PURPOSE: There have been insufficient data regarding the long-term results of unrestricted kinematically aligned total knee arthroplasty (unKATKA) in Asian patients. We investigated mid- to long-term clinical and radiological follow-up data of Korean patients after caliper-verified unKATKA of minimum 7.4-10 years including categorised data of postoperative tibial component, limb and knee alignment. Additionally, we analysed the preoperative distribution and postoperative restoration of coronal plane alignment of knee (CPAK) phenotypes. METHODS: This study is a retrospective analysis of 63 patients: 96 osteoarthritic underwent consecutive caliper-verified unKATKA between October 2013 and May 2016 by a single surgeon. Implant survivorship was investigated for revision for any reason. Each knee was categorised into an in-range or outlier group by three postoperative alignment parameters: tibial component, knee and limb alignment. Statistical analyses were done for any significant differences in clinical scores and implant survival rates between groups. Finally, all knees were classified into CPAK classification postoperatively and postoperatively. The CPAK restoration rate was calculated. RESULTS: Among 85 knees in the clinically confirmed group, implant survival was 98.8%. There was one case of revision due to periprosthetic fracture. The percentage postoperatively aligned in the varus (valgus) outlier range was 100% (0%) for tibial component, 16.7% (24.8%) for the knee alignment and 51% (0%) for the limb alignment. All three categories did not affect implant survival or clinical scores. Eighty one out of 96 knees (84.4%) were restored to their CPAK phenotype postoperatively. CONCLUSION: With the limitation of a case series having a small number of patients and gender deviation, our study suggests that caliper-verified unKATKA could be a good option regardless of geographical variation of constitutional alignment in patients with osteoarthritis (OA). BACKGROUND: To establish a nomogram to predict the probability of survival of patients with stage II/III gastric cancer (GC) who received incomplete peri-operative adjuvant chemotherapy (PAC). METHODS: The medical records of stage II/III GC patients who received curative resection and 1 to 5 cycles of PAC from two tertiary hospitals were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were randomly classified into either a training group or validation group at a ratio of 7:3. The nomogram was constructed based on various prognostic factors using Cox regression analysis in the training cohort, and was validated by the validation group. Concordance index and calibration curves were used to evaluate the discrimination and calibration of the nomogram. Additionally, decision curve analysis (DCA) was used to compare the net clinical benefits of the nomogram and eighth version of TNM staging system. RESULTS: A total of 1,070 consecutive patients were included and 749 patients were enrolled into the training group. Lower body mass index (< 18.5 kg/m2), total gastrectomy, stage III disease and fewer cycles of PAC were identified to be independent predictors for poorer survival. The area under the curve (AUC) values of receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve predicting 5-year survival probabilities and C-index were 0.768 and 0.742, 0.700 (95%CI: 0.674-0.726) and 0.689 (95%CI: 0.646-0.732) in the training and validation groups, respectively. The calibration curves in the validation cohort showed good agreement between the prediction and observation of 1-, 3- and 5-year survival probabilities. Furthermore, DCA showed that our model has a better net benefit than that of TNM staging system. CONCLUSIONS: The findings emphasize the value of completing PAC. The nomogram which was established to predict survival probability in patients with stage II/III GC receiving radical gastrectomy and incomplete PAC had good accuracy and was verified through both internal and external validation.

