Dental implants are one of the established treatment protocols to replace/restore lost tooth/teeth structures. Ihde and Ihde redefined concept of strategic implantology based on immediate loading. The aim of present case series was to evaluate efficacy of strategic implants regarding primary stability, quality of bone, survival, and clinical success in long-term. The present case series included a total of 26 patients aged 40 to 70 years restored with strategic implants after an immediate loading protocol. On follow-up visits, clinical assessment of implant stability was done by absence of implant mobility and absence of pain and dysesthesia while radiographically, immediate postoperative crestal bone level was compared with that observed on follow-up visits. Also, integration of apical and/or crestal threads of implants were assessed radiographically for any signs of radiolucency along with healing of sockets and crestal bone levels in relation to abutment margins.

Melanoma is an extremely dangerous disease. The diagnosis and treatment of it may be difficult because of its diversity and complexity. More than 90% of the marine biomass (microflora and microalgae) constitutes the natural biodiversity reserves. TLR-related research developments indicate possible cancer therapeutic possibilities. In addition to its significant function in innate immunity, TLR activation is connected to the start of pyroptosis, apoptosis, or autophagy in malignance cells. For these reasons, TLR agonists are appealing candidates for the production of cancer medications. From the web databases, the ternary structures of the receptors (TLR3 and TLR4) and ligands are extracted. Sixty-nine compounds were subjected to a drug likeness filter, but only twenty-two were screened further for evaluating ADMET criteria, in which only seven compounds satisfied the pharmacological properties. These compounds are further analyzed for docking parameters against TLRs (TLR3 and TLR4) and molecular simulation investigation of the best cluster to evaluate the complex stability. Molecular docking methodology discovered that Scytonmein has a significant binding potential energy of -5.21 and -7.92 kcal/mol against TLR3 and TLR4, respectively, in comparison to the redock co-crystal structure (-3.98 and -4.30 kcal/mol, respectively). The simulation analysis demonstrates the significant stability of the Scytonemin and TLR4 complexes in terms of average RMSD and RMSF compared to the redock complex, while criteria like solvent-accessible surface area (SASA), gyration (Rg) and hydrogen bonding have further supported the significant interaction and stability of the conformations.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Leprosy is one of the chronic diseases with which humanity has struggled globally for millennia. The potent anti-leprosy medications rifampicin, clofazimine and dapsone, among others, are used to treat leprosy. Nevertheless, even in regions of the world where these drugs have been successfully implemented, resistance continues to be observed. Due to the problems with the current treatments, this disease should be fought at every level of society with new drugs. The purpose of this research was to identify natural candidates with the ability to inhibit MabA (gene-fabG1) with fewer negative effects. The work was accomplished through molecular docking, followed by a dynamic investigation of protein-ligand, which play a significant role in the design of pharmaceuticals. After modelling the protein structure with MODELLER 9.21v, AutoDock Vina was used to perform molecular docking with 13 3 D anti-leprosy medicines and a zinc library to determine the optimal protein-ligand interaction. In addition, the docking result was filtered based on binding energy, ADMET characteristics, PASS analysis and the most crucial binding residues. The ZINC08101051 chemical compound was prioritized for further study. Using an all-atom 100 ns MD simulation, the binding pattern and conformational changes in protein upon ligand binding were studied. Recommendation for subsequent validation based on deviation, fluctuation, gyration and hydrogen bond analysis, followed by main component and free energy landscape.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. OBJECTIVE: The objective of the present study was to evaluate and compare primary and secondary implant stability of conical endosteal implants placed using osseodensification osteotomy and conventional osteotomy techniques. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The present invivo study was designed as a prospective, observational study in which a total of 26 endosteal implants were placed in the posterior edentulous regions of upper and lower jaws in 13 patients divided into two groups, Group A and Group B. In Group A, implants were placed using osseodensification osteotomy technique while in Group B, conventional osteotomy technique was used. Primary implant stability was measured in both groups immediately after implant placement while secondary implant stability was measured in both groups at an interval of 4 months. Statistical analysis was done using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20.00 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA) while an independent t-test, also, called Student's t-test was used to conduct the analysis. RESULTS: The mean value of primary implant stability in Group A was found to be 74.5 as against that in Group B which was 62.08 (P-value 0.001). Likewise, the mean value of secondary implant stability in Group A after 4 months' interval was 70.92 while in Group B, it was found to be 63.69 (P-value 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The dental implants placed with the osseodensification technique showed higher mean primary and secondary implant stability values when compared to implants placed by the conventional technique.

INTRODUCTION: Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a solitary, benign vascular growth. The precise cause for the development of pyogenic granuloma is unknown. It is believed, however, to be an exuberant tissue response to local irritation or trauma. Up to date, few studies have been carried out among Asians, particularly on the Indian subcontinent. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Biopsy services were researched from 1989 to 2009. Two hundred-fifteen histologically confirmed PGs were retrieved and retrospectively analyzed for incidence, age, gender, site distribution, clinical presentation and histopathology. These cases were also evaluated for recurrence. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Pyogenic granuloma accounted for 50.35% among reactive lesions in this study with a mean age of 34.27 years and a peak incidence in the third decade of life. PG was more common in females with a greater predilection for the maxillary gingivae (50.23%). Eighteen cases occurred in pregnant women. Clinically, PG occurred more frequently as pedunculated lesions (103). Gingival irritation and inflammation due to poor oral hygiene were the major precipitating factors. Histologically, PG presented a greater number of vascular channels of varied sizes, lined with plump endothelial cells, capillary budding, and chronic inflammatory cells, namely lymphocytes and plasma cells. Recurrence was seen in 14.88% of patients, predominantly in females, especially in the maxillary anterior region. CONCLUSION: Among the reactive lesions, PG had the highest incidence. The frequency of pyogenic granuloma in the southern part of India was much higher compared to other studies. Additional epidemiological research is required to understand the frequency.
