RESUMO

Primary squamous cell carcinoma of the breast is a very rare tumor accounting for less than 0.1% of all invasive breast carcinomas. It is a very aggressive, hormone receptor negative and treatment refractory tumor associated with poor prognosis. Verrucous carcinoma is a low-grade rare variant squamous cell carcinoma of skin and mucosa. It is characterized by slow growth, minimal local invasion, and rare metastasis, hence associated with an excellent prognosis. Verrucous carcinoma is more common in aerodigestive tract and anogenital region. The most common cutaneous sites are the hands and feet. We report a unique case of verrucous carcinoma of the chest wall diagnosed in a patient who had carcinoma breast post-mastectomy, which was suspected to be a local recurrence. The mode of presentation, the uncommon site of the disease, and the differential diagnosis make it an interesting case. RESUMO

The case of 69-year-old man with a post-polio paralytic limb who was diagnosed with carcinoma of the lower alveolus is presented. A successful mandible reconstruction was performed using a vascularized fibula osteocutaneous flap harvested from the polio-affected limb. The skin perfusion and quality of the bone were good. The donor defect healed uneventfully. Harvesting the flap from the polio-affected limb also significantly reduced the donor site morbidity. This case is novel in presenting the successful use of a free fibula flap harvested from a leg affected by paralytic poliomyelitis.

RESUMO

Synchronous tumors of female genital tract have been uncommonly reported in literature. The most likely scenario would represent a metastatic disease from a primary tumor within the genital tract as the presence of primary synchronous tumors of the genital tract is an extremely rare event. Most primary synchronous tumors tend to involve the endometrium and ovary, while the incidence of synchronous primary tumors involving the uterine cervix and endometrium as documented in a few case series has been around 0.4%. We present a 41-year-old lady with an extremely rare occurrence of synchronous tumors of the uterus with an endometrioid adenocarcinoma of the uterine fundus and a squamous cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix. The patient presented to us with cerebral metastasis, which was successfully managed surgically.
