RESUMO

The results of radiphosphotherapy in 20 patients with iodine-negative metastases of thyroid cancer in the lung and bones have been analyzed. The treatment was carried out in two stages: radical surgery and 32P therapy of metastases. A dose of 100-185 MBq of the radionuclide was administrated weekly (total dose-300-700 MBq). As a result, improvement in treating stage IV thyroid tumor was registered.

RESUMO

The end-results of iodine radionuclide therapy of 62 patients with lung metastases of thyroid cancer have been evaluated. The treatment was carried out in two stages: radical surgery and 131I therapy of metastases. Single dosage was 2,700-5,000 MBq; total dosage-10,000-40,000 MBq. As a result, all patients survived 3 and 5 years.

RESUMO

Neutron-activation method was employed to determine the concentration of magnium, sodium, chlorine, phosphorus and calcium in different bone tumors. In relation to normal skeletal tissue in tumor tissues higher concentrations of chlorine and sodium but lower concentrations of calcium and phosphorus were found. The greatest changes in the macromolecular content were noted in sarcoma tissues. Bone tumors differ reliably one from the other by concentrations or ratios of macroelements concentrations, this fact may be used for the differential diagnosis.