PURPOSE@#Mannitol is one of the first-line drugs for reducing cerebral edema through increasing the extracellular osmotic pressure. However, long-term administration of mannitol in the treatment of cerebral edema triggers damage to neurons and astrocytes. Given that neural stem cell (NSC) is a subpopulation of main regenerative cells in the central nervous system after injury, the effect of mannitol on NSC is still elusive. The present study aims to elucidate the role of mannitol in NSC proliferation.@*METHODS@#C57 mice were derived from the animal house of Zunyi Medical University. A total of 15 pregnant mice were employed for the purpose of isolating NSCs in this investigation. Initially, mouse primary NSCs were isolated from the embryonic cortex of mice and subsequently identified through immunofluorescence staining. In order to investigate the impact of mannitol on NSC proliferation, both cell counting kit-8 assays and neurospheres formation assays were conducted. The in vitro effects of mannitol were examined at various doses and time points. In order to elucidate the role of Aquaporin 4 (AQP4) in the suppressive effect of mannitol on NSC proliferation, various assays including reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, western blotting, and immunocytochemistry were conducted on control and mannitol-treated groups. Additionally, the phosphorylated p38 (p-p38) was examined to explore the potential mechanism underlying the inhibitory effect of mannitol on NSC proliferation. Finally, to further confirm the involvement of the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase-dependent (MAPK) signaling pathway in the observed inhibition of NSC proliferation by mannitol, SB203580 was employed. All data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 software (SPSS, Inc., Chicago, IL). The statistical analysis among multiple comparisons was performed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by Turkey's post hoc test in case of the data following a normal distribution using a Shapiro-Wilk normality test. Comparisons between 2 groups were determined using Student's t-test, if the data exhibited a normal distribution using a Shapiro-Wilk normality test. Meanwhile, data were shown as median and interquartile range and analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test, if the data failed the normality test. A p < 0.05 was considered as significant difference.@*RESULTS@#Primary NSC were isolated from the mice, and the characteristics were identified using immunostaining analysis. Thereafter, the results indicated that mannitol held the capability of inhibiting NSC proliferation in a dose-dependent and time-dependent manner using cell counting kit-8, neurospheres formation, and immunostaining of Nestin and Ki67 assays. During the process of mannitol suppressing NSC proliferation, the expression of AQP4 mRNA and protein was downregulated, while the gene expression of p-p38 was elevated by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, immunostaining, and western blotting assays. Subsequently, the administration of SB203580, one of the p38 MAPK signaling pathway inhibitors, partially abrogated this inhibitory effect resulting from mannitol, supporting the fact that the p38 MAPK signaling pathway participated in curbing NSC proliferation induced by mannitol.@*CONCLUSIONS@#Mannitol inhibits NSC proliferation through downregulating AQP4, while upregulating the expression of p-p38 MAPK.

BACKGROUND: A high incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most frequently diagnosed form of liver cancer, is observed in Africa and Asia. SYVN1 is upregulated in HCC; however, the biological roles of SYVN1 in immune evasion remain unclear. METHODS: RT-qPCR and western blot were employed to detect the expression levels of SYVN1 and the key molecules in HCC cells and tissues. Flow cytometry was used to determine the proportion of T cells, and an ELISA assay was used to determine the amount of IFN-γ secreted. Cell viability was monitored by CCK-8 and colony formation assays. The metastatic properties of HCC cells were detected by Transwell assays. Bioinformatics analysis, ChIP, and luciferase assays were used to study the transcriptional regulation of PD-L1. Co-IP was used to detect direct interaction between SYVN1 and FoxO1, as well as the ubiquitination of FoxO1. The in vitro findings were validated in xenograft and lung metastasis models. RESULTS: In HCC cells and tissues, SYVN1 was upregulated while FoxO1 was downregulated. SYVN1 knockdown or FoxO1 overexpression reduced PD-L1 expression, and inhibited immune evasion, cell growth, and metastasis in HCC cells. Mechanistically, FoxO1 regulated PD-L1 transcription in a ß-catenin-independent or -dependent manner. Functional studies further showed that SYVN1 promoted immune evasion, cell proliferation, migration and invasion via facilitating ubiquitin-proteasome-dependent degradation of FoxO1. In vivo investigations showed that silencing of SYVN1 inhibited immune evasion and metastasis of HCC cells, possible via the FoxO1/PD-L1 axis. CONCLUSION: SYVN1 regulates FoxO1 ubiquitination to stimulate ß-catenin nuclear translocation and promotes PD-L1-mediated metastasis and immune evasion in HCC.

RESUMO

In recent years, the use of active substances as excipients or as substitutes for other excipients in the design of modern drug delivery systems has received widespread attention, which has promoted the development of the theory of unification of medicines and excipients in the design of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) preparations. Adopting the theory of unification of medicines and excipients to design drug delivery systems can reduce the use of excipients and thus the cost of preparations, reduce drug toxicity, increase drug solubility and biocompatibility, enhance synergistic effect, and realize targeted delivery and simultaneous delivery of multiple components. However, the research on the application of this theory in the modern drug delivery system of TCM preparations is still insufficient, with few relevant articles. In addition, the TCM active substances that can be used as the excipients remain to be catalogued. In this paper, we review the types and applications of the drug delivery systems with TCM active substances as excipients and describe their common construction methods and mechanisms, aiming to provide references for the in-depth research on the modern drug delivery systems for TCM preparations.

