RESUMO

Corporate governance plays an important role in achieving high-quality economic development and sustainable corporate development. In recent years, as listed companies face increasing challenges in social responsibility issues such as environmental pollution and financial fraud, corporate governance has received widespread attention from academics and practitioners. In particular, technological innovation has attracted much attention to the development of enterprises. This paper also explores the intermediary mechanism of technological innovation based on the output measurement method of technological innovation. This study selected data from companies listed on the A-share main board of the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges in China from 2012 to 2022, aiming to explore the relationship between corporate governance and corporate performance. At the same time, we further analyzed the impact of corporate governance on corporate performance based on the mediating role of technological innovation. The research results show that equity balance degree, board size, and executive incentives all have a positive impact on corporate performance. Technological innovation has a certain mediating effect on independent variables (equity balance degree, board size, and executive incentives) and corporate performance. This study clarifies the controversy about the relationship between corporate governance and corporate performance and deepens the understanding of this relationship. It also provides empirical support for listed companies to pay attention to and improve corporate governance levels and enhance innovation capabilities. By exploring the interplay between governance mechanisms, innovation processes, and performance outcomes, researchers can gain a deeper understanding of how organizations can leverage governance practices to drive innovation-led growth and sustainable success.

RESUMO

Purpose: - This research conducted a thorough literature review to analyze current research on Employee Green Behavior (EGB) and its contexts. It identified key areas of emphasis in EGB and provided a precise roadmap for future research. Design/methodology/approach: The research on employee green behavior will be visually represented using bibliometric analysis. Additionally, we provided a comprehensive overview of the correlation between relevant theories and determinants of employee green behavior. We also offered specific suggestions for future research to deepen consumer researchers' understanding of this concept. Findings: A bibliometric analysis was conducted on 275 journal articles regarding employee green behavior sourced from the Web of Science database spanning 2012 to 2023. The study revealed an increasing focus on employee green behavior research across diverse fields such as management, economics, psychology, sociology, and law. China, the United States, and Italy emerged as the top three countries both in publication volume and literature centrality. The academic literature primarily centers on investigating antecedent variables of green employee behavior, broadly categorized into corporate social responsibility, organizational support, green human resource management, transformational and ethical leadership, organizational commitment, job satisfaction, responsible leadership, intentions, values, organizational identification, and organizational climate. To comprehensively analyze prior studies, content analysis was performed, outlining and scrutinizing four empirical areas including antecedents, mediators, moderators, and outcomes of employee green behavior. While research on antecedents and influencing mechanisms of green loyalty was prevalent among the influencing variables, boundary conditions such as moderators received relatively less attention. Originality/value: This comprehensive literature review offers a clear understanding of the conceptual content, organization, and assessment of employee green behavior. Furthermore, it includes a bibliometric analysis of 275 papers on employee green behavior published between 2012 and 2023 in the Web of Science database. The text analysis reveals insights into the theoretical foundation, antecedent and outcome variables, and processes of employee green behavior, providing valuable guidance for future research.

