based electronics have received growing attention because of their great flexibility and stretchability. However, the fabrication of conductive hydrogels with high stretchability, excellent toughness, outstanding sensitivity, and low-temperature stability still remains a great challenge. In this study, a type of conductive hydrogels consisting of a double network (DN) structure is synthesized. The dynamically cross-linked chitosan (CS) and the flexible polyacrylamide network doped with polyaniline constitute the DN through the hydrogen bonds between the hydroxyl, amide, and aniline groups. This type of hydrogels displays excellent mechanical performance, striking conductivity, and remarkable freezing tolerance. The flexible electronic sensors based on the double-network hydrogels demonstrate superior strain sensitivity and linear response on various deformations. Additionally, the good antifreezing property of the hydrogels allows the sensors to exhibit excellent performance at -20 °C.

RESUMO

This study aims to develop the expert consensus on nurse's human caring for Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in different sites, and thus provide a guideline on providing whole process and systematic caring for COVID-19 patients. Based on the frontline experiences of human caring for COVID-19 patients and the review of literature, the initial draft of consensus was made and finalized after online meeting and revisions. The experts reached consensus on the following parts: terms and definitions, principles of human caring for COVID-19 patients, and human caring measures for COVID-19 patients in different sites. The expert consensus is practical, concise, and reasonable for guiding the nurses providing human caring for COVID-19 patients, as well as other similar infectious diseases.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To explore risk factors of injection-related sharp injury and to provide safety injection guidance to healthcare takers. METHODS: A cross-sectional survey and 1:1 case-control study was used to study the epidemiological features and risk factors of sharp injuries among 3010 clinical nurses and nurse students from 13 hospitals in Guangzhou. Logistic multiple factor analysis was used. RESULTS: Eighty-seven point five percent of nurses have suffered injuries at last once time. During the past month, 37.6% of the nurses have suffered injuries at least once time. The frequency of the injuries was 0.84 per person month. Through multiple logistic regression analysis, data showed that the risk factors leading to the sharp injuries in orders were: contacting the needle more frequently, subjectively thinking that the sharp injuries as unavoidable, the atmosphere in the nursing unit was not harmonious enough, recapping habit, carelessness at work, too many patients that not cooperating, breaking the ampule off without using carbasus, crowded and noisy working place, lack of acknowledge on prevention, lack of the awareness on how to avoiding the accident, having an initiative and creative personality etc. CONCLUSION: The results provided a foundation for the department of infection control in the hospital and sanitary administration department to constitute safety injection policies.