Background: Kinematically aligned total knee arthroplasty (KA-TKA) may lead to a different pattern of osteotomy from mechanically aligned total knee arthroplasty (MA-TKA). This paper aims to analyze the effects of KA and MA on the morphology of the distal femoral osteotomy surface. Methods: Computed tomography scans of 80 TKA candidates were reconstructed into 3D models. The measurement of bone morphology was performed after the distal femur cut according to two different alignment techniques. The aspect ratio, trapezoidicity ratio, and asymmetry ratio of the distal femur were assessed. Results: The aspect ratio and the asymmetry ratio in the KA group was significantly lower than that in the MA group in the general population (p < 0.001). The trapezoidicity ratio in the KA group was significantly higher than that in the MA group in the general population (p < 0.001). Conclusions: It was found that KA-TKA and MA-TKA presented different morphologies of the distal femoral osteotomy surface, and this difference was also influenced by gender. The surgery pattern of KA-TKA and MA-TKA and gender should be considered when surgeons choose femoral prostheses.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE: To investigate the influence of pre-operative immunological and nutritional status, assessed by the prognostic nutritional index (PNI) score, on post-operative infection, and the potential additive effects of low PNI and infection on prognosis after radical resection of stage II/III gastric cancer (GC). METHODS: The medical records of 2352 consecutive stage II/III GC patients who underwent radical gastrectomy were retrospectively reviewed. The independent predictors for infections were identified using univariate and multivariate analyses. Cox regression analysis was used to assess any associations between PNI, infection and OS. RESULTS: A total of 160 (6.8%) cases developed infections and low PNI (< 43.9) was confirmed as an independent predictor. Both PNI < 43.9 and infections independently predicted poor OS (hazard ratio: 1.163, 95% confidence interval: 1.007-1.343; HR: 1.347, 95%CI: 1.067-1.700), and an additive effect was confirmed as patients with both low PNI and infection had worst OS. Further stratified analyses showed that complete peri-operative adjuvant chemotherapy (PAC, ≥ 6 cycles) could significantly improve OS in patients with low PNI and/or infection, which was comparable to those with PNI ≥ 43.9 and/or infection (P = 0.160). CONCLUSIONS: Infection was the most common complication after gastrectomy and PNI < 43.9 was identified as an independent predictor. Low PNI was associated with poorer OS in stage II/III GC, independent of infections, and low PNI and infections had a synergistic effect that was associated with worst OS. However, complete PAC could significantly improve OS in these patients. Thus, strategies to decrease infection and complete PAC should be further investigated.

As an important parasitic site of leprosy bacteria, Schwann cells are closely related to leprosy immunity, and the research on these cells is of great significance.

PURPOSE: We analyzed the microstructure and bone mineral density (BMD) of the trabecular bone in the femoral head of patients with osteoporosis. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Sixteen femoral heads with osteoporotic femoral neck fractures underwent micro-computed tomography scanning. In each tip-apex distance (TAD) of 15, 20, and 25 mm, five regions of interest (ROIs) were extracted from the central, anterior, posterior, superior, and inferior sections. A total of 15 ROIs were extracted from TADs of 15, 20, and 25 mm. The measurement parameters included BMD, percent bone volume: bone volume/total volume (BV/TV), trabecular thickness (Tb.Th), trabecular number (Tb.N), structural model index (SMI), and degree of anisotropy (DOA). RESULTS: The lowest BMD and BV/TV values were observed in the inferior region and differed significantly from those in other regions (P<0.05). Lower Tb.Th and Tb.N values were observed in the inferior region compared with those in the central region (P<0.05). The highest SMI value was observed in the inferior region (P<0.05). With TAD of 15 and 20 mm, the DOA values in the inferior region were lower than those in the anterior region (P<0.05). Lower BMD and BV/TV values were observed in the anterior, central, and inferior regions of TAD of 15 mm compared with those in the corresponding regions of TAD of 25 mm (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Positioning the lag screw between TAD of 20 to 25 mm and in the inferior region is recommended, and TAD of less than 15 mm is not recommended.

