Coronary angiographic and scintigraphic (using 201Tl) studies in 139 patients with verified diagnosis of chronic coronary heart disease demonstrated high sensitivity (85.6%) of myocardial perfusion scintigraphy with respect to detecting disorders of myocardial blood supply due to the stenosis of major coronary arteries and microcirculation disorders. False negative scintigraphic results in the screening for perfusion defects are commonly due to the shortcomings of semiquantitative assessment of the scintigrams.

[Dilatation reserves of the myocardial microcirculation in ischemic heart disease patients based on scanning data using labelled microspheres]. / Sostoianie rasshiritel'nykh rezervov mikrotsirkuliatsii miokarda u bol'nykh ishemicheskoi bolezn'iu serdtsa po dannym skennirovaniia s mechenymi mikrosferami.

Labelled microspheres in combination with reactive myocardial hyperemia were used to assess the state of the expansion reserves of the myocardial microcirculation in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). It was found that in the majority of CHD patients the expansion reserves were reduced whereas in patients with marked atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries and post-infarction cardiosclerosis they were absent altogether.

[Importance of echocardiographic study in assessing left ventricular contractility in ischemic heart disease]. / Znachenie ékohokardiograficheskogo issledovaniia pri otsenke sokratimosti levogo zheludochka u bol'nykh ishemicheskoi bolezn'iu serdtsa.

Echocardiographic examination was conducted in 41 patients with ischemic heart disease. The results were compared with the findings of ventriculography. It was established that echocardiography reveals the presence of zones of asynergia in the left ventricular myocardium in the diaphragmatic and anterolateral areas in a high percentage of cases, but it is practically impossible to determine affection of the apical segments by this method.

[Evaluation of myocardial contractile function in chronic postinfarct cardiac aneurysm]. / K otsenke sokratitel'noi funktsii miokarda u bol'nykh s khronicheskoi postinfarktnoi anevrizmoi serdtsa.

The ventriculograms of patients with chronic postinfarction aneurysm of the heart were studied with the use of separate analysis of the contraction indices of the functioning and non-functioning parts of the left ventricular myocardium. Relatively high indices of the ejection fraction of the functioning part of the myocardium with low indices of the total ejection fraction were noted. A correlative dependence was found between the total ejection fraction and the ratio of the volumes of the nonfunctioning part of the myocardium during systole and diastole to the total volume of the left ventricle during the same phases, which is evidence that these indices are important in appraising myocardial contractile function in aneurysm of the heart.
