RESUMO
High-pressure liquid chromatography was used for measuring the content of amino acids in various portions of the gastrointestinal tract and for correcting the composition thereof using carbon adsorbents of different composition. Standard Beckman equipment and methods routinely used for analysis of plasma and serum were used. The data are well reproducible and permit us to recommend this highly sensitive method for investigating amino acid metabolism and for its correction in the digestive tract.

Diagnostic potentialities of the crystallo-optic++ analysis of cupric chloride crystallographs++ were studied in 76 children with pyelonephritis and in 50 children with glomerulonephritis. The structural and morphological characteristics of cupric chloride crystallization under the influence of the urine from children with pyelo- and glomerulonephritis may serve as the additional differential-diagnostic signs of the diseases. The use of raster electron microscopy widens the diagnostic potentialities of the crystallographic method. Different dimensions of the little crystals formed as a result of isomorphic replacement of copper atoms by potassium ions (and, possibly, by sodium ions) and in the presence of urea and creatinine underlie the differences in cupric chloride crystallographs.

A study of 179 patients with functional and organic diseases of the bile tract revealed that changes of the blood phospholipids and their spectra in the blood is observed at more early stages of the disease, functional pathology and that an increased PGE2/PGF2 indicates a deficit of polyunsaturated fatty acids and prevalence of the processes of break-up of prostaglandins over their synthesis.

The introduction of prophylactics of hepatitis B in surgical departments results in 2 times lower growth of HBsAg carriers among medical men. The main prophylactic measures consist in an analysis of the donor blood and HBsAg examination of surgical patients, treatment of HBsAg carriers as acutely contagious persons, centralized sterilization of medical instruments and individual protection of the personnel.

The content of lipids transported by serum albumin was determined in healthy people and in patients suffering from diseases of the hepatopancreatoduodenal zone. The method of gas-liquid chromatography detected 30 fatty acids and the components of steroid nature lipid extracts of albumin. The content of oleic, palmitic, linoleic, stearic and arachidonic acids in the extracts is the highest. Their amount in norm is 75% of all fatty acids. It is shown that bilirubin displaces steroids from the sites of their fixation in albumin. With diseases of the hepatopancreatoduodenal zone serum albumin transports a greater amount of fatty acids with C14-C19 and less amount of those with C20-C25. A constant decrease in the arachidonic acid content is the most typical of the hepatobiliary system diseases.