OBJECTIVES: This study was designed to investigate the potential additive influence of perioperative blood transfusion (BTF) and postoperative infections on cancer-specific survival (CSS) in patients with stage II/III gastric cancer (GC) after radical gastrectomy. METHODS: The medical records of 2114 consecutive stage II/III GC patients who underwent curative resection and planned to receive adjuvant chemotherapy (AC) were retrospectively reviewed. The independent predictive factors for infections were identified using univariate and multivariate analyses. Cox regression analysis was used to assess any associations between BTF, infection and CSS. RESULTS: A total of 507 (24.0%) received perioperative BTF and 148 (7.0%) developed infections with BTF being identified as an independent predictor for infections. Both BTF and infections independently predicted poor CSS (hazard ratio [HR]: 1.193, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.007-1.414; HR 1.323, 95% CI 1.013-1.727) and an additive effect was confirmed as patients who had both BTF and infection had even worse CSS. Further stratified analyses showed that complete AC (≥ 6 cycles) could significantly improve CSS in patients who had BTF and/or infection, which was comparable to those without BTF and/or infection (P = 0.496). CONCLUSIONS: Infection was the most common complication after gastrectomy and BTF was identified as an independent risk factor. BTF was associated with shorter CSS in stages II/III GC, independent of infections, and receiving BTF and developing infections had an additive effect that was associated with even worse CSS. However, complete AC could significantly improve CSS in these patients. Thus, strategies designed to ensure the completion of AC, such as neoadjuvant chemotherapy, should be further investigated.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the diagnostic accuracy of procalcitonin (PCT) as an early predictor of infection following radical gastrectomy to treat gastric cancer (GC). METHODS: A prospective, observational, cohort study was conducted in two high-volume tertiary centers (registered under ClinicalTrials.gov). A total of 552 consecutive adult patients undergoing radical gastrectomy for GC from June 2018 to July 2019 were included. Routine blood tests (white blood cell count (WBC); neutrophil count; the neutrophil:WBC ratio, N%) and PCT were measured on post-operative day (POD) 3 and 5. Post-operative infection was recorded based on the criteria of the Center for Disease Control. The area under the curve (AUC) summarizing receiver-operating characteristic was calculated and compared for each biomarker measured. RESULTS: Ninety three adverse events occurred in 70 patients (12.7%), with infections being the most common (n = 37, 6.7%). With cutoff values of 0.695 ng/mL at POD 3 and 0.515 ng/mL at POD 5, specificity and negative predictive value for infections were 0.656 and 96.3%, 0.816 and 96.1%, respectively. PCT had a better AUC than the WBC and neutrophil count to detect post-operative complications, especially infections (AUC: 0.678, 0.600, 0.592, P = 0.028 and 0.017, respectively) at POD 3, but which were comparable at POD 5. Additionally, 4 of the 8 patients with PCT levels ≥3 ng/mL on POD 5 were confirmed to have an infection. CONCLUSION: PCT is a more reliable predictor than WBC and neutrophil count to detect infections following radical gastrectomy for GC. PCT levels <0.695 ng/mL at POD 3 and < 0.515 ng/mL at POD 5 makes post-operative infections very unlikely but extreme high PCT levels should alert the surgeon to the possibility of infections.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE: To investigate the impact of preoperative immunological and nutritional status, using the prognostic nutritional index (PNI), on completion of planned adjuvant chemotherapy (AC), and the potential additive effects of low PNI and incomplete AC on gastric cancer-specific survival (CSS) after curative resection of stage II/III gastric cancer (GC). METHODS: Medical records of 1288 consecutive stage II/III GC patients who underwent curative resection and planned to receive AC between November 2010 and December 2017 were retrospectively reviewed. The optimal cut-off value of PNI for CSS was determined by X-tile. The independent predictive factors for incomplete AC were identified using univariate and multivariate analyses. Cox regression analyses assessed the association of low PNI, incomplete AC and CSS. RESULTS: Of the 1288 patients, 406 (31.5%) completed at least six cycles of AC within 6 months following initial of AC (complete AC). Low PNI (<43.9, n = 386) was identified to be an independent risk factor for incomplete AC (<6 cycles). Both low PNI and incomplete AC independently predicted poor CSS (hazard ratio (HR): 1.287, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.058-1.565; HR: 1.667, 95% CI: 1.342-2.071). Further analyses confirmed an additive effect with those with both low PNI and incomplete AC having an even worse CSS. CONCLUSIONS: Low preoperative PNI significantly affects completion of AC. Low PNI and incomplete AC has an additive effect and is associated with even worse outcomes. Further prospective studies are needed to clarify whether perioperative nutrition intervention could improve completion of AC and improve prognosis of GC patients.

