RESUMO

Dissociation of acrylonitrile into pairs of cations and neutral fragments following molecular core ionization was investigated using the photoelectron-photoion-photoion coincidence (PEPIPICO) technique. The fragment ion mass spectra were recorded in coincidence with the carbon 1s photoelectrons. Deuterated and (13)C-substituted samples were used for resolving fragment mass ambiguities. Slope analysis of the PEPIPICO patterns was used in determining the fragment separation sequences in case of multiparticle processes. The results show that there are several fragmentation channels producing a wide range of charged coincident fragments. The dynamics of the dominant fragmentation processes is investigated in detail.

RESUMO

AIMS: To isolate aerobic mesophilic bacilli and thermophilic bacteria from different paper mill samples and to evaluate their potential harmfulness. METHODS AND RESULTS: A total of 109 mesophilic and 68 thermophilic isolates were purified and characterized by automated ribotyping and partial 16S rDNA sequencing. The mesophilic isolates belonged to the genera Bacillus (13 taxa), Brevibacillus (three taxa) and Paenibacillus (five taxa). The thermophilic bacteria represented seven taxa of Bacillus, Geobacillus or Paenibacillus, four of proteobacteria and one of actinobacteria. The most frequently occurring bacteria were Bacillus cereus, B. licheniformis, Pseudoxanthomonas taiwanensis and bacteria closely related to Paenibacillus stellifer, P. turicensis or Leptothrix sp. One mill was contaminated throughout with bacteria of a novel mesophilic genus most closely related to Brevibacillus centrosporus and another with bacteria of a novel thermophilic genus most closely related to Hydrogenophilus thermoluteolus. One B. cereus isolate producing haemolytic diarrhoeal enterotoxin was detected and all the tested B. licheniformis isolates produced a metabolite toxic to boar sperm cells. CONCLUSIONS: The bacilli and thermophilic bacteria isolated represent species which should not present occupational hazards in paper mill environments. The most harmful bacterium detected was B. licheniformis and potentially also B. cereus. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY: Knowledge of the microbial diversity in a paper mill provides a rational basis for development of an effective controlling programme. A database constructed from the fingerprints generated using automated ribotyping helps to identify and trace the contamination routes of bacteria occurring in paper mills.

RESUMO

The effects of various fats and fatty acids on the growth of Lactobacillus delbrueckii strains have been studied using modified MRS broth without Tween 80 as a basic growth medium. Among the six L. delbrueckii strains studied all except one strain required Tween 80 or Tween 20 as a fatty acid supplement for the growth. Tween 40 and Tween 60, which contain solely medium and long chain saturated fatty acids, inhibited the growth of all L. delbrueckii strains when present as a sole fat supplement in MRS broth. Free oleic acid but not free lauric acid could substitute Tween 80 or Tween 20 supplement suggesting that unsaturated fatty acids are essential growth factors for most L. delbrueckii strains. Among the natural food oils tested, the oils containing the lowest amounts of saturated long chain fatty acids promoted the growth of L. delbrueckii most effectively. Especially cellular C18:1 and C19 cyclopropane fatty acid contents of L. delbrueckii were strongly affected by exogenous fatty acid composition and by strain suggesting genetic diversity and polymorphism among the genes encoding and/or regulating cyclopropane synthase. In addition obviously most if not all L. delbrueckii strains lack particular synthase, desaturase and/or dehydrase activities required for de novo synthesis of long chain unsaturated fatty acids. These biochemical features could be used as informative chemotaxonomic characteristics for L. delbrueckii starter strain identification and selection.

RESUMO

The discharge and continuity of care of the patient suffering circulatory disorders in brains are discussed in this article. In nursing care it is essential to draw attention to the following issues: active nursing care from the beginning of care emphasizing discharge, to inform the patient of the nursing care plan and implementation participation of the patient's family in the nursing care plan as early a stage as possible to settle the matters at home carefully (stairs, lift, thresholds, doors, floor material, toilet facilities, communication facilities etc.) good cooperation and information between the ward and the personnel in charge of the continuity of care in primary care services, social services and family equal, emphatic, individual and trustworthy attitude towards the patient and the family.
