RESUMO

The level of 35S-methionine incorporation (in 15, 30 min, 1, 2, 3, 6, 12, 24 h) has been investigated in A- and B-cells of the pigeon and rat pancreatic islets against the background of excessive injection of hydrocortisone. The pigeon and rat A- and B-endocrinocytes respond in a similar was to the excess of hydrocortisone. An accelerated elimination of the isotope from the pigeon A- and B-endocrinocytes is noted, while in the rat the effect of the excessive hydrocortisone is opposite.

RESUMO

Under conditions of physiological loading at feeding, histologically and radio-autographically (35S-methionine), granuloformation and protein metabolism have been studied in exocrinic pancreocytes in mature white rats under abundant injection of hydrocortisone (6 daily injections, 1 mg per 100 g of body mass). The procedure stimulates formation of zymogen granules, but intensity of the excretion remains unchanged. This results in overfilling the cell with the secretory product, considered as the base of the alterative changes, that in their turn could stimulate the development of the steroid pancreatitis.

RESUMO

By means of histological, historadioautographical and biochemical methods the effect produced by disturbances in hormonal balance of the adrenal cortex (corticosteroids) on the islet apparatus of the pancreas in the lamprey (Lampetra fluviatilis), the frog (Rana temporaria), the tortoise (Testudo horsfieldi), the pigeon (Columbia livia), the white rat (Rattus rattus) has been studied during autumn-winter period. Chronic injections of hydrocortisone and desoxycorticosterone-acetate are used to change the hormonal balance in the adrenal cortex. In Cyclostomata, Amphibia and Reptilia gluco- and mineralocorticoids produce similar effects by increasing glycemia level. In birds and Mammalia glucocorticoids increase glycemia level, and mineralocorticoids do not change it. An increased glucose level in the organism of the representatives of various Mammalian classes after an excess injection of glucocorticoids is accompanied with a mainfested degranulation, hypertrophy of the Golgi complex, vacuolization of aldehydefuchsin-positive B-cell. Glucocorticoides increase the level of 35S-methyonine incorporation into B-cells of Langerhans islet in the representatives of all the vertebral classes studied. Mineralocorticoids act similarly as glucocorticoids stimulating protein metabolism only in Amphibia and birds. The level of immunoreactive insulin (IRI) in response to glucocorticoids injection increases in Amphibia and Mammalia and remains unchanged in Cyclostomata, Reptilia and birds. IRI remains unchanged after injection of mineralocorticoids in all representatives of Vertebrata, besides Cyclostomata in which IRI decreases.

RESUMO

Complications due to antibiotic therapy in rheumatic patients subjected to season bicillin prophylaxis in Minsk within 1965--1975 and in patients with extensive collagenoses were studied. Allergic complications mainly ih the form of allergic reactions in the patients treated with bicillin-3 or picillin-5 were observed in 7.8--16.8 per cent of the patients. Within 10 years 52 cases of anaphylactic shock due to the bicillin use were recorded. Side reactions to antibiotics were observed in 16 (17.3 per cent) out of 92 patients with extensive collagenoses. For prophylaxis of the above complications it is recommended to use rational antibiotic therapy in rheumatic patients, strict registration of allergological states in the anamnesis, testing of microbial sensitivity to the antibiotics.

RESUMO

Animals were kept for 24 hours at 3-5 degrees C in sea water to which 100 mg% of glucose was added. Control animals were kept in the sea water without glucose. In gut epithelium of the lancelot 3 types of cells were revealed which correspond to those described earlier, viz. "digestive", "zymogen" and fine granular ones. Cytoplasm of the cells of the III type contains numerous granules of paraldehydefuchsine-positive material. After glucose loading, degranulation of the cytoplasm in these cells is more intensive than in cells of two other types. The product is released into the gut. The possibility of production of insulin or insulin-like substance by the cells of the III type is discussed.