Rehabilitation can play an important role in the multidisciplinary management of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19). After a brief introduction of the epidemiology, clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, this article discussed the use of physical agents, respiratory rehabilitation, intensive care rehabilitation, activities of daily living training, psychological intervention, home rehabilitation and rehabilitation of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the management of COVID-19.

BACKGROUND: The biological behavior of early recurrence is more invasive and the prognosis is worse in gastric cancer (GC). The risk of early recurrence (ER) for GC in stage II/III has not been reported of which the majority of GC patients are in China. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the ER of gastric cancer in stage II/III. METHODS: The medical records of 1511 consecutive stage II/III GC patients who received resections were retrospectively reviewed. They were randomly classified into either a development or validation group at a ratio of 7:3. The nomogram was constructed based on prognostic factors using logistic regression analysis and was validated by bootstrap resampling and validation dataset, respectively. Concordance index (C-index) values and calibration curves were used to evaluate the predictive accuracy and discriminatory capability. RESULTS: Three hundred eleven patients experienced ER, accounting for 20.58% of the GC patients investigated. Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified tumors located at upper, middle third, or mixed, a positive lymph node ratio ≥ 0.335, pTNM stage III, lymphocyte count < 1.5 × 109/L, postoperative infection complications and adjuvant chemotherapy < 6 cycles were all independent predictors for ER after curative resection of stage II/III GC. The C-index value obtained for the model was 0.780 (95% CI, 0.747-0.813), and the calibration curves of validation group yielded a C-index value of 0.739 (95% CI, 0.684-0.794), suggesting the practicability of the model. CONCLUSIONS: The nomogram which was developed for predicting ER of stage II/III GC after surgery had good accuracy and was verified through both internal and external validation. The nomogram established can assist clinicians in determining the optimal therapy strategies in counseling, adjuvant treatments, and subsequent follow-up planning.

Mechanically aligned total knee arthroplasty (MATKA) aims to make alignment of the hip, knee, and ankle straight unexceptionally. However, emerging evidence suggests that unexceptional straightening the mechanical axis of the lower limb may lead to clinical and radiological problems of the ankle joint. By contrast, kinematically aligned total knee arthroplasty (KATKA) strives to restore the articular surface of the prearthritic knee. In this study, we examined results from KATKA and MATKA to determine which surgery restores the ankle joint orientation closer to the native ankle joint in bipedal stance and hypothesized that KATKA, rather than MATKA, would be more effective. Data from long-leg standing radiographs of 60 healthy adults (control group, n = 120 knees), patients who underwent MATKA (n = 90 knees), and patients who underwent KATKA (n = 90 knees) were retrospectively reviewed. The hip-knee-ankle angle, orientation of the tibial plafond and the talar dome relative to the ground (G-plafond and G-talus, respectively), and orientation of the plafond relative to the mechanical axis of the limb (M-plafond and M-talus, respectively) were measured and analyzed for comparison. Results show that bipedal stance alignment in patients who underwent KATKA (G-plafond: -0.65 ± 3.03 and G-talus: -1.72 ± 4.02) were not significantly different to native ankle joint alignment indicated by the control group. Compared with the native ankle joint measured in the control group (G-plafond: -0.76 ± 2.69 and G-talus: -1.30 ± 3.25), the tibial plafond and talar dome significantly tilted laterally relative to the ground in ankle joints after MATKA (G-plafond: -2.32 ± 3.30 and G-talus: -2.97 ± 3.98, p = 0.001 and p = 0.004, respectively). Thus, postoperative ankle joint line orientation after KATKA was horizontal to the floor and closer to that of native ankle joints than those after MATKA. The level of evidence is Level III.