RESUMO

Background: The rise in the prevalence of mental health problems among adults worldwide has raised concerns, highlighting the critical need for evidence-based mental health interventions that are accessible, comprehensive, and effective. Previous research suggests that Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) is a promising intervention widely used to reduce mental health problems. Nevertheless, the current literature on the efficacy of PMR among adults globally is fragmented, indicating a potential gap in this research area. Hence, this paper aims to systematically compile the research evidence on the efficacy of PMR in adults for stress, anxiety, and depression. Methods: The Scopus, Web of Sciences, PubMed, PsycINFO, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched from the earliest available evidence to 28th March 2023. The PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items of Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses) guidelines were followed, and the protocol was registered on the Open Science Framework. Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Tools were used to assess the quality of the included studies. Results: A total of forty-six (46) publications from sixteen (16) countries covering more than 3402 adults were included in the review. The results show that PMR are effective in reducing stress, anxiety, and depression in adults. When PMR is combined with other interventions, the combined techniques have also consistently exhibited enhanced efficacy. Moreover, findings also indicate that the efficacy of PMR is heightened when implemented in conjunction with other interventions, surpassing its standalone efficacy. Funding and Registration: This research was supported/funded by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) under the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) (FRGS/1/2020/SS0/UTM/02/23). The review was registered on Open Science Framework (OSF) on the 7th of March 2023; DOI: https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/U2HZP.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that causes the social breakdown of relationships with others. Patients with schizophrenia interpret reality and verbal communication in an abnormal way. They experience great difficulty in building and maintaining of social relationships within society. They also experience barriers in communication and motivation that hinder their readiness for treatment. The willingness of patients with schizophrenia to be treated improves mental illness, social support and other health-related issues. The main purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between social support and willingness for treatment in patients with Schizophrenia. METHODS: The qualitative research approach was used to solicit and capture more in-depth information from participants. The research design was phenomenological in nature. A cross-sectional survey method was employed. The sample consisted of twenty female patients diagnosed with schizophrenia, seven psychiatrists, and seven psychologists. A semi-structured interview guide was developed to collect the data. The interview guide covered three themes. The first theme included four questions for patients with schizophrenia. The second theme consisted of six questions for the psychiatrists and the third theme included two questions for the psychologists. Interview data were analysed through frame workanalysis. RESULTS: The results of the study showed that social support plays an essential role in the improvement of patients with schizophrenia. Psychiatrists with the help of medication and therapies reduce the negativity and anxiety level of patients and motivate patients to accept treatment. Through counseling, psychologists help patients with schizophrenia build social skills such as the ability to engage in eye contact. CONCLUSION: It is revealed that the social support is closely related to the willingness for treatment in patients with schizophrenia. Therefore, social support is recommended in the course of treatment of patients with schizophrenia.

RESUMO

Background and Aims: Malaysia's first Movement Control Order (MCO) or "lockdown" was in place for 6 weeks to curb the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Consequently, all universities were forced to close temporarily with abrupt changes to teaching and learning activities. However, there has been a lack of consensus regarding students' actual psychological status and mental health during the MCO implementation. This study investigates the link, state, and differences of negative emotional symptoms, happiness, and work-life balance among university students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methodology: This study recruited 1,005 university students across Malaysia. Data was collected online using Qualtrics to measure negative emotional symptoms (The Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale), happiness (The Oxford Happiness Inventory), and work-life balance (Work-Family Conflict Scale). All data was analyzed using SPSS version 25 and AMOS version 26 using T-test, ANOVA, logistic regression analyses, and path analysis method. Findings: Findings indicated that 22, 34.3, and 37.3% of the university students scored moderate to extremely severe levels of stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms, respectively. Half scored rather happy or very happy (50%) for happiness levels. Meanwhile, 50.4 and 39.4% scored high to very high levels of work-to-family and family-to-work conflict. Significant differences in stress, anxiety, depression, happiness, work-family conflict, and family-work conflict were recorded across different demographic factors. Happiness was found to be a protective factor with a lesser likelihood of experiencing severe stress (OR = 0.240, 95% CI: 0.180, 0.321), anxiety (OR = 0.336, 95% CI: 0.273, 0.414), and depression (OR = 0.121, 95% CI: 0.088, 0.165) with higher happiness levels. Higher score of work-to-family conflict contributes to greater odds of having severe levels of anxiety (OR = 1.453, 95% CI: 1.161, 1.818). While greater likelihood of developing severe stress (OR = 1.468, 95% CI: 1.109, 1.943) and severe anxiety (OR = 1.317, 95% CI: 1.059, 1.638) under increasing score of family-to-work conflict. Besides, happiness is found to negatively linked with lower negative emotional symptoms, while work-family conflict and family-work conflict are positively linked with higher negative emotional symptoms. Conclusion: Lockdown implementation during the COVID-19 pandemic appears to have a significant impact on university students' negative emotional symptoms, happiness, and work-life balance. Happiness was found to be a protective factor while the state of work-life balance is a risk factor that can predict students' negative emotional symptoms.
