[Risk factors in patients with arterial hypertension]. / Fatores de risco em indivíduos com hipertensão arterial.

The aim of this research was to verify the habits related to the risk factors of one population with arterial hypertension. Seventy individuals were interviewed. Authors found that the majority do not practice any kind of physical exercise, they do not have leisure activities and need education programs to acquire these habits. There are gaps in information, because they have their own experience as a reference, in spite of the orientations they received from several professionals.

[Communication between the patient care team and patients with hypertension]. / Comunicação da equipe multiprofissional e indivíduos portadores de hipertensão arterial.

This study aims to analyse data on hypertensive individuals and their concern about the disease as well as to verify the communication process that took place between the individuals and the health staff working with them. Sixty-six individuals were interviewed and we obtained 73 statements. The majority of them (69 narratives) expressed correlation to high blood pressure concepts even though in a poorly elaborated form. Although 95% of the patients referred to the illness, it does not mean that the orientations were understood. Nurses are expected to perform an important role in the multiprofessional team, identifying possible obstacles to the process of communication in order to enable the clients' comprehension and their self care.

[Operational model of case studies as a teaching strategy for medical-surgical nursing. Student evaluation]. / Modelo operacional do estudo de caso como estratégia de ensino na disciplina de enfermagem médico-cirúrgica: avaliação dos alunos.

The study deals with a descriptive research, with the aim of assessing the contribution and difficulties expressed by students, utilizing the case study operational model, proposed by the authors as one of the teaching strategies used in Medical-Surgical Courses. In order to implement and perform the answer content analysis given by the students, authors used thematic analysis according to Bardin. With the performance of this investigation, we concluded that: students recognize the model as a teaching strategy in the formation of themselves, mainly related to theoretical and practical knowledge (70%). It encouraged them to decision making process autonomy and problem solving area besides stimulated them by using library resources. The other contribution related to knowledge refers to scientific methodology (30%), where the model emerges as an initiation strategy to this activity. Difficulties expressed by students in preparing the case study occurred in the following stage;-bibliographical survey (58%), to mainly lack of specific and updated bibliography in nursing area and lack of access indexes;-in the work essay (27%). It also revealed that the study case contributed to basic knowledge about the elaboration of a scientific essay; among others (15%).

[The trash collection service: occupational risks versus damages to health]. / O serviço dos coletores de lixo: riscos ocupacionais versus agravos à saúde.

The authors studied the kind of work a sample of 36 garbage collectors have been doing in a city of the State of São Paulo. A high frequency of occupational accidents and sick-due to health problem and some occupational risks was observed among them, and also that these worker haven't worn the individual protection equipment received, that probably contributes to such number of stop working.