The aim of the this retrospective study was to investigate the clinicopathological features of gastric cancer (GC) in young patients and the potential impact of age on the prognosis of patients undergoing radical gastrectomy for GC. From November 2010 to November 2016, 317 young (≤45 years) and 1344 older patients (>45 years) who underwent radical gastrectomy for stage I-III GC were enrolled. The association between age and prognosis was estimated by univariate and multivariate analyses after propensity score matching (PSM). Compared with older patients, the proportion of females, poorly differentiated tumors, good nutritional status, and who received neo-adjuvant and/or adjuvant chemotherapy was significant higher in younger patients, but were less likely to suffer from comorbidities or post-operative complications (all P < 0.05). PSM analysis created 310 pairs of patients. After matching, the long-term survival in younger patients was significantly longer than in older patients at stage I, but similar at stages II and III. However, a young age was not identified as a significant prognostic factor. In conclusion, the prognosis of young GC patients is comparable with and even better than that in older patients after radical gastrectomy when matched for baseline characteristics. Early detection could improve the prognosis of young GC patients.

BACKGROUND: To investigate whether smoking adversely affects the short-term outcomes and the potential effects of cigarette dose and preoperative smoking cessation, in patients who underwent gastric cancer (GC) surgery. METHODS: Two thousand, four hundred sixty-nine consecutive patients who underwent radical gastrectomy from November 2010 to July 2018 were included in the present study. Smokers (current or former smokers) were divided into 3 groups in accordance with the duration of smoking cessation preoperatively (≤ 2, 2 to 4, or ≥ 4 weeks) and the cigarette dose (≤ 20, 20 to 40, and ≥ 40 pack-years). The primary endpoint was postoperative complications (surgical site infection, pulmonary problems, bleeding, and others). RESULTS: A total of 1056 patients (42.8%) were smokers. Compared with non-smokers, smokers had significantly higher overall postoperative complications (11.3% vs 7.5%, P = 0.001), and in particular pulmonary problems. Smokers also had more major complications, needing intensive care unit care, and longer postoperative hospital stays. Multivariate analysis confirmed that smoking (odds ratio = 1.506, 95% confidence interval 1.131-2.004, P = 0.005) was an independent risk factor for postoperative complications. Further subgroup analysis identified that there was a positive relationship between the incidence of complications and cigarette dose, and > 20 pack-years was demonstrated to have increased significantly the risk of complications. Smokers who stopped smoking ≥ 4 weeks before surgery had lower pulmonary problems than those with a shorter period of smoking cessation. CONCLUSIONS: Preoperative smoking cessation should be encouraged to reduce postoperative complications in GC patients, especially for heavy smokers.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE: The choice of implant is one of the most easily controllable factors affecting the outcome of intertrochanteric fractures. While most of the caput-collum-diaphysis (CCD) angles of the femur are within the range of 125° and 130°, there is a shortage of data on whether 125° or 130° implants are preferable. Thus, the present finite element analysis (FEA) aimed to compare the biomechanical effects on the fracture surface when using implants with different CCD angles where the anatomical CCD angle of the femur was between 125° and 130°. METHODS: After establishing a finite element model of an unstable intertrochanteric fracture from the femur with a native CCD angle of 127.3°, proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) models with CCD angles of 125° and 130° were virtually implanted to have the same position of screw tip, respectively. RESULTS: In the one-leg stance during walking, when the implant with 130º CCD angle was used, the magnitude of compressive stress (1.61 and 2.12 MPa in the 130° and 125° model, respectively) was lower and the area of the fracture surface under tensile stress (55% and 5% in 130° and 125° model, respectively), the interfragmentary movements (40.9% more movement in 130° model), and the magnitude of bone deformation (23.5% more deformation in 130° model) were more than those of the 125° model. CONCLUSION: The intertrochanteric fracture fixed with PFNA with a 125º CCD angle revealed less interfragmentary movement on the fracture surface when the native CCD was an in-between angle in the FEA.
